I must admit that I don't like the fact that a club could lose home advantage this weekend if their pitch cannot facilitate live streaming.
Templenoe better pray that all the tourists in the area don't mess up the broadband speed on Friday.

Templenoe and Kenmare set for historic clash in Kerry “One always wants to come out on top in a local fixture like this,” says Templenoe manager John Rice. T THURSDAY, JULY 30, 2020 - 20:02 PM EOGHAN CORMICAN
Templenoe host Kenmare in the second round of the Kerry club football championship on Friday evening. Throw-in is 7pm and there will be history made when proceedings get underway, this being the first time the two neighbours have met in a senior championship fixture.
According to Templenoe manager John Rice, this game also represents the first time they have crossed paths since 2016.
That was the year, don’t you remember, when they lived in each other’s pockets. The divisional side from that neck of the Kerry woods - Kenmare District - went all the way to the county senior final, Templenoe and Kenmare accounting for 14 of the 15 men who paraded behind the band that wet afternoon in Killarney.
Once the parading had finished, though, the divisional side proved no match for a Crokes team near the top of their powers and a week later, the Templenoe and Kenmare lads went from being teammates to county intermediate final opponents.
Kenmare took home the silverware and local honour, Templenoe eventually getting their hands on the same canister in May of last year.
Kenmare’s promotion four years ago meant they were no longer eligible to line out alongside the neighbours for the divisional side, and it also meant the two clubs weren’t meeting in the championship.
Added so to the history being made tomorrow, there’ll be a bit of reacquainting too.
“The clash of the neighbours always draws plenty of interest. One always wants to come out on top in a local fixture like this,” says Templenoe manager John Rice.
Learn more “Even though we are neighbours, we wouldn't have played Kenmare since 2016. A competitive fixture between the two of us just hasn't arisen. We were in Division 1 of the league for a few years, they were in Division 2. Then we dropped to Division 2 last year, we were relegated, and they got promoted to Division 1.
Normally, we’d be playing senior championship alongside Kenmare as opposed to against Kenmare.
For Templenoe, survival is the name of the game this summer. They’re by a distance the smallest club in the senior bearpit.
Rice reckons there are no more than 300 houses in the locality, of which a small percentage would be holiday homes.
When he has everyone fit, Rice’s panel stands at 26-men strong. Unfortunately, not everyone is fit at the moment. Kerry senior defender Tadhg Morley did not feature in the club’s first-ever senior championship fixture last weekend - an 11-point defeat away to Crokes - and he will not see action against the neighbours either.
A tight hamstring is what is keeping the 2019 All-Star nominee sidelined.

Picture: Brendan Moran/Sportsfile Whoever finishes bottom of Groups 1 and 2 in the Kerry club championship will contest the relegation final, the loser of which, barring a lengthy run in the county championship, will play intermediate football next year.
With Templenoe desperate to avoid going into their final group game against Kerins O’Rahilly’s without a win, securing local bragging rights is nearly as important this evening as it was back in 2016. Kenmare, for their part, are in a much healthier position having won their opening game against O'Rahilly's last weekend.
“We are just after coming up and ideally, we would like to consolidate our senior status and remain a senior club. That is our goal for 2020," Rice continued.
“We are very tight for numbers down here. Our panel includes three 18-year-olds.
One advantage of the lockdown for clubs with county players is that they - Tadhg Morley, Gavin Crowley, Killian and Adrian Spillane - have been with us and will be with us throughout the summer. The last couple of weeks have been great having everyone around because we need everyone available. Unfortunately, Tadhg isn’t available this weekend. He is a big loss to us.
“Playing senior is a big step up for everybody in the club. It is a learning process, but it’s where we want to be. All we can do is concentrate on Friday’s game and try to get the two points on offer.”
- Friday's game is being live-streamed by Kerry GAA.

The stream was a bit jumpy but worked out overall - any idea what kind of speed your broadband is Back home with him again, he has 16 mb broadband (not great but should be OK for 1 device to watch a match). I'll set him up again and explain the refresh button to him. Chromecast wouldn't be an option for him but thanks for the suggestion fiveinarow. As least I'll be here to set it up for him this time, explaining it to him remotely was interesting😂😂 While it's great that counties are streaming matches, the reality is that some people have technical difficulties watching a match on anything other than on a TV and are, unfortunately, going to miss out on matches. Not having a go at the GAA here (or anyone else).

The game goes off air for a short period after the final whistle to convert to ‘on demand’ - it will be back shortly and then you can watch it anytime for 30 days

A good game but the lack of social distancing was very disappointing.

Kenmare scored a late goal to win 3.6 to 1.11. Crokes to win the other game in the group. Home wins for Stacks and Dingle in the other group Very good game last night. A lot of tight close marking off the ball which you would expect. Killian Spillane excellent anytime we received the ball I just wish he was able to get on more ball. Sean O Se and Gavin Crowley had a good tussle in the 2nd half. All in all a great game and Templenoe very unlucky.. were probably the better team overall but very hard to win a game conceding 3 goals

Ref in the Crokes v KOR game hasnt a notion whats goin on. Disallowed a BJK point that even the Crokes commentators couldnt understand and has given Crokes a few soft frees - once again in the words of Crokes commentators

Crokes deserved winners in the end - just have a much better range of players. Everything for KOR goes through Moran & Savage and both tired towards the end - although Moran was immense overall.

I couldnt watch the game last night and presumed that i wouldnt be able to see it today but after paying the fiver the match materialised. This is a great service. Kudos to the County Board.
The water break after 18 mins allowed Temolenoe to regroup and for the rest of the half they took the fight to Kenmare.
Kenmare had banged in two excellent early goals and were well on top.
For the rest of the game it was pretty even. Kenmares winning goal was from a long ball belted in on top of SOS and it somehow ended up in the net.
Killian Spillane did well despite being tightly marked.
SOB completely out of it.
The shot selection and accuracy from the county players was poor enough in the first half i felt.
Very hard on Templenoe to lose in the end.
For the second week in a row it was the strong start and strong finish that won the game for Kenmare.
The short kickout was seldom used today which is a blessing and no doubt the new rule is helping.
The water break disrupts the momentum of whoever is playing well.
The 10 minute sin bin seems to be an effective tool in cutting out the cynical stuff.

Mick, the fiver gives you access to the matches for 30 days. As someone based in Meath and starved of football, I'm taking full advantage of the streams. From watching matches in person and these matches it seems like the water break is actually a break in the flow, it messes with momentum.

Dingle fully deserved their win today. They built up a big lead in the second quarter where they led 10 to 4 at one stage. Legion faught back in the second half but Dingle held on to win by 2 (13 to 11). Conor Geaney scored 5 from play and Dylan got 2. James O'Donoghue didn't start because of injury but then came on for the last 20 minutes? Legion made several changes to a winning team last weekend which was hard to understand.
The stream for the Dingle Legion today was very poor. It froze 7 times in the first half. Each time I had to back out of the web page and restart the stream. I missed 2 scores as a result. It was much better in the second half with no freezes but then the audio was lost for the last 5 minutes. Very disappointing as I had no issues with the 2 matches I streamed last weekend.

I have fibre broadband so it is not an issue on my end. So far I have streamed 3 matches from Kerry and one from Galway. 2 satisfactory experiences and 2 very frustrating. All 4 from Beoisport.

I didn't have any major issues with yesterday's stream, a couple of blips which only lasted a couple of seconds. Last weekend it was more troublesome. I thought the commentary had improved from last week but to be fair just watching these matches is good enough for me after being starved of football for so long. Dr Crokes streamed their match v O Rahillys but I only caught the last few minutes so won't comment on it.

If you dont like the commentary, why not turn down the commentary and watch it as if you are at the game. Its not like the radio where you cant see whats happening. I thought the commentary on both games i watched were grand.

I thought the commentary on both games i watched were grand. I thought the commentary was fine. Worked better having the 2 lads together this weekend. Picture was ok for me. I would like the cameraman to be a bit more active when there are breaks in play. At times the camera is fixed on the goalkeeper waiting to take a kick out, while players are getting substituted or booked off camera. Great to have it though. Templenoe v Kenmare in particular was well worth the fiver.
