Can see Desmond’s really struggling in Div 2 this year

Sure desmonds haven't been good for a fair few years. Just don't seem to get it together. Some fine players but they seem to lack heart. The drop off is too big between 4/5 very good players and the rest of the players.

Listowel 0-11 Gneeveguilla 1-10 FT Listowel 0-4 Gneeveguilla 0-4 HT
An entertaining, seesaw game at Frank Sheehy Park. Gneeveguilla's superior accuracy from the boot saw them enjoy a 4-1 lead in the first quarter. Listowel, minus several regulars, rallied to level by halftime but will be regretting a plethora of wides in the opening period. The home side continued to dominate after the break, building a 9-4 lead in a period where Gneeveguilla struggled to get out of their own half. Break out they did, however, with a well-worked move leading to the game's only goal and a badly-needed foothold in the game for the visitors. Two points soon followed to level the game. Listowel restored their lead but Gneeveguilla rallied again and hit the last few scores to nick the points.
Enjoyable stuff and the quality was decent but Listowel will be disappointed to come away with nothing from this one.

Gneeveguilla are missing ten players at the moment so I'd say it's a good win for them. They fancy themselves for beating legion and glenflesk in intermediate group. Listowel will be all out to consolidate intermediate status

Listowel will be all out to consolidate intermediate status For missing that many, Gneeveguilla still looked pretty strong so yeah, you'd fancy them alright. Likewise, Emmets were down 7 or 8 starters from the AI junior final, bringing in a couple of last year's minors. Decent game in the circumstances. Plenty of quality footpassing on show from both sides, good to see.

FT Listowel 4-11 Na Gaeil 0-4 HT Listowel 2-9 Na Gaeil 0-1
This was every bit as one-sided as the scoreline suggests, on a wet and breezy Friday evening. Listowel dominated all over the field against what looked, it has to be said, a much-depleted opposition.
Darragh Lynch made hay at full-forward, helping himself to 3 goals and several points. Jack McElligott did as he pleased up and down the pitch. Na Gaeil could only muster 3 frees and a mark in response; you'd fear for their chances of survival on this display but, as said, they seemed to be a bit short-handed on the night.

Mother of God that’s a thumping win for Listowel. Wouldn’t have predicted that. Na Gaeil are missing a lot of players to be sure but I would still expect a better show than that.

Good result for glenbeigh and ardfert. I'd say na gaeil in big trouble and Desmond's and Mitchell's.

FT Ardfert 0-10 Listowel 3-15 HT Ardfert 0-3 Listowel 0-8
A blistering second-half by Emmets despite playing into a strong wind. Ardfert would have been reasonably happy to trail by just 5 at the break, such was the strength of the breeze; however, a rapid-fire 1-3 by Listowel on the resumption put paid to their hopes. A second goal soon followed and thereafter, Emmets simply blew their hosts away with hard running and some scintillating football. Fourteen points the margin in the end and but for the woodwork (twice) and a smart save by the Ardfert keeper, it could have been worse. In truth, the towel had been thrown in long before the finish.

Anyone have other D2 results from the weekend? Can't seem to find any on the main site. It's a shambles of a website and seems to be getting worse.

Listowel 2-10 John Mitchels 0-9 FT Listowel 2-3 John Mitchels 0-5 HT
Mitchels had a fast start to this one, hitting the first 3 points and having a penalty saved before Listowel got out of their pyjamas. The hosts finally got off the mark with a 12th minute free, quickly followed by a Darragh Lynch point. Another point attempt, heading well wide, was fielded on the end line by Adam O'Rourke who cut inside his man and goaled from a tight angle. Darragh Lynch goaled again on 25 mins and Emmets never looked back after that. Four up at the break, that tally was doubled within 10 mins of the resumption. Comfortable enough in the end, Mitchels running out of steam, though they beavered away and hit the last two points. Beautiful evening for a game.

A sad demise for Na gaeil. You think they would manage to stay up. I suppose just missing too many.
