The over moderation argument was still valid, any post that was reported was being taken down and some posters were just reporting posts that they didn’t like but were true. There was one poster in particular who would start arguments/discussions/debates and then report any responses that proved him wrong or disagreed with him. The fact that the report option was able to be used like this was frustrating and deserved to be criticised I think the moderation in question was over-moderation. But I think the other way, under-moderation, could see the end of this forum. At a minimum we are going to see threads all over the shop (like this one, and the trivia thread). On the other extreme we could have a situation where buckos come on and say something that causes the CB to take notice and have an issue. No point arguing about moderation on a forum that does not exist. EDIT: I just see that the trivia thread has been cleaned up. Perhaps I am being a little premature in my Chicken Littling and unfair of the current moderators. The moderators have an impossible task Its essentially a micro version of the Twitter debate - under moderate and the loon balls run wild and over moderate and you let poster use it as a form of censorship

Ffs this forum is going to sh*t altogether. Goons coming on shouting the odds about “D” teams because they were missing 4/5 players and calling it facts and just starting pointless arguments. Can we get some kind of full time restriction put on new posters? Maybe their first 10/20 posts have to be reviewed before they go up or something? It just seems to be open season for idiots to set up a random profile, shout the odds for a few posts and disappear So no one bar kerry people can come pn here? I was hardly shouting just pointing out facts clealy ye dont like the truth so best of luck. Pretty immature to call me a goon 😂 bye and good luck ha!

Posters from outside of Kerry are welcome but only when they post good stuff. Talking about Mayo D teams is going beyond hyperbole and into rubbish.

I can appreciate the volume of texts and posts increase in intensity at certain times of the day and hit a crescendo in or around key games. Regardless, some decorum and discipline has to be self administered to assist an overburdened control.

Didn't a fella from Mayo drive down to Kerry and climb Carrauntoohill the morning of the 2014 final just to plant a big Donegal flag at the summit. Makes you think. I wonder will we ever know how that was

I have posted before that most Dubs I know while they respect Kerry do not like us winning ( because we won plenty like them) but they cheer for Kerry when we playing Mayo because they tell me they can't stand Mayo supporters. Now while the majority are sound it's the likes of the poster "Clare" would turn people off Mayo. Then again maybe that's what he wants. He might be Wum and not from Mayo at all because he "clarely" 😁knows effall about Mayo teams. Ridiculous comment thats why a lot dont like ye kerry supporters I always said if ye won ye won fair&square most times and that mayo didnt deserve to win but the league final was differnt and I stand by my points some pretty immature people on here that would turn you off kerry supporters to !!

Look I did not come on here to start silly arguments I was literally just making a point and my opinion and a lot of others for the fact. I wish ye all the best for the coming season and for some great games from all counties and hopefully no injuries! Always said ye where a great side with some serious talent never denied that but I made some facts which did not go down well! Anyway wish ye guys all the best for the year ahead but not to much against us haha

I always enjoy our trips to Castlebar. Mayo are very much like Kerry. Similar kind of county, similar populations, two big towns, and so on. Mayo people also are nice to talk to during the game. If you want to look critically at Mayo this is the situation: Lee Keegan and Oisin Mullin are Mayo's two best defenders and losing them will be a big loss. Colm Boyle has retired. O'Hara is a good defender, but nowhere near the class of the other two. Stephen Coen is still there and probably Mayo's best defender now. Michael Plunkett and Eoghan McLaughlin are two others that will do well for Mayo. Aidan O'Shea will be 33 by now and he's no longer having the impact on games he once had, and in my opinion he is not a full forward. Matthew Ruane is arguably Mayo's most important player and still has a few years ahead of him. Kevin McLoughlin might still retire and will be 35 this year. Jason Doherty is 33. Cillian O'Connor will be 31. James Durcan is 28. Hennelly will be 33. Loftus is 28. Paddy Durcan is 28. Brendan Harrison is 30. Ryan O'Donoghue, Diarmuid O'Connor, James Carr, Tommy Conroy are the future of Mayo football. I'm not forgetting Jordan Flynn, Fergal Boland, Jack Carney, Darren McHale either. Now, this Mayo team was the top 2 or 3 team in the country for about a decade. Mayo are always there or thereabouts and nobody is writing them off. But...talking about facts... Kerry did beat Mayo 3 times last year in League and Championship and whether that was an A, B, C or D team it still meant Mayo didn't win. I'm wishing Mayo all the best, but if I'm honest I'd be surprised if Mayo make the League or Championship final. Hopefully Mayo will make me eat my words. But

Two more games until the final. Group B Tipperary v Limerick 14/1 Templetuohy at 2pm Ref Alan Long (Cork) Group A Clare v Cork 15/1 Cooraclare at 1:30pm Ref Brian Fleming (Kerry) Unless Clare beat Cork it will be a final between Cork and the winners of Tipp v Limerick. I actually fancy Limerick to win that one. Cork to win the McGrath Cup. Just what Cork need, some silverware. Just what Kerry needed as well, some gametime for the frynch players. 16 days to go until the league starts for Kerry. For Cork it will be crucial they do well. They'd be very eager to get one over on Dublin and get promoted to Division 1. I don't think anyone in Cork expects them to win Sam this year, but if they can beat Kerry in Munster and get promoted to division 1 they'd have all their goals ticked off for this season. Clare and Limerick want to stay in division 2, and that should be achievable, and Tipp will want to get promoted to division 2. Given that Kildare and Louth have pulled out of the O'Byrne Cup, and Meath keep saying they are a division 1 team, it will be a minefield in division 2 this year. A very tough league will certainly stand to the division 2 teams, and personally I think the gap between the top 8 and the next 8 is closing. Within the top 8 teams though there are a few that are ahead of the others, and some of them actually find themselves in division 2. Interestingly the Dubs really seem to want the O'Byrne this year, in others years they just expected to win it, and that bodes well for the league and championship.

I don't think the Dubs are going all out to win the Ó Byrne Cup as they are trying out mostly new players. A bit like ourselves that if it happens they l take it. Make no mistake about it the Dubs big aim this year is to win Sam back. Anything else will be a failure. Also they have the team to do it and with games coming faster this year they have the advantage of less travel and will be fresher than most teams. Cork s big aim is to get to division one and get to a quarter fínal I'd imagine. I would think our aim is to remain in division one and retain our all ireland the main aim. It's gkint to be an interesting year and if we have the hunger we have a great chance. Many say if Dus g had Con Ó Callaghan last year they d have beaten us. I don't agree! Yes he is a great player but I think we were much better than the Dubs last year and we were coasting before a silly error cost us a goal and we kind of panicked. If Con was playing the game might have been tighter mostly but Costello might never have got the goal. We will never know but this year Dublin will be stronger but we gave the monkey off our back now so the panic should be gone. Maybe I'm blind but I ll be shocked if anyone other than Kerry or Dublin wins Sam. 😂

Maybe I'm blind but I ll be shocked if anyone other than Kerry or Dublin wins Sam. I think we got a massive monkey of our backs last year by beating the Dubs and seriously kicked Dub confidence in the shins by doing so. Until Seanie's kick nobody in Ireland thought we were going to beat them. We were hoping, but nobody was confident. We have a better team this year. The younger players have another year under the belt. I think the Dubs won't go all out to win the O'Byrne and get promoted, Sam is the aim, but winning the O'Byrne is more or less a must for their confidence. They are by far the best in Leinster and if they won't win the O'Byrne they have failed. The league will be very interesting as they won't want to show all their trump cards and waste too much energy on the league, but they also don't want another year in Division 2 or get beaten by teams like Derry and Cork. Galway too will be hurting and the likes of Armagh, Tyrone and Derry will feel there was more in them last year. It makes the league very intriguing. I'm hoping we will have learned the lessons of the McGrath campaign. We now know what Cork can and will bring and what our own players will bring. From next week on training will seriously start and going towards the championship you will see more fitness in the team. Against Clare it was obvious Clare were the fitter team. But Clare have different aims of course.

McCarthy, Fitzsimons and Rock and possibly more will probably finish this year. This is why they are pushing so hard this year. We will see but i think they are a dangerous animal.

Agree that Dublin will give it one last go all aces may be back in the pack, Mannion, McCaffery etc but plying their trade in div 2 and being in a non-competitive province, they may be undercooked come knockout ball.
Their biggest ace is not on the playing field in my opinion, but in Pat Gilroy on the sideline.
His addition cannot be underestimated.
