I think we need to give Keane one more year. If anyone has aspirations they will need to prove it at minors/u20s beforehand. We all have to take into account that Kerry had to prepare to peak for a game for three weekends in a row with little notice each time. Its tough to tailor a plan that keep changing so often. Tyrone gambled on the game being last weekend close to a month ago and made sure they constantly disrupted us with their gamble. The Tyrone team likely used player health/welfare for gamesmanship purposes. Its fairly sad when you think of it, the players didn't look affected in the least. But that showed they did everything to win, can we say we did? Keane for one more year is better than tied to the wrong choice for two or three. If Stephen O'Brien was outside the square when he called for Paul's pass would we be having this conversation? If the players stopped running into blind alleys and getting overturned, would we be having this conversation? The players need to accept some fault. Some made stupid decisions and we all suffered. To be fair they did almost pull back a 5 point deficit after a freak goal. I do not want a manager who has little to no experience replace Keane. Tomas may talk the talk but he could end up like Darragh in the u20s.

Who are these ex-players who should get the job and have they taken on any Kerry underage or club teams and been successfull? The job should go to the person with the best credentials irrespective of whether he played county or not. Spot on no evidence at all . I can see some in the back room team but no ones stands out for top job . Jack o Connor has basically offered his services going by his interview but he signed up to Kildare if that means anything

We can talk round and round about players and management etc. but, I think the underlying problem is that Kerry have become mentally soft, weak, fragile or whatever you want to call it. I don't mean it as a massive criticism or anything but, until we can close out a big match in Croke park it will be something that is a worry. Players and management need to come out the right side of one of these games to get the belief and knowledge that they can do so again. By closing out a game I am not speaking of battling to a draw or closing out a game from 3-4 points ahead with 10 mins to go. I am speaking about games where the outcome is in the balance deep into injury time and we come out with a one point win. Wether we kick the winning score or successfully defend a one point lead is immaterial. Think of all the games Kerry have drawn in the last few years in Croke Park. - Mayo 2017
- Donegal 2018
- Dublin 2019
- Tyrone 2021
Each one in the balance as the clock ticks into the red. Apart from the last one we were leading each by 1 point. None of these games did we win. We need to improve our decision making and thought process when the game is on the line. High Performance coach / Psychologist whatever is needed. The problem is that no matter what is done you won't know if it works until you are back in that situation again. I was incredulous that Kerry didn't have some sort of set play or to borrow a basketball term 'inbounds move' to engineer a high percentage chance for Sean O'Shea, Paul Geaney or Killian Spillane at the death of extra time. The same could be said for the last attempt in normal time with a terrible ball into David Clifford who couldn't move at that stage. That said, maybe we did have a set play and the players froze and didn't implement it. Whatever happens in terms of retirements and replacements in terms of management and players we need to learn to win this type of game. You might only have 1 in the year but, as we found out to our cost this year it's nearly always the one that matters
