Following on from comments on Twitter this morning I'm wondering how many of us on here are actually planning to be at this match. I understand all the in's and outs of why people cant go but I'm disappointed that it looks like we're not getting behind Jack & the boys. Maybe the ticket choice is a contributory factor so I'm hoping that over the next couple of days the numbers go up. Like I just posted I think its more a case people are hoping decent tickets come on stream before the end of the week.

Thanks for posting that Hermit. I think Jim is being insincere in elevating Kerry to such dizzy heights like that. A long ball from Jason to Seanie and quick off load to Diarmuid for a point is just good football not something to be marvelled at like Jacko’s goal against Offaly in ’81. Is he sowing the seeds of complacency in Kerry minds for the benefit of his former colleague who is the architect of this Derry team? The truth is much more basic and we are happy to focus on one game at a time not 10 years-time. Jack told us this week via the Examiner that it will not be pretty. When they came back from warm weather training Jack said they were working on “being patient”. We saw what that looks like against Tyrone - measured attacks and changing direction to avoid turnovers. Kerry looked ruthlessly efficient but the lack of directness was a disadvantage to David. So rather than talking about years to come, where we are now is facing a dull, workman like semi-final that we will win. Then we will have a final where we will be favourites but will have different tactical options of caution and/or cutting loose. Hopefully the latter after 20 minutes having endured a quarter and semi against Ulster teams. (The final could be another Ulster team). Some people are talking about the athleticism of the Derry players. It doesn’t matter if they had 15 Olympic sprinters, they will be corralled behind their own 45 metre line for most of the game. Jeez I really enjoyed rather than endured the quarter ! Different kettle of fish Sunday I'd say might sound odd but winning the throw in and not letting Derry settle into a 2 or 3 minute handpassing drill could be of importance the next day. A score or 2 early on would settle us and go a long way. On the tickets so silly trying to sell all the canal etc. First rather than opening the upper hogan It will be open anyway because of the journalists. I'm not sure given the time it's on perception that kerry will win handyish and the fact it will probably be terrible to watch we could be looking at mid 30k attendance which is shocking for a semi

No you got there first! But yeah anecdotally anyway from my own friends/relations it seems to be the case of no one making definitive plans unless better tickets are put up for sale.

Thanks Cliffy but I need four tickets for Sunday unfortunately, brining my Dad along with a couple of more and he'd be expecting us all to sit together.

God I thought we had a good following against Tyrone. I made this point earlier on twitter, The extra games in a condensed season has added a huge cost to supporters. With the season ticket you've only attended the game on Sunday and by the following Wed you have to pay for your next. Added to the cost of living at the minute it's a costly day out.

Yeah in fairness, like I've been at what the 5 games since the Munster final on 7 May. Sunday will be six games in just over two months, all bar one not in Kerry. Easily spend a €100 per game and most of the time a good bit more between ticket, transport, food, a few pints.
I mean that's anywhere between €600-€1000 if you add it all up! No exactly chump change...

Whatever it is I always just before the Hogan to the Cusack, suppose because I've been in the Hogan for a few of the All Ireland wins.

With you there my friend, you get used to watching from a particular angle. I'd always been in the Hogan with my dad and have spent most of my stewarding time in the Hogan. It feels "wrong" to me to be anywhere else.

Lost Dad in February of that year so my first final without him. In 2014 I was at the top of the Hogan steps, a much better day.

Too many excuses being made for not travelling. Quality of tickets? Come off it, there's no bad tickets if you want to follow your county in a semi final, could be our last game in croke park for 11 months, maybe more.
Full tank of juice In a car up and down is about 25e each between 4. It's an all ireland semi final. If it was Dublin we were playing, we'd have 20,000 looking to go and those complaining about tickets etc will be the same ones looking for tickets for the final if we are there.

That's fine but for a family of four with 2 adults and 2 kids all that money is coming from the one pot. Throw in the price of tickets and some tea / coffee and snacks on the drive and it all adds up. Cork away, Louth in portlaoise, Tyrone in Dublin all so far this year. Not to mention Kerry minors and u20s, so completely understand when some people say they just can't afford it. If Kerry make the final I couldn't afford to take the 2 kids with tickets being so expensive so are treating this like their All ireland

Similiar from Mayo the week before. Other counties can take 20,000 to games. Why is it only Kerry that have these excuses?

Rubbish, still going but hacked off with behaviour of ticket sellers What exactly have they done? Ticketmaster have a history of releasing tickets in a phased way offering tickets for sale in less central sections. ie Davin Stand before making "better" central tickets available, 705, 706! I've a season ticket, no issue for me but it's not fair on people and a sneaky way to sell seats

There was 30000 there from Clare last Sunday. Similiar from Mayo the week before. Other counties can take 20,000 to games. Why is it only Kerry that have these excuses? Agree a final is totally crazy for families as tickets are full price for everyone around 90e.However my point is you have some so called Kerry supporters who hardly travel at all but will head for the final no problem if Kerry make it. Of course the games are a big ask on families financially but the fair weather supporters would nt go if they got in for free. Unfortunately finals have always been that way. I remember prior to the 2006 final overhearing 6 American tourists who were attending the first GAA match, I couldn't get a ticket that year. Then in 2015 2 more Americans were infront of me in the Canal end at half time debating if they'd go back to the hotel as they were getting soaked. The point re Clare and Limerick supporters they have 1 or 2 trips to Croke Park. In the football you had a long trip to Portlaoise and potentially 3 games in Dublin. It is an expensive day out and people have to accept not everyone is in the position to do it twice a month. Before last week crowds were down generally at all games. Sure we couldn't even fill Fitzgerald Stadium for a game with Mayo.

I've a season ticket, no issue for me but it's not fair on people and a sneaky way to sell seats ah here lads come on, its called filling the stadium in sections as they are unsure how many will attend, you also factor in returns - the example gave last night was upper central locations, leading to the scenario that lower hogan/cusack is now pretty much sold out. whats the point having say 4000 in hogan, 3000 upper davin, 1000 in the hill etc hen you can have 8000 in lower hogan? there is nothing sneaky at all, its common logic. if people are complaining about "good tickets" and that is a reason they dont go, i question their motives and if they actually want to go at all. if you can sit in corner for a final, you should be happy to sit there all year.
