Now Kerry have their place 100% confirmed in the final, we should probably expect some sort of resting of players and giving fellas who haven't had much game time in the past few games a run out and maybe more fellas returning from injury such as Moran and Gavin White. Not sure what their status is though. Tyrone will be fighting for Div1 safety so I don't think they'll be coming down with anything short of their best team available. Tyrone will have that to play for, whilst Kerry will be looking to avenge last years semi final defeat and also keep their unbeaten record so far in 2022 in place. This game is beautifully poised, and weather permitting, we should see a big crowd too.

Does anyone have any information on the status of the injured players? I make it that we had 8 players unavailable yesterday, O’Donoghue, Murphy, White, Crowley, Okunbor, Moran, O’Shea and Moynihan. This would be a good game to get game time into these players and see where they are before a league final.

According to Marc O Sé Dan's injury was a hamstring something I wasn't aware of I thought it was his calf.
He also said David Moran had a minor set back which riles him out of league.

It's hard to see David being ready for Championship without games - even from the bench, but here's hoping.

I think the current league panel as been listed in recent programmes is our extended championship panel, I cannot envisage any additions and unfortunately for the lad, I actually include Moran in this bracket, at this juncture, it’s hard to see any new or bolters joining up.
The beauty or for some the fallout of the recent round, affords us to relax the pressure levels for the visit of Tyrone, the only question is will Jack want to preserve the unbeaten run in the league and the long unbeaten run in Killarney, therefore, maintaining the winning mentality or will he use again to have a look at extended panel while still maintaining a valid and strong spine.
Personally, I think he will do a bit of both, Jack has never been sentimental and I see no value in going for the juggler to relegate the red hand. I can see Jack again having. A look and letting players put themselves in shop window. Certain players, in particular defensive players like Foley, Tom Sullivan, Beagleoich and Morley have played the majority of both league and McGrath Cup games, still there are benefits of retaining as the more practice in honing the defensive system could be crucial come dry sod and real tests.
For Sunday’s I would pick along the lines of Ryan, Casey, Foley, Graham, Crowley, Morley, Beagleocih, Joe and Diarmuid O’Connor, Burns,, Savage, Horan, Brosnan, Geaney and Stephen

I’m starting to think that Killian’s race is run for this season

We need options off the bench so we need to give him more time to come good. Burns is fortunate to be in there, works hard but takes the wrong option a lot. Poor shot selection and I'd be honest felt Adrain should have stayed on yesterday.

In a way the more time goes on the more sensational Killian Spillane's goal in the drawn AIF of 2019 seems.

Killian Spillane is a certainty for the championship 26. We’ve 4 inside forward options going for 2 spots in Clifford, Geaney, Brosnan and Spillane, all 4 are guaranteed to be in the championship 26. His performances this year aren’t as bad as is being made out. Yesterday didn’t go his way but Brosnan wasn’t that much better than him either. The first half was very difficult for our inside forwards, their area was very crowded. We were creating scores through our half backs, midfielders, and half forwards coming onto the ball so of course the inside forwards were going to be quiet. He’d a good first half against Donegal to be fair to him but obviously the league hasn’t gone his way but there’s no need to over exaggerate things either. Harder ground will improve Killian’s performances. He won’t be a starter come championship but don’t write him off yet to have a big impact for us this year. Every team in the country would kill to have a forward of his quality as an impact sub.

Not sure what he gives you except hard running and a bit of energy. His shooting is very erratic. At best he's minding a space on the bench come the summer.
I doubt this game will be shown at any point on tv given how many hurling games are on, let alone the fact every D1 game has something riding on it.
Would it be streamed by any chance??

Lads agree 100% about making changes for Sunday, but there also needs to be a strong team lined out, especially giving fringe players game time, you just don’t land them in a war zone, let’s keep some key players on all lines would be my approach , as well as, a run out a half for any guys returning from injury, like to keep it competitive. Horse box might not be too far of on his selection , we will see Friday, maybe jack might go stronger.

Yeah I agree, you are throwing fringe lads to the slaughter if you field a more or less completely new team. On Killian - I was defending him on here earlier in the year when someone was giving out about his decision making against Tyrone last year but he needs a decent performance soon as he’s been given a lot of chances and hasn’t taken them. He’s been given more chances than any other non first 15 forward over the last few years, including Brosnan, and hasn’t done much since that goal against Dublin. Eventually you reach a stage where that goal is a massive outlier and I feel like we are gettin there

Killian was probably our best player against Cork in 2020 so he is more than the 2019 final. At the start of the league, most were saying he needed a run of games, he has now got that but has not grabbed the opportunity. Having said that, it is far too early to write him off. He has proven in several big games that he has the ability to make an impact

Eventually you reach a stage where that goal is a massive outlier and I feel like we are gettin there killian is more suited to more open spaces like in croker, his strength was never winning the 50/50 battles, that’s what was required last Sunday in the tight pitch, he won’t start but as I keep saying it’s about finishing as strong as you started, so killian will have a role, will all depend on how individual games develop, horses for courses comes to mind. I think the same applies to the rest of the squad, we have developed strength in depth, we only have 1 DC and 1 SS, but we now have guys that can step into our system and contribute. Like to add to previous comments as well re G O Sullivan, a fine game Sunday, the lad is getting some game time and looks like getting some confidence, this is great news, again becoming a solid contributor and if he is someone to come on, I think we can all be confident he will contribute ,this is happening across our squad.

Bit harsh on killian and Tony lads tbh in the first half armagh were fairly well set up to stop kicks into ff line there wasn't much space hence most of our points were lads breaking into the d. In 2nd half armagh had to gamble and pushed up it nearly worked for them but we left Clifford in on his own and armagh went one on one with him which meant he was always going to get a few scores. I'm very content at the moment it's a pity we only have 2 league games for Joe o connor as him and okunbar perhaps couldve been the missing pieces which is viable mf options. Team I would go with 1. Ryan 2. Casey 3.foley 4.graham sull 5.Beaglaoich 6.morley 7.crowley 8.barry 9.Joe o connor 10.horan 11.savage 12.o brien 13.paudie 14.clifford 15.brosnan
I think it would be good to keep momentum going here unbeaten and no goal from play has a nice ring to it. Also id play as physical a team a possible as i think Tyrone will be up for it. I would rest Adrian he looked spent the last day id rest Tom sull and o connor as they are dead certs anyway try horan in spillanes role mccurry would be a great test for casey aswell.

My main point is that what Spillane did against Dublin in 2019 and Cork in 2020 gets him some leeway in my eyes. There are plenty others on the panel who have never delivered in this manner or have not done so for a long time that I would be looking at more closely. Perhaps Spillane is not quite at the level but I would not be making the decision based on the last few weeks or this weekend’s dead rubber.

I don’t really agree on counting the cork performance as I don’t remember him doing anything special. He got a great goal in the Dublin game but how many chances has he had in 2021 and this year whereby he hasn’t kicked on at all? You can’t keep picking a lad because of what he did in a sub appearance nearly 3 years ago. He needs to take these chances. You’re saying that he has done more than squad bankers but once again he hasn’t done more in the last 2 years and that’s what matters. As i said it can only be a bad run of form for so long. Id start him Sunday but he needs to kick a couple of scores as there’s plenty of lads we can play there that won’t, if that’s the criteria

If you don’t think the Cork performance is worth taking into account, then there is no debate But sure what did he do of note against them? I don’t remember him standing out and Cork are on the verge of going to division 3 so they are, in all reality, crap. The division 1 league games are the test of a player and he hasn’t done much in those. If the barometer is a not particularly stand out performance against an upper div 3/lower div 2 side then I think you’re way off

I would think personally that Diarmuid O'Connor is now our main midfielder and only if we can't find anyone to partner him will Moran come back. Joe O'Connor did well in Armagh and perhaps needs a bit more time. Okunbor when fit would be a great fit next to Diarmuid. Jack Barry is good, but is he good enough? We're currently being cleaned out in midfield in most games, but we're lucky that have players who will win that breaking ball. Savage, O'Shea. Spillane and Moynihan have been instrumental for us the last 6 games. Sean O'Shea is missing in the centre forward and playmaker role, but Savage shows he can play that role as well. I don't think Sean is our answer in midfield though. Ideally it would be Moran and O'Connor, but I think Jack will want to try O'Connor and O'Connor this weekend. Dan O'Donoghue are Dylan Casey are fighting for the same spot, but they are hard to be separated. Just like Graham O'Sullivan and Brian Ó Beaglaoich are certainly trying to keep Paul Murphy and Gavin White of the team. Jason Foley and Morley are now certain to start, but I'm suspecting Jack will want to try someone else in fullback and the sweeper role as back up. In the forwards we have much more potential and I think most will agree that Killian and Brosnan are probably due some great games. Burns and Horan will probably get a chance to against Tyrone.
But...experiment too much and you won't be able to judge accurately at all. I'm expecting Jack to start a pretty conservative team, much like in all the other league games, and give the others a chance if needed. There are a few on the panel that have seen very little game time. Will they be given a chance this weekend, or does Jack keep his cards close to his chest and not show his full hand just yet? I'm expecting the wiley fox will be trying to not show too much of what Kerry can do until a semi or championship final. David and Paudie have been momentous but probably need to be on the bench so we can see how we can win without them.
