Ya, I see your points Annascaultilidoe, I just think in fairness the inclusion of Breen, O’Breagloich and the retention of Foley at full back is serious progression and acknowledgment of the improvement of the defensive system of play.
I just feel Moran’s inclusion is a slight step backwards. As one poster alluded to above, we keep making the same errors at key times in key games, with out the safety net of the qualifiers, I think we have to go all out and play with fluency with no cracks or weaknesses. In this regard there would appear to be better options on the bench that can play our new fast ball system of play.

I see www.nowtv.com/ie are offering a 2 month sports package membership for 30 eur. Probably the best of the legal routes available for anyone looking for a quick fix for the Munster Championship games. Offer ends at the end of June.

Annascaultilidie, that's three 'I hopes" in the one post regarding Moran. At this stage we should be expecting and not hoping, we have better options on the bench that can play this style naturally as opposed to being half forced. Do agree with you 100% on Tommy, he is as effective in our play as he is as an upsetting agent to oppositions defensive plans. Dublin being forced to move McCarthy is the prime ex sample - they lost an attacking platform to protect their backline My hopes are representing my best wishes for David Moran that this year goes well for him. Time waits for nobody and catches all of us all eventually. Moran is lucky to be in that 15.

Not sure I agree on Moran being lucky to start - the alternatives are Adrian Spillane & Jack Barry but for one reason or another neither has grabbed their chance when given the opportunity- Jack has had an injury riddled couple of years whilst Adrian just doesn’t seem to cut it for me - Moran has made a couple of mistakes in recent games but we need his physicality in around the middle plus his experience could be invaluable alongside Diarmuid O’Connor.

Paudie Clifford very impressive in what was a predictably facile victory. Onwards and upwards.

Defence was very good. They are improving all the time. Jason Foley did very well with the ball across the square. Goalie started well enough but struggled at times when Clare pushed up.

Fitzgibbon was poor and Ryan will challenge. Paul Murphy should be on that team and farcical that he isn’t. Everything else was as expected. Hopefully Cliffords injury is not much to talk about.

Where do you start with that,
Seems strange after winning so well but it was rather underwhelming all be it against a solid division 2 side in Clare.
Kicked awful amount of wides.
Keeper cracked under pressure and that's nothing to what he will face so I think after a good league he has played himself off that team.
I'm more impressed with Diarmuid O'Connor with every game. He is a serious athlete and just what we need in MF.
Upfront Seanie was class and David was below par even though he kicked 1.6
Gavin White is also turning into a real player for us really impressed with him too.

I think that White might actually have to be moved into 6. It all seemed a bit of a chore after the 10th minute... but then the scoreline put up is huge. Better forward lines will seriously punish us for the looseness for sure.

Happy overall. For a team playing poor for the majority of the match, to rack up 3.22 is nice. Defence was fine, there are issues still but they can be worked on. I'd be more worried if the defence were perfect as you don't have anything to work off. Foley must stay at No. 3. PK should have brought Murphy in for a few minutes at least. Great hands by Geaney for the last goal. For a poor game, by his standards, 1.6 for Clifford. We are blessed to have him.
Tipp next. One game at a time.

Hard to read too much into that - Gavin Crowley was poor with Cleary kicking 4 points from play - Tom O’Sullivan continues his comeback and again looked rusty; midfield did what they had to do & upfront we were best served by Paudie, David & Sean O’Shea - Paul Geaney still does not look like a wing forward & Killian Spillane looks ready to start - Tipp in two weeks when hopefully more than 200 can attend.

I think we need to be happy with that. Clare are a decent team who have a good structure & fitness and good footballers also. We put up a big score and defended quite well also. Gavin Crowley struggled on the Clare center forward and its not the first time that Gavin has struggled with a pacy forward. On the newcomers P Clifford was very good and is a real addition. He is ideally suited to the modern game. Mike Breen was yet again very solid, defended well, tackled well and was always available for a pass. I feel ultimately Mike will be our no.6 long term. Jason Foley although certainly not a newcomer does seem to be more comfortable in the central position rather than the corner. Our goalie did ok overall but did get rattled a bit in the 2nd half with the Clare press. My man of the match would be Gavin White, great controlled aggression both defending and going forward and covers so many runners coming through from the middle third.

Breen to centre back might be sooner rather than later - Paul Murphy could then be restored to wing back or alternatively Morley could do a job there.

We expected the big win, some stars continue rise and shine in doc , pc, gw outstanding so’s , David quite by his own Standards although with 1-6. We can say we are happy, but very ragged at times, intensity drops off, teams waltz into our square, work to be done, need to improve the team performance the next day, a few lads were not influential today and everyone needs to make a small difference for the big day. Well done tonight lads, on to Tipp next. R

I understand that David Clifford's shooting stats in 2018 were off the charts and he was in a class of his own.
Although I think he is irresistible today, much more of a playmaker unselfish mover, and goal threat, I would be interested to see where his point shooting stats are in comparison to then.

Very impressed with Gavin White tonight, he has gotten stronger and has added real aggression to his game as well with a couple of great hits tonight. I would have liked to see him take the goal chance that was on offer instead of opting for the point. Paudie Clifford was very good as well as was Seanie O'Shea while most others won their individual battles with the exception of Crowley perhaps but he was marking a very good player. The most disappointing thing from a Kerry point of view was how easy Clare got in for their goal, this continues to be an issue for us.

We cant expect Kerry to excel every game. Cork could get a real test against Limerick. So could we against Munster Champs Tipp. But I think we will see real Kerry v Cork July 25th in the Park.

Good performance today - Clare are a very good team - pity there are no qualifiers as I think they could have gone a long way.
A poster above saying to put Paul M back on the wing ...... that would be ok but we cannot have him and Brian o B in same back line, and especially not on the same side. Please have a look at the Dublin league game first half - it was so obvious that they were being targeted. I think Breen has to stay at wing back, and I would go for Morley behind him. Its tough on Paul but I think he could be a superb option off the bench when teams are tiring.
Gavin C was on a very good player today - he would get on most teams. I thought Gavin did quite well on him- would not be moving him from centre back.
I thought Paudie C was MOTM. He is the missing link over the last few years - his ability to turn defence into attack is unreal - superb passer of the ball and always has the head up looking for the best options.
Paul G gets a rough ride on here - he did well again today and his pass for the last goal was superb. In a tight finish I would always want him to be the man getting the ball.

Gavin White is the real deal. An absute thoroughbred. Sean O Shea is in the same league.
Kerry need to win a shed load of All Irelands with the talent we have currently.

My biggest concern is that I might not get to attend the Munster final (should we overcome Tipperary). What will crowd allowance be by end of July. Its nothing sjort of a disgrace to only allow 200 into a 50,000 capacity stadium.

Poor enough performance. Will need to improve loads as we move on. Looked rusty. Kicking was poor. Fitzgibbon won't make it. Looked a little out of his depth.
Jason Foley looked solid full back is his spot. Mike Breen did well on his debut. Crowley was poor. Gavin White was outstanding. Great pace. Can score and defend . Has it all.
David Moran did ok but he's not at that level anymore as a starter. I would go with Barry and O'Connor.
Sean O'Shea was outstanding. Fantastic player. Clifford was his usual dangerous self and his brother did well.
Plenty to work on for the next game.

Must say I totally agree on the defensive point, I also would have Morley in for BoB behind Breen. That is a physically strong back line with pace also. On PG, great balance and pass but I think he is at the beginning of the end of his county career - he doesnt have the legs, tho he has the brain. He has just about threaded water in all league games and again last night and there is no doubt he will struggle later in the summer against the racehorses of Donegal and Dublin. One positive with him starting is that it means we have the man that is excluded K Spillane guaranteed to make a real impact when he comes in, as evidenced again kast night.
