Team i would go with for next week keeping in mind the weather aswell.id go with peter at corner back think he was playing well there last year in the league and gavin (if available) is a tough nut we need a few battlers in this team to go with the speedsters. I think we will play with three in the middle so diarmuid to drop back and moynihan to wing forward 1.Ryan 2.Peter crowley 3.morley 4.tom sull 5.murphy 6.gavin Crowley 7.white 8.moran 9.barry 10.diarmuid o connor 11.sean o shea 12.stephen o brien 13.brosnan 14.Clifford 15.moynihan i would expect no changes from last 2 games

I'd expect the same starting line-up as the league (part 2). I'd love to see Paudie Clifford at centre forward at some stage and see if Seanie could work at midfield.

Must have been carrying a knock of some sort recently but given he got minutes against Donegal, I assume he's fully fit now for selection. Was a key player last year.

Id be surprised enough if he goes with the exact same team tbh i think he was just getting game time into peter Crowley and maybe trying out ronan buckley id be surprised if barry and o brien dont start. Id be happy enough either way anyway.

Team picked probably wont be the team that lines out anyway going by previous form.
I think Gavin Crowley may come in for Peter. Thought Peter struggled against Donegal, albeit on one of their best forwards.
Jack Barry midfield, Diarmuid O Connor for Ronan Buckley and Stephen O Brien for Michael Burns would be the other changes I would like to see.

A lot of athletes who suffer ACL injury find it difficult to return to pre-injury levels of performance in their first season back playing, despite the resolve and will of an individual. Previous confidence and sense of invulnerability is a delicate balance. Peter is nowhere near where he was prior to injury and will take a bit longer to get back to his old self.

Tomás O'6 was surprised Paudie Clifford didn't get game time vs Dgal so hard for the rest of us to have any idea what's coming down the tracks, even what's around the corner. What with behind closed-doors training and now the same for games - we'll have to start checking their teeth to make sure they are who they say they are, a bit like Trumps missus, some say it isn't her in some of them photo shoots, the smile is too genuine or else she knows something we don't.

Peter was a great in the making and hopefully he'll get back on track. On that same note someone was saying Tom Parsons' recovery was also bumpy, and did he get a bad one, apparently the worst some medics saw, only for modern medicine on the spot he may never recover.

Who is the referee? Noticed an awful lot of off the ball stuff last Sunday between Donegal and Tyrone. Poor linesmen that didn’t intervene

From my point of view, I’d have no problem with a variety of forward permutations. I remain concerned with No 2 and No 6. I thought Graham O’Sullivan would make steady progress and claim a permanent position in either of the two corners. He’s had a very average year so far but I can’t say if that is injury-related or whatever. The same could be said of Peter and while he needs game time, I would prefer if he didn’t start.
No 6 is such a pivotal position. Long term, it's essential that we get a settled, steadying, and influential player there. I read elsewhere that Jack Barry could do the job. The other names that come into the picture are Gavin Crowley, Peter Crowley, and Jack Sherwood.
That is where the big calls are going to be and there aren’t many opportunities to figure it all out. Other years, there would be challenge matches and plenty of in-house stuff to make those judgments, but not this year obviously as the whole business is condensed into such a short period.
Referee, Derek O’Mahoney (Tipperary)

Id lean towards Gavin on sunday myself , and have peter at 2 with sherwood to come off the bench he made massive impacts doing that last year. We need to have a really strong bench and i think Sherwood is a huge part of that.

very low key build up to Sunday on the forum I just don't have the stomach for sport these days. It's just not the same without fans and I think a lot of people are in the same boat.

It seems as though we're quite removed from the whole thing this year. 8 months since we've seen the team "in the flesh", no atmosphere at the matches we're watching on TV so hard to get as revved up as normal.

Usually you'd be getting your tickets, travel arrangements and social arrangements for the game sorted now.
You might go to the pub for a pint or to a club game or training in the run up to Kerry v Cork and talk about the game to different people. Not allowed do that anymore of course. Or talk about the games with your workmates. Lots of people can't do that now either.
So I can see how its hard for many to get excited about a match you could and maybe should be allowed attend. I saw a stadium with people socially distanced in Hungary last night. I can only assume Covid has been wiped out in Hungary.
For people used to 'consuming' these games on TV I guess it won't be any different.
On the ref, he has always given Kerry a fair shout IIRC. Hopefully with Tipp looming in the Munster final he wont be inclined to favour the underdog.

I notice that Mark Keane is a sub on the Cork team. I thought AFL players were not allowed play when back in Ireland. Didn’t Mark OConnor get into trouble over that. Perhaps, Mark has returned for good. Should be an asset for Cork.

Jason is out of favour with 'Forum selectors', just like he was with PK until he wasn't. I also noticed him being told off to by a few laddos towards the end of the AI replay. A case of a defender can never play well as he gets the blame, in this case for team issues, i.e. we didn't convert enough. Still I'd qualify that as I haven't seen him in the flesh in a while and whatever about forwards, TV doesn't show tactical work done by defenders, and less so those tasked with the hardest job as vs Tyrone and Dubs. Who in the whole country could do a better job on McShane?
Still it looks like we now have plenty of competition that maybe we didn't before and only time will tell if have we a vintage crop of greats or a batch of good ones.
Looking at the Clubs of that Rebel team has me wondering how interesting a comparison it would be for our NK project given the greater diversity there - more of the hurling ingredient in the mix, yerra all for another day when there are no arguments in the air.
Enjoy Sunday folks and hopefully things might go our way, ah jazus I just can't wait to tog off, nothing beats pulling the auld jersey on down over the auld ceann!
