Didn't know that but if true it could b d reason, awful kick in d teeth to d ordinary club player if true Tough alright for teams training away and suddenly everything could be put on hold. Not enough weeks left to finish competitions. If you look at Spa, they are at the quarter final stage of the county intermediate and the O'Donoghue Cup. So a possible 6 games. Only 2 more weekends before Kerry play Monaghan and Donegal on October 17th and 24th, with someone like Dara Moynihan likely to be involved. Hard to know what's going to happen now. Presume O'Donogue Cup would go ahead without county players, but not the county Intermediate.

The district competitions should not be delayed this year for the less than 1% of footballers who are inter-county.

Im not denigrating these competitions but we clubs already have leagues club championships and a county championship where going forward clubs should have county players surely this is enough?

I think this is already happening to some extent at least. The rate of intercounty man absenteeism has grown a fair bit from club line ups in the last week or 2.

Edit* Didnt realise there were a few games played in 2020, i thought they all started this year

No surprises in those semi-finals. Goals win games and Spa got them at the right times.
Crokes have a good bit of business to do yet in the season so no surprise that they got back to winning ways.

1989 was the last time Spa were in the O'Donoghue Cup final.
Both semi-finals this year featured individuals with very high scoring returns...Tony Brosnan bagged 13 points of Dr. Crokes tally of 0-22 versus Rathmore, while Dara Roche from Glenflesk also scored 13 points out of Glenflesk's 0-15 in their loss to Spa.

Imagine David Clifford at FF with Tony Brosnan and Killian Spillane either side of him. Darragh Moynihan, Paudie Clifford and SOS then - that'd be an unbelievable forward line with a great mix of hard work, creativity and fire power
