To be fair he read it right from where I was seeing it too but I see what you mean now. That aside I cannot see how there will be senior training for clubs in may if we only have juvenile going back on apr 26th and not even a mention of it in the government's May and June plans. I hope they can get on with it ASAP and at least get back to club training. The energy and joy that clubs opening up created last year was a joy to behold.

As the 2021 season gets the go ahead it is probably time to call all unplayed competitions to a hault. That is forget about last year’s minor and under 20 competitions and focus on running a strong 2021 season.

Any idea of the fixtures yet? We should have dublin at home Galway away and roscommon flip of a coin? Beating roscommon and staying up should be the minimum I would think be easy enough get relegated in such a reduced format, does anyone care about retaining the league?

________________________________________ All-Ireland champions Dublin will be on the road for all three Allianz Division One league games after being drawn away for two of their games against Roscommon and Galway, and will have to play their ‘home’ game against Kerry at a neutral venue due to their training-ban breach. Counties were sent their own fixtures for the leagues yesterday evening and the Dubs will be in Dr Hyde Park on the first weekend, Sunday, May 16, of football league action. Prior to that Kerry and Galway will meet in the first Division One South game of the weekend in Tralee on Saturday, May 15 at 3pm. That will be followed by Fergal Logan and Brian Dooher's first game in charge of Tyrone as joint-managers when they meet Donegal, ironically Mickey Harte's last opponents in the 2020 Ulster Championship, in Omagh. Monaghan have a home match against Armagh in their opening round but look set to lose that advantage because of their breach of the collective-training ban which is currently the subject of a GAA Management investigation. On the second weekend of action, Dublin are at home to Kerry but that game will be moved to a neutral venue because of Dublin’s breach while Galway are at home to Roscommon on Sunday, May 23. Donegal have Monaghan at home that weekend with Armagh hosting Tyrone. Kerry are away to Roscommon on the final weekend of league action, the same day that Dublin are in Galway. On the night before, Armagh host Donegal and Monaghan have Tyrone in the final round of Division 1 North games.
Does anyone have an explanation as to why a new drawn has been made? Looks like we've now got one home game instead of the original two.

Who knows the inner workings of the gaa fixture planners!! Why do it simply when you can be awkward! Is it a sop to say look dublin had no home games who knows

Cue all the gas characters in the Dublin support letting us know that their home ground is Parnell park and “we haven’t played a home game in ages, wha”

Isn't it strange to think that the inter county boys are back training next week but there is still thousands that cannot return to work

Why did the GAA change the venues for the games from what had been decided before Christmas.
We were meant to have Roscommon and Dublin in Tralee and Killarney.

Club training back in pods of 15 on the 10th of May and matches back from June 7th. Will the county board start county leagues straight away then or will they wait til later in the month to give clubs more of a chance to play challenge matches or whatever else they see fit

I was finding it hard to build up enthusiasm for resumption of the games but I heard an interview with Paul Geaney this evening and my spirits are revived as a result. He claims the break has enabled him to reach a state of physical and mental well-being that the has not experienced for several years. That was hugely uplifting to hear. A fit and properly tuned in Paul Geaney may light up these drearily hysterical times for Kerry football in 2021. A crucial cog for us.

I read a couple of interviews with him today in the Irish Times and the Examiner but neither mentioned his physical well-being!

Great news re geaney we definitely need him , for all the talk of our forwards there is too much of a reliance on Clifford to do all the scoring. Hopefully he leaves geaney in there with him for the year

Another take on the same chat in the Indo, good one of PaidíO'6 re the Cuckoo signalling the real start of the season, warms the cockles of the heart these days and the auld roguery has rubbed off Geaney too. He's with us 10 years, where do the years go? I hope they prove me right as a great panel I believe they are potentially.

Provisional dates are now known for the 2021 local hurling and football season.
A draft fixture list has been distributed, with clubs asked for feedback ahead of any potential changes.
The County Senior Football Championship is due to start on Sunday October 24th, with Round 2 one week later. Semi-finals are pencilled in for Sunday November 14th while the Final could be on November 21st or December 4th.
The Club Football Championships would begin with games on Sundays September 5th and 12th. There would be first or second round matches on Sunday September 19th, with games in Rounds 2 and 3 the following Saturday. Round 3 would be completed on
Sunday October 3rd, with ¼ Finals a week later. There could be semi-finals and finals on Sundays November 14th and 21st, then finals on November 28th and December 4th.
Time constraints mean the CCC is unable to include a Losers Round in the County Championship and ¼ Finals in the Club Championships. Clubs have been asked which of the two they would prefer. Senior clubs have also been asked about potential semi-finals in the Senior Club Championship.
Matches are still outstanding from last year’s Club Championships and 3 dates have been put aside for these; Sunday August 22nd, Saturdays September 4th and 11th.
There will be County Football League rounds on Sunday June 13, Sun June 20,
Sun July 4, Sun July 18 and Sat July 31, with play-offs the following Saturday. It remains to be seen whether 2 or 3 teams will be promoted and relegated from Divisions.
Dates ranging between June and December have been given for District Board activities:
Tues June 22 Junior
Sat June 26
Tues June 29 Junior
Tues July 6 Junior
Sat July 10
Tues July 13 Junior
Sat Aug 21
Sun Nov 14
Sat Nov 20
Sat Nov 27
Sun Dec 5
Sun Dec 12
The County Senior Hurling Championship is due to start on Sunday August 1st. Round 2 will be the following Sunday and Round 3 the Saturday after that. ¼ Finals are on Sunday August 22nd, semi-finals Sunday September 5th and the Final a fortnight later.
The Championship would be 3 groups of 3, with the top two to progress. Senior clubs have been asked whether there will be an open or seeded draw to determine the groups. The seeded teams would be last year’s finalists and one of the beaten semi-finalists. 2 of the group winners get byes into the semis; this to be decided by a draw or by scoring difference. The remaining group winner would play in the ¼ Finals with each of the group runners-up.
The preliminary round of the Intermediate Hurling Championship is in for Tues Aug 17, ¼ Finals on Sat Aug 28, semi-finals on Sat Sept 11 and the Final on the following Sat.
Dates for the Junior Championship are Wed Aug 18, Sun Aug 29, Sun Sept 12 and Sat Sept 18.
Division 1 Round 1 of the County Senior Hurling League is set for Sat June 12, Round 2 on June 20, Round 3 on the 27th, Round 4 Sun July 11, Round 5 the Sunday after and the Final on Sun July 25.
Divisions 2 and 3 of the County Hurling League are to start on Wed June 16, with Round 2 a fortnight later. Round 3 is in for Wed July 7, Round 4 on Wed July 21, Round 5 for Wed July 28 and the Finals on Mon Aug 2.
District Board dates are Sun Nov 14, Sat 20 and Sat 27.
In hurling and football if time constraints were to prevent both U19 and U21 competitions teams are asked to prioritise their options:
Option 1-U19
Option 2-U21
Option 3-U20 competition instead
Option 4-U20, confined to over 17s and under 20s
