Maybe one of the Naries on here would ask their clubman to explain the Morley decision to us. Central Appeals Committee Chair: Matt Shaw, Clonkill GAA CLub (Westmeath), Julie Galbraith, Buncrana GAA Club (Donegal), Neil Sheridan, Balla GAA Club (Mayo), Willie O’ Connor, Terence O’Rahilly’s Tralee (Kerry), Tom Farrell, Tang GAA Club (Westmeath), Eddie Hughes, Raonaithe na Croise (Armagh), Paul Foley, Patrickswell GAA Club (Limerick), Gerry Kavanagh, Stradbally GAA (Laois), Enda Tiernan, Cloone GAA Club (Leitrim). I'm not part of that club but he had nothing to do with Morley's decision so I don't know where you are going with this.

I don't see why they would've overturned the red card in fairness.
Watching the incident at the time, i said to myself that could easily be given as a red before the card was brought out as it was a head high tackle on the reckless side even if it was accidental.
Hardly the scandal of the century anyway.

Our defence this weekend is not about the 6 individuals selected to start, but more so how they perform as a unit, this includes our MF and tracking back forwards, improvement is required if we are to reach the summit this year. Tyrone maybe in transition, but there athleticism and physicality is very similar to the dubs, so they will test us for sure, but with our fire power, I expect we should win by 3 to 5 points. A clean sheet would be a positive for our defence.

A problem in my opinion Mike is that when Kerry play with this fear, playing defensive (not even over defensive) and with forwards tracking back... well they just stink the place out with the approach. You can say, oh we need to protect the backline, etc. I don't see Kerry winning an All Ireland with that fear.

Fear is one thing but getting the balance right is key for example if you leave the likes of Peter harte off and dont track him then he will cause havoc. The flipside of that is the debacle of 2015 when gooch chased mcmahon up and down Jones road. If cliffords man (say hampsey) goes tearing up the field tomorrow someone has to follow him just not David. It's down to good communication between the forwards to pawn lads off no team is going to leave David unmarked so that leaves a forward of ours free to tag. In the modern game it is all about overlaps so we need at least 4 forwards that are able to work back at all times leaving at least 2 up preferably 3 . That's why I think we should play 4 half forwards so we keep a good attacking shape keeping it flexible so for example you could end up with any of the forwards ending up inside with David and any combination in half forward line we have a lot of players capable of this o shea, paudie Clifford,o brien ,Moynihan spillane to an extent. It's just making sure that we always have an outball if we turn over and the gap to the nearest other player is also manageable.

A few days back, I posted that Cathal McShane had not recovered sufficiently to make a return this campaign. My source appears to be less than reliable - my bad. Hereunder is an article from today's Irish News that may be more reliable.
By Francis Mooney 11 June, 2021 01:00
COMING in as a new management team in the most difficult of circumstances, with their efforts impacted by the pandemic, Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher had one key objective – to keep Tyrone in the top grade. After their opening day defeat to Donegal, they followed up a five-point win over Armagh at the Athletic Grounds with a draw with Monaghan in Omagh which was enough to preserve their top-flight status and set up a semi-final clash with Kerry in Killarney tomorrow. However, although that was one goal crossed off, Logan still believes there is more to come from his Tyrone team. “It’s critical. As a starting point this year, one of our key objectives was to stay in Division One," said Logan. “We just made it by the skin of our teeth, but were there and we’re happy to be there, and very happy to be heading to Killarney to play Kerry in what should be a good contest.” The next major challenge is the Championship and an opener against Ulster champions Cavan on July 10. Preparation is everything, and competitive football is the perfect means of fine-tuning a team in readiness for elite knock-out action. To that end, Logan would love to secure a League final appearance, but for that to happen, a Tyrone win in Killarney would have to be paired with a Dublin victory over Donegal in the other semi-final. “There’s no substitute for competitive football, and if we can get two games it would be excellent. “But we start with this one, and it’s knock-out stuff, and let’s see who’s still standing in Killarney at the end of the night. “I know it is strange that a competition is run where there may not be a final, but let’s hope that there is a final.” Allstar full-forward Cathal McShane is a doubt for the clash with the Kingdom. Complications in his recovery from a serious ankle injury have ruled him out of all three League games to date, and he will only be risked in Killarney of he is one hundred per cent ready. “Cathal is coming on very, very well, and he is putting himself in the mix every night in training, so let’s just see what happens,” said Logan. “It’s been a very long-standing injury, and we have to be careful how we introduce him.”

Seemingly 200 spectators are allowed In Fitzgerald Stadium tomorrow evening, capacity 35,000 approx. Leinster are allowed have 1200 at the RDS this evening , capacity less than 15,000 but not sure. Shamrock Rovers are allowed 1,000 at their venue this evening , capacity 6,000 approx.
Could anybody explain this disparity?

Dara Moynihan at full forward? I assume he'll swap with Paul Geaney. I hope Joe O'Connor gets a run.

No Paul Murphy either hope it's just tactical interesting team switch Moynihan and geaney and forwards are grand. Good chance for Mike Breen and happy enough with spillane in mf as well brings a bit of dog which will be needed

If Tyrone really want a game with the Dubs at this stage then Killarney will be some cracker, that is if we also want to keep our dignity. The HT scores will also have a bearing on the respective other game!
How about us being more adventurous with throwing lads in at the deep end? I'd like to see more of the likes of Paul O'6 but I suppose management know best.
What's the story with JO'D?
Jason v McShane could be v interesting.
Tyrone were actually favourites v Donegal and which I thought strange, but nevertheless they are formidable and for what it is worth, Ulster teams have in a sense been cancelling themselves out as there is more competition, Kerry will have to be good to prevail so maybe management have pitched our claim spot on, i.e. not being too adventurous, focus is now on the 20-25 probables for 2021.
Gosh we have some wealth of talent there, to a man they have all shown flash of genius already so all we now need is for 'em all to fire together. I always believed this could well be the best team we ever had and while we have our dips, as you do, I then look in awe at the selection and remain convinced I may be on the money.

Anyone with even a minor niggle won't be risked 14 days out from a knockout championship game.
Hopefully that's all it is for the lads that are missing.
Would expect Donegal to make wholesale changes for their game, with that trip to Newry waiting in a fortnight.

When you see how many not in the actual 26, we really have a strong side.

This is one of the best and most balanced Kerry teams we've seen for a few years. In normal "knockout" circumstances I would expect Kerry to win by 6 or 7 points. But as it is unlikely that we will have a league final and as we are weeks from the championship and Peter may use it to do try out a couple of other things we will probably not get such a decisive win.
If they start as selected then Killian Spillane, Tommy Walsh, Joe O Connor, Jack Sherwood and Paul O Shea are subs we are likely to see.

Pity as he is a class player.
Would have really challenged what can only be described as a pint sized Kerry defence, in both lines (save for Foley).
Would appear Sherwood is a non starter for Keane and only Murphy to come back in to this defence, compounding the lack of size. Woll be their undoing later in summer.
Hope Diarmuid, Dara and Paudie build on their very impressive performances to date. A 4th start for Geaney who has done nothing in the 3 games heretofore so he'd want to start making his mark.

Great first-half display but the Tyrone defence is shocking; hard to believe it's them. No exaggeration to say we could have 10 goals by now.

Kerry 6-15 v 1-14 Tyrone. 16 point win, good workout ahead of two weeks time, they got a great feel for the pitch and surrounds as well. League title ... Sort of ... Retained I suppose.
