No chance of a game this weekend. Mayo covered in snow, red warning in play in proximity of county. Looking like next weekend.

I know it's off point but someone just told me of report on Meath match in The Kerryman and which is excellent, last time I read one there 'twas sad. Mayo will tell much more of where Kerry areDry and calm in Donegal so game may go ahead, can they do anything if there is snow cover on the pitch?

"people are being advised to stay indoors" is the message....yet they expect the Kerry team, officials and supporters to drive right throught it and of course those from Mayo who live further down West travelling home.
massive disrespect for people , what are they waiting for?

Best thing is plan not to travel. I couldn't justify risking my ass for a league game. Remenber you have to get back too.

I was just chattin to someone in Mayo and they say they are getting contrasting weather reports within a small area, those lines on the forecast almost shout out when and what we will get, I wouldn't be so quick to nail HQ, well not just yet anyway!
On a more positive note I'm thinking that we have really great times ahead with that panel and the strong pipeline, I think it is only a matter of time before we click, a Mayo colleague thinks it might get boring like 70s'/80's though Galway might have something to say about that. Still I think our depth of talent is like never before and that panel would have a few Sams already if it weren't for 'the greatest team ever!'

Best outcome all around. Evening games on the other side of the country are a disaster.

is the 1.00 thrown in for RTE i wonder? TG4 have exclusive live TV rights for Sunday league matches. They are showing live hurling at 2. I doubt RTE will be allowed show Kerry game.

is the 1.00 thrown in for RTE i wonder? I presume it is to allow players and supporters get home early on Sunday. All should be on the road home by 3.

Many points do Kerry need to be sure of not getting demoted, 7?

It will be heavy going, suit us, and Maigh Eo must win, share a thought for them with the week they are after, they will always play purist entertaining football so they deserve our respect.

back to the game so. I assume Aidan O'Shea and Diarmuid O'Connor will battle in the middle leaving Barry to run midfield. Burns and O'Brien so far delivering good ball to the full forward line. Clifford, Geaney and O'Sullivan well able to outscore Mayo, especially if we Sean scoring as well. The worrying thing though is that we don't do well with teams running at us and Mayo's strong point is running at teams We could really do with Peter Crowley, but with Morley, Murphy and White we have three players that will attack so it's key to keep the pressure on Mayo, not giving them to chance to run at us.

In fairness, the pitch itself didn't look unplayable; it was definitely in better nick than Edendork was the last day. Granted, the wind & rain were brutal but that's not normally sufficient grounds for a postponment.

Dean Rocks shot in the first half exemplified why it shouldn't have been played. Heading over the black spot...nearly hit the corner flag.
I have decided I am not going to Castlebar. Its not a great surface in normal conditions.
Omagh pitch was only marginally better than Edendork

A Tyrone man tells me it was an awful event, Dubs wanted postponement, I think Tyrone saw their opportunity and who can blame 'em, vs Dubs you take every chance you get, Dubs used to good surfaces!
Maigh Eo now under more pressure after Tyrone win, if poor conditions favour home team, what with anti climax of travelling squad, then any advantage our younger boys have in heavy ground is somewhat offset by home team sleeping well at home. Weather throws up surprises!
BTW will Eir broadcast it at 6pm Sun as was scheduled?

There is a good chance Tyrone would have lost both the Kerry and Dublin games on a normal pitch.
