Ballydonoghue favourites for this surely. Promotion from division 3 this year indicates good form.

The NK championship thread signals the onset of winter. A bit like when the stewards start walking around Croker with 10 mins to go.

Nice to get two more weeks of the county scene. Ridiculous time lag from the 1st Sept to 1st February.

What about his broth Mitch - a local priest Fr Timmy Dowling tipped him being on a par with Jason? That great Ballydonoghue team fell apart, I thought they'd be around for a good while, shouldn't have rolled over re NK board breaking 2 week rule before final last year!

If the NK board didn't break theior own rule re the break before the '18 final then maybe we would have prevailed, still I think they were better in '17, though in fairness while I heard a bit, I only saw the final and on-screen, a delayed transmission at that, so maybe take that comment with a grain of salt, mu auld head is elsewhere the time that is in it!

Round 1 Winners Duagh are having great year, should get over Asdee Finuge to win Ballyduff to win St Senans to win Desmonds v Listowel very difficult to call. If cox available, Listowel to win Ballydonoghue to get a scare, but win.
With Finuge and Ballyduff out of hurling, we could have a very competive football championship this year
Ballydonoghue or Ballyduff to take the cup home.

Hopefully the Ballydonoghoors will get the regulated break between games unlike last year. There's talk Mitch Foley is on the up - would he be heading for the county panel? Be jazus but tiz how he'll put his big broth under pressure! Funny how Jason didn't come into favour 'til the league final and kept his place then - was it form, injury or what? Has he has the scope to become a 'Buckley Buck', i.e. like Donie made real physical brutes of a few Mayo laddos, and indeed a few of our own too in the day?

How many current North Kerry clubs have played senior championship?
I am guessing Listowel after winning the Intermediate in 2002.
Any others?

Lost in the all Ireland series against Owen Mulligan's club. Played Laune Rangers in the county championship the following year at home.

Finuge won the intermediate in 2012 (lost to Cookstown Fr. Rock's in Feb 2013).
Finuge played two games in the 2013 senior county championship...losing to St. Michael's-Foilmore (1-11 to 1-5) and losing to St. Brendan's (1-10 to 0-11).
Listowel's last time in senior county championship was in 2005, losing their two games to Kerins O'Rahilly's and John Mitchels, respectively.

It suggests that the first drawn team plays at home yet the Asdee/Duagh match is fixed for Finuge?

Tarbert and Beale at 8/1, one has chance of dropping to Division 5 and the other has chance of not making it out of Div 5. Compare that price to Desmonds at 10/1 after surviving in Division 2, granted they have very tricky round 1 game Duagh should be ahead Tarbert and Beale after promotion to Div 3 Finuge should be ahead Tarbert and Beale, they have great chance of promotion to Div 3.

Thats NK champonship. County league positions often go out the window when it comes to the North Kerry Championship.
