Am I mistaken? are these kerry players seen as the potentials to be the next kerry senior players. These players are all on strength and conditioning programs by Head of performance so we are told and the future is bright if we change. Cork had 6 of next year u20s on also and left out the stronger seniors and beat kerry by 22 points. Looking at the comparison of fitness conditioning Cork were superior. No they are not seen as that at the moment

Keep yer knickers on.Sure it was poor, and a wasteful exercise for both teams.Well just have to rethink our involvement in the McGrath Cup cos that's not doing anyone any good. Our biggest problem right now is we are now ,in 2020,on our last milking of the 5 in a row minor Cow.The players who have stepped straight up like SOS and DC are one offs. Some like Tom Sullivan are slow burners.A programme outside of competition must be put in place for those who are earmarked to make the grade.Donal Downs O Sullivan was our best forward today but when his U20 year is over what's left for him.Division 5 County league. The juniors should be the vehicle for the like of him whilst training under a programme of S and C by the senior management. can the like of Donal Sullivan be called in to the senior panel once the under 20 is over? do the rules allow this?

Of course he can. Same age as DC and Doc in 2019

Of course he can. Same age as DC and Doc in 2019 but in 2019, DC and DOC couldn't play U20 and senior as per the rules in 2020, can you play both now that the U20 is on earlier in the season?

Farce of a team - there's blooding players and then theres disrespecting the jersey. Falls into the latter for me - show up with boots and you may get a game Wouldn't normally be bothered over the McGrath Cup but, having seen the first half, I'm inclined to agree with you. Men against boys here (literally) and Kerry are being humiliated. Put this with last season's U20 encounter and Cork will start to get notions. Won't do us any good at all. Last 8 in the the All-Ireland senior, won the All-Ireland U20 and minor in 2019. Think they have a bit more about them than notions!

Will this be the under 20 starting panel more or less or are there more lads that will make the starting 15. If its a policy decision to put the u20s out in this competition then ye can hardly blame the players if the Cork senior team hammers them. Will last years minor keeper get picked for the u20s i wonder. Lonergan was there the last two years... A good few of our better u20s weren't involved today so it will be a different team come the u20 championship. Eddie Horan, Dylan Casey, Colm Moriarty, Jack Kennelly, Darragh Lyne and Dylan Geaney are players that weren't involved today that I would expect to be starting or very near to starting. Of the 10 u20s that started today I would predict that only 5 of them would be starting in the u20 championship. Lonergan's kickouts are very poor. Jack O'Connor really liked him. There are 3 other keepers who could start in Devidas Uosis, Mark Kelliher and Devon Burns. Personally I think Burns should start, he is last year's minor keeper.

By my count 10 of the 20 Cork players who featured had played senior championship for Cork previously. Another 3 out of the 20 who featured had been named on championship panels for Cork previously.
By comparison Kerry had one player who had played for the seniors previously- Cormac Coffey who played 3 games in the league in 2018.
The reason it looked like men against boys was because it was men against boys.

Too early so to read much into how the u20s will fare based on today. I thought Kelliher was excellent as a minor. Why JOC didnt go with him or Uosis was strange. Can i also say that football needs Cork back at the top table. The likes of the Rossies and Monaghan dont have the pick to maintain high standards year in year out.

It was an odd selection of players- it was like the opening of a new pitch where a random XV is picked just to draw in a local crowd. Playing senior for Kerry still should still be something that needs to be earned and not used as a trial match for potential under 20 panellists

Am I correct in thinking that Donal O'Sullivan is not U20 this year? In any case, I would suspect that he will be ruled out through injury for at least six weeks. Once again he looked to be a top-class player and possibly forces Cork to think again about their full back. Donal went past him at will yesterday - the only positive from the game for Kerry.

all that team were under 17 in 2018 so they will be under 20 again in 2021
I assume Donal oSullivan was "too old" for u17 that year? Was 2018 the year the u18s lost to Roscommon..... he was very good in that game.
Kerry 1. Marc Kelliher (Glenflesk)
3. Owen Fitzgerald (Gniomh Go Leith) 5. Colm Moriarty (Annascaul) 2. Conor Flannery (Dingle)

6. Dan McCarthy (Kenmare) 7. Dan Murphy (Rathmore) 4. David Mangan (Fanuithe Na Leamhna)

8. Darragh Rahilly (Rathmore) 14. Patrick D’Arcy (Glenflesk) 12. Killian Falvey (Annascaul)

Players who played well in this years county championship- Eoghan o brien, Trevor Wallace looked decent for brendans, Mush from KOR, several lads from EK who haven’t played senior for Kerry, etc

An alternative view....
If Kerry wins the u20 All Ireland we will be saying that playing together in the McGrath Cup was genius.
The u20 competition is around the corner and getting the squad playing together is worthwhile.
Kerry have underperformed in this competition for a long time.
There is plenty of time for the likes of Paudie Clifford to show his worth.

It was a trial match for panellists and not some kind of masterstroke. If our under 20s win an AI then it won’t be down to a team of lads, mostly who haven’t made the under 20 panel, getting a needless hammering.

It’s just like they heard some lad on the radio say it and people just repeat it from there. I don’t think he even started the first 2 games for Brendan’s and had 9 points kicked off him against David Clifford

Keeping JOD very quiet is a sign of a good man marker. As an aside, I’ve not heard anyone on the radio say it and can form my own opinions.

look if Kerry didn't enter a team, folk would be giving out
We have an array of talent in the county especially young talent so no harm to give them a gallop in the likes of yesterday
I don't think any harm was done and it gave players an indication of what standard has to be reached

Kerry have added the following to the senior training panel for the upcoming league: Sean T Dillon, Pa Kilkenny, Cormac Coffey, Barry Mahony, Ronan Buckley, Adam Donoghue - all with the exception of Kilkenny played yesterday - others like Mike Potts, Eoghan O’Brien & Tony Brosnan may not have been available or in the case of Paudie Clifford injured - assume the remaining 10 who lined out yesterday are all U-20?

No harm done. This was effectively a challenge game and it’s good for guys to know where they are in terms of county level.
It’s not like one young fella was hammered here - it was a collective hammering!
Good lessons to be learned.

If referees and linesmen were doing their job he wouldn't get away with the same tactics on another day. I seem to remember JOD being treated on the sideline for a bloody nose at a key stage late in the game following some unsavoury off the ball targeting from his marker.
