Oh there is definitely green shoots, the minors have a good balance, very strong in defense and midfield, it’s the forward unit that are faltering and stuttering despite the high totals.
If NK address the failings in the half forwards line and revert to the unit and formation of earlier rounds than it may be enough to get past East Kerry,
On Sunday then Hermit our U15’s face East Kerry in the C’ship Quarter Final.

I think North kerry, Kierans final for me. Mid kerry have got lucky so far, Kierans have destroyed everyone they look to be strong, have some great footballers.

I think North kerry, Kierans final for me. Mid kerry have got lucky so far, Kierans have destroyed everyone they look to be strong, have some great footballers. Kierans have destroyed Stacks, Crokes and West Kerry, 3 teams who are well off the standard. Stacks improved since the first day out when they were destroyed by Kierans but along with Crokes they wouldn’t be one of the top 3 or 4 club teams. West Kerry were the weakest team in the whole competition this year. I think that’s actually an advantage for Mid Kerry. They’ve come through on the right side of 3 very tight encounters. North Kerry are obviously very strong and Laune Rangers won the county league. Mid Kerry to beat Kierans for me.

I don't think there's much between East KY and North KY. North KY to shade it. The way Mid KY set up makes them very hard to beat. I didn't see St Kierans play.

Gofirit2 - I only saw Mid Kerry play against North Kerry and in fairness they completely stifled the Northern half forward line. They have a very strong midfield paring and bench. Their subs really a difference, I fancy North to just about get over East Kerry and having seen the midlanders I fancy Mid to beat Kieran’s, unless St Kieran’s are a seriously talented and well drilled outfit.

Same evening North lost Stack to a dead leg at HT was well as Segal and Healy to cramp in last quarter. It was the half forward line that Miss fired that evening

Cracking second game, level after extra time East Kerry won on penalties, awful way to lose for youngsters but hand on heart, East Kerry were the better team marginally.
The equalizing free on FT and end of Extra Time were soft.
Some decision making by the line were baffling, but I think three players are definite County standard for me for next year from North Kerry, Eddie Healy should get the number six jersey, Conor Sweeney could well stake a claim to one of the corner back positions and Cormac Dillon will get a wing forward slot.
The same two sides meet in the U15 quarter final tomorrow morning, I hope the U15 side have more luck.

Mid kerry 2-8 St kierans 0-11 I don’t know how St Kieran’s lost this game, up to half time they were the main team but a very fortunate goal by Mid Kerry turned the tide, the wing forward for Kieran’s Niall Collins kicked some superb points from play and got inside the cover consistently but the final ball to him often failed to materialize. Seeing both games tonight, one would have to say that East Kerry were the better side in the night and would beat Mid Kerry by four or five points at least.

I was very impressed with Conway in midfield for North Kerry. Always showed for the ball and very incisive ball carrier. Palmer was excellent and always a threat for East Kerry. East Kerry just about deserved the win. East Kerry will rightly be favourites for final based on today however Mid Kerry will be hard to break down.

Both Conway and Robert Stack are two powerful units, Conway’s run was the key for the North Kerry goal, but he had a similar run in the second half, one lovely side step when in full flight setting up a free that Dillon converted.

East Kerry made changes relatively early and they brought a bit of energy. Segal was a loss for North Kerry when he went off.

The exchange of Stack and Healy didn’t make sense to me or the resubbing, but ya Segql was a loss coupled with Dillon seriously suffering with cramp at that same time,

Healy did well in previous games when he moved to the middle however you're right, Stack was missed in the middle today.

Sign Up AFTER a monumental encounter played in atrocious weather conditions, it took a penalty shoot-out for East Kerry to finally subdue a heroic North Kerry outfit to advance to yet to another County MFC Final at a rain-soaked Austin Stack Park in Tralee this evening.
With both protagonists unable to be separated at full time (0-10 apiece) and at the end of another pulsating 20 minutes of extra-time, the reigning champions were just that bit more clinical from the penalty spot, converting all four of their spot-kicks, with Rory Mahony (over the bar) and substitute Keltyn Molloy (saved) missing for North Kerry.
This game had absolutely everything, and it is testament to the management teams and both groups of players that the contest remained in the melting pot all the way to Brian McCarthy’s superb stop from the final North Kerry penalty. On an occasion like this, between two such evenly-matched outfits, there didn’t deserve to be a loser. But such are the vagaries of knock-out sport.
North Kerry dominated the opening half, with Darragh Conway and Robert Stack in control at midfield, but the county’s newest divisional team didn’t really make their superiority count, only leading by three points, 0-5 to 0-2, at the break.
East Kerry raised their game considerably on the resumption, with the livewire Stephen Palmer unmarkable in attack, and it took two late points from North Kerry top scorer Cormac Dillon to bring the game to extra-time after it ended 0-10 each at the end of regulation.
A brilliant Conway-created goal, expertly finished by Molloy, just 20 seconds into extra-time appeared to give North Kerry the momentum to plough on to victory, but with Timmy Moynihan excellent off the bench, East Kerry notched five of the next six points to take the ascendancy again, 0-15 to 1-11, before goalkeeper Kieran Mackessy kicked an epic equaliser from a 40 metre free to send it to the dreaded shoot-out.
That, like the 80-plus minutes before it, was on a knife-edge too, the rising drama only slightly dampened by the cascading rain. Amid all the tension, it was the champions who kept their nerve that little bit better as they won with four converted spot kicks.
East Kerry will defend their title against Mid Kerry next weekend, after they beat St Kierans by 2-8 to 0-11 in the first of the two semi-finals in Austin Stack Park.
EAST KERRY: Brian McCarthy (Firies); Mike Dennehy (Rathmore) 0-1, Rian Colleran (Fossa), James Williams (Kilcummin); Sean Dineen (Fossa), Dara O’Callaghan (Kilcummin), Dara O’Shea (Kilcummin) 0-1; Darran Ryan (Fossa), Fionn Murphy (Rathmore) 0-1; James Horgan (Firies), Mark O’Shea (Kilcummin) 0-2, Conor Gammell (Legion); Darragh Nagle (Rathmore), Harry Kelly (Fossa) 0-1 (1f), Stephen Palmer (Firies) 0-5.
Subs: Rian O’Neill (Spa) for Dineen (half-time), Sam Benson (Legion) 0-1 (1f) for Gammell (half-time), Timmy Moynihan (Spa) 0-2 for Horgan (40 mins), Padraig Moynihan (Kilcummin) for Nagle (47 mins), Cathal O’Donoghue (Listry) 0-1 for Kelly (70 mins).
NORTH KERRY: Kieran Mackessy (Finuge) 0-2 (2f); Oisin Kennelly (Moyvane), Eddie Healy (Listowel Emmets), Conor Sweeney (Moyvane); Jack O’Keeffe (Moyvane), Adam Segal (Ballyduff), Daragh Carey (Listowel Emmets); Robert Stack (Beale), Darragh Conway (Finuge) 0-1; Jerh Brosnan (Moyvane), Cormac Dillon (Duagh) 0-8 (5f), Jack Sheehy (Ballydonoghue); Darragh Foley (Tarbert) 0-1, Rory Mahony (St Senan’s), Jack Sheehan (Tarbert).
Subs: Keltyn Molloy (Finuge) 1-0 for Sheehy (40 mins), Rian Quinn (Moyvane) for Sheehan (43 mins), Robbie Foley (Ballydonoghue) for D Foley (48 mins), Tony Boland (Listowel Emmets) for O’Keeffe (58 mins), Patrick O’Connor (Moyvane) for Segal, injured (69 mins), Jamie Moloney (Moyvane) for Quinn (76 mins), Cathal McElligott (St Senan’s) for Brosnan (80 mins).
REFEREE: Maurice Murphy (St Michael’s/Foilmore)

North Kerry way too reliant on Cormac Dillon for scores, cost them tonight. Stephen Palmer was outstanding for East Kerry, North Kerry should have switched his marker sooner. North Kerry goalkeeper Kieran Mackessy had a great game making a good number of saves and kicking some excellent placed balls. Darragh Conway was excellent for North Kerry at midfield also. East Kerry slightly the better team and deserved to get through I think. The standard between the 2 semi finals was miles apart, East Kerry should definitely win the final.

Tough conditions for football yesterday evening, especially in the 2nd match. The standard was poor in the first match and in the 1st half of the second semi. Mid Kerry just about deserved their win, but they were helped by goals at the right time. Jack O'Sullivan was playing well for Kieran's before he went off injured, Niall Collins had a great game too. He was badly missed for the last few minutes when he was carried off. Mid Kerry's Darragh O'Connor did well in the 2nd half scoring a couple of very good points, but they were very reliant on frees to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
In the next match, I thought that North Kerry should have been a lot further ahead early on, but missed frees and poor decisions didn't help. A couple of handy frees at the end of normal time and extra time helped them. It's hard to say who the better team was though. North Kerry had a very strong spine, with Segal and Conway very strong on the ball. Injuries to Segal and Dillon didn't help them, and Rian Quinn being taken off in extra time puzzled me. I thought that he had been doing quite well after he went on. Dara O'Callaghan had a great game for East Kerry. Mark O'Shea was good too, but North Kerry could never get a handle on Stephen Palmer. It's great to see a corner forward being so direct....when he got the ball, he turned and took on his man straight away. I'm not so sure that East Kerry will have it all their own way in the final though. They have a few chinks that Mid Kerry could expose. Mikey Moriarty was a huge loss for Mid Kerry. If he's back for the final, they'll have a more balanced midfield and forward line. They've been very hard to score against in every match so far, so I'll hesitantly give them the nod to dethrone East Kerry.

Quick one for anyone that might be able to answer, at the North and East game last night the weather was horrendous as stages, the Gaa announced that changing rooms were to be again made available, just wondering why then had we young men resorted to getting dressed in the ‘shed stand’ at the Mitchels end having been at that stage over two hours out in the driving rain. Though it was a bit disrespectful
Looking at the clubs involved some would have been hour plus before they reached home for a hot shower.

I thought that the players were treated badly alright, especially the substitutes who weren't allowed to use the dug outs in the bad conditions. It was also very hard on the team managements...when they needed to make changes quickly, the subs were in the covered terrace at the end of the pitch.
Regarding the dressing rooms, this is what the Gaa sent out....
"Dressing Rooms In the South, where all individuals are vaccinated the full use of showers and changing rooms is permitted. However it is advised that time spent in dressing rooms or showers should be kept to a minimum and that where possible, pre-game or half time team talks should take place outdoors.
Where individuals have mixed immunity status the use of Dressing Rooms and Showers should remain pod based (with usage in groups of no more than 6 at any time)."

agreed players should be in dugouts ,also to lose out on peno s is a horrible way to exit chship on the match east kerry were creating goal chances but not taking them so when north kerry took their goal chance in extra time to put them 3 up it was looking good for them but east kerry replied

Sticking with the same two teams.
North Kerry U15’s had a fine fine win over East Kerry this morning in the County Quarter Final in Tralee. 1-16 to 0-06. , played really good ball, there is a visible team ethic and bond there.
Great mix of players all comfortable on the ball, even spread of scores too from the six forward men.
Playing in semi now next Sunday against Mid Keery.

Having seen Mid Kerry twice and East Kerry in their semi last weekend, ya you'd have left Tralee with East Kerry as the favourites in your head- Mid play a very stifling game, I wouldn't say negative but they restrict as opposed to kill off. St Kierans were probably the better outfit last Sat but a lucky goal changed it.
Out of curiosity - did keel's Evans pick up Parker? I was thinking they would have sone clash if they paired off.. Evans has impressed me both times I've seen and Parker killed NK with his pace last week.

Co. Board have fixed for Churchill, between that now and Healy Park last last week, it just shows the respect this competition is getting from the powers that be.
