On a non McGrath Cup point interesting to see Paul Galvin going in to a coaching role in Kildare. I was surprised to be honest as he apparently turned down Kerry last year due to living above in Mayo. Would have been great having him on board i think he has a great football outlook. Being honest, I expected him to get involved with Declan’s U20’s, I was surprised he wasn’t in that ticket. I know TV can be distorting but his insights and grà for the game was very evident in the Underdogs series and he was impressive in how he conducted himself with the intending players even hiw he detailed his vision in his book was one of the best reads from the 2000’s team, he is deep, insightful and blinkered….. I have a feeling he would be a serious player manager motivational wise.

I think a few lads have been playing a lot of football last 2 weeks, I think the squad will be important Saturday, as I assume all guys are working hard ahead of national league, goes for both teams, so guys will get tired, but looking forward to the game, great prep ahead of NFL, and it’s cork coming to Killarney.

I don't know why he's not looking to be involved with Kerry - could be he's looking to prove himself outside Kerry first. Maybe if he comes back home he want's to be doing it as the main man on the sideline and he thinks he can achieve that quicker going his own route rather than working his way up through the Kerry setup.

If Breen is out it’ll be interesting to see who’s positioned at centre back. Will it be Morley again or will Okunbor be given a go there. Foley might be given the chance to have another go at marking Hurley, who has started the year on fire, after the Munster final last year where Foley struggled before being switched. It’d be a good test for Foley. I’d assume Shane Murphy will be given another chance in goals after each keeper has had one start. We know much more about Ryan so another look at Murphy is needed. Might be the last time we see one keeper if Jack chooses his man between the sticks for the year before the first league game. If Gavin White is available he’ll probably be given a start to get him up to speed. Tony Brosnan I think deserves a start but neither Geaney or Spillane deserved to be dropped. I’d be in favour of letting David Clifford sit out this one and start the other 3 inside forwards and the best 2 performers start the first league game. It would be good to play a game without Clifford so others forwards really have to step up to the scoring plate.

Are you saying Crotta is in the parish of Lixnaw? I thought Crotta was in Kilflynn parish

At the moment, I think a good number of their players are St. Senans lads, from Lixnaw parish, and visa versa.

Cork seem to be down a few defenders as well.

Strong team named by Cork, I see a North Kerry man listed in midfield, Listowel Emmetts Joe Grimmes.

No that doesn't happen at all, no one from Kilflynn would tolerate such cross-contamination - I mean there's DEFINITELY no Lixnaw blood in me

There is a lot of new names in that cork starting 15, should be interesting, just fear for the quality of the cork side, if Kerry can start a strong 15, last summer a distant memory I know.
Anyone remember if grimes played underage with Kerry, I don’t remember him. Just before or at the start of our minor run.

Granted I haven't seen any of the Cork games however they haven't been as emphatic as Kerrys 2 wins so far. Did the concede something like 1.9 to Waterford ? I'd expect Kerry to be comfortable on Sat in Killarney and start in Newbridge in good shape. Fantastic news regarding the restrictions easing. Looking forward to Tralee in 2 weeks.

Interesting that Joe Grimes from Listowel is selected at midfield by Cork. I know very little about him but apparently he did well in the Cork county championship this year. I don’t ever recall him being mentioned as county material down here. Seems to be a meteoric rise.

I have not used it but I think it was the provider used for the Tipperary game and I can't remember seeing any issues with the game. They upload highlights on twitter after the games too which is a nice bonus for people who can't tune in.

Wouldn't have said he was quite ic standard but then again he was young at the time. Coming into his prime now, I suppose.

What's the story now? A greater than 30,000 capacity stadium hosting the final tomorrow. Will attendance stay capped at 5,000 or might more be let in?

Misread the information, 50% of capacity or 5000, whichever is the least expires on Saturday morning. From there on, no limit on attendance, other than the venue's own official attendance limit naturally.

I am reading it differently
This means that sports stadiums and indoor arenas can welcome 100% attendances for fixtures from this weekend.

My reading is ya, it’s open seaso six one news just confirmed… open the gates, it’s open Season.
I see a certain kerry gaa pundit saying on Twitter to expect changes for tomorrow’s team, change in midfield and full forward. I’ve never been a fan of “knowledge is power” malarkey but either say it and nail the colours to the mast if you have confidence in yourself and sources or just leave it to those in the know… or maybe I’m just being cranky in my old age….

I saw that as well, maybe Greg Horan for a run with SOS ,in the middle, or might be lightening load on the boys who played sigerson and club finals, we will know at 8.

He’s often at that. I remember before a Munster final in I think it was 2019 and he said there’d be a real surprise inclusion in the forwards. Ended up being Dara Moynihan which was half expected anyway. A whole new full forward line would be a big surprise. Whatever about Clifford and even Geaney, surely Killian Spillane will play. Might see a combination from Okunbor, Joe O’Connor if fit and Paul O’Shea at midfield. It’ll be interesting if there are changes.
