Well next weekend relegation play off is a huge day of reckoning for both Kenmare and Stacks.just as Kenmare were establishing themselves at Senior level they might find themselves back intermediate and what a fall it would be for stacks from county champions to intermediate in 12 months .For stacks an ageing Donaghy a few injuries and a lack of scoring forwards have put them in this dilemma. The fear for stacks is this dire lack of forward talent could prevent them from bouncing back up if they are relegated. The form guide says Kenmare should prevail but form goes out the window in games like this and maybe in poor weather conditions in a low scoring game stacks might just prevail in an arm wrestle and the farcical situation would then arise that Kenmare would join an already star studded East Kerry squad for 2023 ..Let the debate begin ? is it not the case that kenmare will join kenmare district be it backed by most of the kenmare team.

ya surely kenmare district is reformed but then that just leads to an extra team?
absolutely under no circumstances anyway, should kenmare go to EK....south kerry perhaps and they take Kilgarvin/Tousist with them?
that is the only fair logic

8 teams in the club championship is too few. It should be at least 10, if not 12. A county board review suggested 10 senior clubs and 6 divisional clubs in the county championship. A 10 team Senior Club Championship could compete in 2 groups of 5. Top 2 into semi-finals. Bottom teams into relegation final. The county championship arguably could be divisional clubs in 2 groups of 3. The senior club semi-finalists and divisional group winners can advance to the county quarter-finals. The 3rd placed teams in the senior club championship and the divisional runners-up could contest a preliminary quarter-final for the remaining quarter-final places.

Two interesting matches today.
In the relegation play off, form and squad suggests Kenmare to keep their senior status. Stacks won't go down without a fight but down they will go.
I see Tempelnoe winning the club championship which will be a major achievement for such a club. They are also my preference to win it as I don't think any team who performed as KOR did in the county champ should be anywhere near representing Kerry outside the county.
Although stacks relegated and KOR winning or Kenmare relegated and Tempelnoe winning would lead the some interesting slagging in their respective areas.

Is the Kenmare v Stacks game available going to be screened? No. The only game being streamed is the Rahillys v Templenoe game on www.clubber.ie.

Donal O'Sullivan scored 2-13 out of 2-15 in the Novice final yesterday. Must br be up there as on of the highest individual scores in a county final.

Just read, three All Ireland winning Club sides will playing intermediate next year, Stacks, Castleisland and Laune Rangers.
Anyone at the Kenmare game that can enlighten as to what happened with Kieran Donaghy?

Anyone at the Kenmare game that can enlighten as to what happened with Kieran Donaghy? Unclear what the actual injury was which stemmed from the way he hit the ground while challenging in the air. Word on the terrace was a dislocated shoulder which was put back in on the field, he was also left with a bad enough limp.

What a day. Moran absolutely phenomenal and there’s lads trying to retire him. Best midfielder in the county, up there with Jacko as our best ever.

I’m off to the pub Vet, I’m just waiting in the car now and I’m not as articulate as yourself. A very tight contest and the big players for KOR really stood up with Moran superb and jack savage getting motm even though I’d have given it to David. Killian Spillane clinical for templenoe and had to do nearly all their attacking and it was the better spread or scorers that won it for KOR. I thought the corner back Brian Crowley was really, really good for templenoe. I thought templenoes other county men were only so-so. Gavin O Brien did what he always does - very little for large swathes of the match and then a couple of really powerful runs where you think that a county player is in there.

It is hard to fathom Austom Stacks are going to be intermediate
A big chance for the Brendans board to win a senior championship now, though will the present clubs in set up and Stacks gel

KoR by a point in a great contest.
Killian was easily the best forward and the best player on the field. He tired towards the end and the scoring threat by Templenoe faded.
Killian ploughed a lone furrow upfront from most of the match and it was tough on him that his last effort from a free with the right foot fell short....into the arms of David Moran ....who dropped it....someone seemed to toe poke it and i think it hit the crossbar....and it was scramled clear and the final whistle blew.
KoR had a far greater spread of scorers and scoring threat.... BJK gor a least 3 from play, Cormac Coffey raced forward and fired over, Hayes scored as did Tommy Walsh. Jack S kicked 6 from frees and 45s...one with the left.
DM had the better of it in midfield in the first half. Adrian had a fine second half but DM finished strongly and caught a vital kickout at the end when the lead had been cut to two.
Gavin Crowley looked injured...the commentators said he was too.
KoR cleverly played diagonal ball in the forwards which took Tadhg out of the game.
All in all it was a great match, well reffed.
It would have been one sided had Killian not been playing.
Brian Crowley at corner back caught the eye for Templenoe
There will be plenty of 'schadenfreude' around Strand Road tonight seeing as Stacks are relegated.
Based on todays game KoR will acquit themselves well in Munster.

Will Stacks definitely go into Brendan's? Mad to think they've gone from reigning county/club champions to intermediate in less than 12 months?
