To answer a few questions put out there: To the best of my knowledge the Fitzgerald Stadium is owned by a stadium committee (Im told its owned as the same crowd as Deerpark Pitch & Putt) and runs off the funding they raise for it as well as grants which is why it usually takes longer to pass any form of redevelopment because it's not owned by the GAA.
I am happy Killarney is looking to be redone but the length of time it would take to complete those works will be years. They would require new entrances at St.Finians end which would also mean buying land from HSE and also making it accessible from that side. It would be a bigger job than Pairc Ui Chaoimh in my eyes and could take 3-5 years to complete. Kerry would probably have to play all home games outside of Munster Finals & Round Robin in Tralee for that period as well as all club games.
In regards the bypass, it's in the works but as few disputes over the route that are still being sorted. Killarney has a current bypass that no longer serves as a bypass as the town has grown out so much since it's inception. However, even if Killarney never hosted an event again there would still be great need to traffic calling measures. The reeks roundabout is now notorious and I remember the Mayo game it took an hour or longer for traffic to get in from Lawlors Cross and that was only with a crowd of 20,000

Yes I have always understood that it's Trustees or some form of company, certainly not Kerry GAA own it. That was a reason given at the time why the floodlights were installed in Austin Stack Park, not Killarney. Regarding traffic improvements, a new Farranfore/Killarney Road has been talked about for most of my adult life. Here is an article on the latest delay www.independent.ie/regionals/kerry/news/our-primary-goal-is-to-get-preferred-route-for-farranfore-killarney-bypass/42427099.html I wouldn't expect anything very soon on that front. Maybe it's a kite flying exercise to see the response, who knows.

Are we revamping a football ground or building a concert/tourist facility here? The arguments in favour of the redevelopment seem to envisage the latter and boil down to it being beneficial to the town. Fine so, let the Killarney business community pay for it, why should the wider Kerry GAA family stump up?
Realistically, there won't be any significant increase in high-profile GAA games at the ground no matter what. On the contrary, the senior team could be in exile for a few years while redevelopment takes place, just as Cork were. Speaking of which, work on the Taj Mahal next door commenced in 2015 (reopened in 2017) - where has the payoff been in terms of Rebel fortunes since then?

I'm simply saying the additional options it gives the county with respect to the local economy. That additional use will also generate money for Kerry GAA.
