Possible alternative options for next year: Goalkeepers: Shane Murphy Defenders: Daniel O'Brien, Mike Breen, Tom Leo O'sullivan, Michael Foley, Michael Potts, Cian Gammell, Ronan Shanahan, Colm Moriarty Midfielders: Mark Ryan, Mike Breen, Liam Kearney, Rob O'Se, Barry O'Mahoney, Paul O'Shea, Barry O'Sullivan Forwards: Donal O'Sullivan, David Shaw, Tony Brosnan, Kevin McCarthy, Paudie Clifford, Fiachra Clifford Are the any other possible bolters for next year that weren't on the extended panel? Patrick Clifford Templenoe? Think out of the names mentioned above only gammell and Daniel o brien are up to the level Let's not write young lads off too quickly! good few lads there are only just out of minor or barely 20 so let's reserve judgement on their standard a bit. they are all 23 now. Are there any more of them county standard apart fron those already involved So from 2014 - Shane Ryan, Brian Ó Beaglaioch, Tom O’Sullivan, Micheál Burns, Killian Spillane, Tomás Ó Sé. and from 2015 - Jason Foley, Gavin White, Sean O’Shea, Graham O’Sullivan, David Shaw. That's 11 players from those two panels that are in or around the current senior matchday set-up. 7 of them played in the AI Final. That's not a bad return at all, you'd be happy if you got it every year.

From 2014, I always thought Mathew Flaherty had what it took to get to the next level. Would have thought he would be pacey enough for it anyway.
From 2015, Dan O Brien another one who I would have thought had a good chance of playing seniors. Mike Breen too. They both also played in 2016. Another of the 2016 backs who I thought was a good prospect was Naughton from Crokes. At the time I thought he was a much better defender than Graham O Sullivan and look at where he has gone onto.

Mark Kelliher Mike Breen Daniel O'Brien Michael Foley Tom Leo O'Sullivan John Mark Foley Liam Carey Barry Mahony Donal O'Sullivan Paul O'Shea Conor Geaney. We would need 3 or 4 from that.
I would look at Conor Jordan too from the Stacks. Conor Keane from Legion

He was so good that he won a Sigerson All Star and Billy Morgan said that he expects him to be a Kerry Senior very soon. I rate him highly and I look forward to seeing how he fares with East Kerry in the Co Championship. On corner backs, Tom Leo O'Sullivan and especially Graham O'Sullivan are two with enough ability to possibly step up and be very good corner backs for the Seniors.

Conor Jordan is like Mike Breen is like Andrew Barry. Very strong but simply does not have the pace to survive against top sides like Dublin. He has returned from injury and is playing with Stacks but the pace comes from wing backs Jack OShea and Jack Morgan.

Conor Keane has great ability, never played too well at minor or U21 level. Has the ability to be given maybe a chance in the league or even at junior level for the time being and see how he gets on.

Has been given a chance by both Fitz and Keane so not sure if he'll get many more. Has ability but takes a lot out of the ball - hopefully decision making will get better as he matures as there's definitely talent in there and would be good to see him giving a good showing in the county championship

A lot of the players mentioned above are average and don’t have the X factor not being critical but just being realistic. K Spillane has X factor. I think Cian gammell could be a really good defender for us. As good as Adrian Spillane has been this year we still need to upgrade on him. We have lots of similar players. Graham O’Sullivan is fit and speedy but a loose marker. I expect David shaw and K Spillane to really up it next year and push geaney for his place (when geaney retires and along jod) we have to ready made forwards long with Clifford hopefully. Shaw can go on to be a star. Big fan. Honestly don’t think Dara Moynihan is up for it either. Jonathan Lyne, griffin and enright will all be shoved out I’ve a feeling. How Robert Wharton and Patrick Clifford van step up as they have serious pace, strong and tall and good on the ball but their marking is letting them down like Gavin white. That sounds like a great half balk line those 3 but hopefully Donnie Buckley can improve them defensively

I agree with your assessment of shaw, Moynihan and Lyne- 100%
Haven’t see enough of Wharton to pass judgement just yet but I think your dedication to pace and power might be slightly flawed- I still like the odd playmaker in there as a way of changing things up

O’Shea did not make the starting 15 for EK in the county U-21 championship , that’s an illustration of how far he has to go. The AFL scouts are on his trail too unfortunately from our perspective.

Poaching from the AFL has the potential to decimate Kerry football. This will only speed up now that O'Connor seems to be making it. Kerry wouldn't have been in Croker this summer without SOS & DC. The next MOC, DC & SOS coming down the Kerry production line are likely to go. AFL has the potential to cast a major blight on Kerry football.

One thing where the law of unintended consequences could apply to is the proposed change in the kickout where (correct me if i am wrong) the kickout moves to the 20 meter line from the 14 meter line. This will probably mean than you need 3 six footers in the half forward line and this is bad news for smallish half forwards.

Will they try and make a big event of the Kerry Dublin game in Croke Park I wonder. Make it the opening game of the league etc etc.
I think I would prefer a wet and windy day in inniskeen rather than an overhyped ‘occasion’ in Croke Park

New Kerry Jersey 2020 In 2017, it was announced that the current jersey would be worn during the 2018/19 season's. O'Neills now have a banner online announcing that a new Kerry Jersey is coming soon (I suppose in the next few weeks). It'll be hard to top the current top I suppose, my only gripe being it is still being sold for €70 on the O'Neills website when I could buy the previous outfit 2 years ago for €28 prior to new launch.

When will we know next years league Fixtures. I need something to hang on to! Apparently the provisional fixtures have been relayed to the counties. Donegal have published theirs and they are playing Kerry in Kerry on Sunday March 22nd. It’s the final league game. We are due to have four away games: Dublin, Mayo, Monaghan and Tyrone I imagine and home to Galway, Meath and Donegal. It wouldn’t surprise me if Dublin v Kerry is the opening league game under lights and Kerry having the “”pleasure”” of clapping the all conquering five in a row champions onto the field.
