the42.ie/4961740Great for the young lads and competition, make them play under different rules than they’ve played all their lives and earlier in the competition with a weeks or 2 notice. Some joke!

3 Kerry Schools through. Judging by the scoreline, it was a close run thing between the Sem and Flannans. Rathmore v the Green, The Sem v the winners of Rochestown/Clon CC. Was talking to someone at it - Flannans got a goal in the first minute and had the wind in the first half - got 6 points in a row in the first half and led at break 1-8 to 0-4. Sem had the wind in the second half - scored 7 points in a row to get it back level. Flannans got a point, the Sem got 3 points and Flannans got 1 point back but couldn't get the equalizer. Ryan O'Grady best for the Sem - hit 0-5. Wind was a factor but not the whole story. Sem were poor in the first half, Flannans poor in the second. Big positive for the Sem is coming out the right side of the result and the way they got back into the match in the 2nd half. Will have to put in a more sustained performance in the tests ahead. Flannans 1-10 St. Brendans 0-14 Serious scoring by Rathmore and the Green in their games. Presume that semi-final will be on in Killarney Rathmore 2-16 Ballincollig 0-6 Green 4-13 Bandon 0-7

Gaelic Football O'Grady class leads Brendan's fightback as Kerry schools have answers Denis Hurley, Corn Uí Mhuirí quarter-finals round-up
k Ryan O'Grady was the star for St Brendan's College as they needed a strong second-half fightback to see off St Flannan's College in the quarter-finals of the Corn Uí Mhuirí (Munster PPS U-19A FC).
At half-time in Ballyagran, the Killarney school - who have won the competition more than anyone else - were 1-8 to 0-4 down after a strong Flannan's display, but O'Grady, who finished with six points, inspired a turnaround as they won by 0-14 to 1-10.
Killian O'Connor gave Flannan's a great start with a goal in the opening minute and Mark McInerney and Diarmuid Cahill helped them to take advantage of the wind at their backs.
However, 'the Sem' began to eat into the deficit point by point on the resumption, set on the way by William Shine, and seven in a row had them level.
While McInerney put Flannan's ahead with five left, O'Grady had three on the trot to put Brendan's in front. McInerney got one back but Flannan's couldn't find a leveller.
In the semi-finals, Brendan's will play St Francis College, Rochestown or Clonakilty Community College, who play today on the Páirc Uí Chaoimh all-weather after their tie was called off due to an unplayable pitch.
Resounding
The winners of that game will be the only non-Kerry side in the last four after Tralee CBS and Pobalscoil Sliabh Luachra both saw off Cork opposition to set up a semi-final clash.
Tralee were resounding 4-13 to 0-7 winners over Hamilton High School of Bandon at Fitzgerald Stadium, the game initially set for Dr Crokes.
Seán Quilter's fifth-minute goal set 'the Green' on their way, with Conor Hayes a constant threat for them. Frees from Eddie Kenneally kept Bandon in it until half-time - Tralee leading by 1-5 to 0-5 - but Cian Purcell struck for a goal on 35 and another from Fergal O'Brien on 43 removed any doubts. Jordan Kissane added a fourth goal near the end.
At Mallow, Pobalscoil Sliabh Luachra also had things their way, beating Ballincollig's Coláiste Choilm by 2-16 to 0-6.
The Rathmore outfit led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time, scoring the game's first five points despite playing against the wind, with James Darmody and Cathal Ryan leading the way up front.
Though Coláiste Choilm improved early in the second half, Ryan's goal ten minutes after the resumption made it 1-10 to 0-4 and another from Darmody ensured they ran out convincing winners.

Final: Saturday 22 Feb. St. Brendan's Killarney v Tralee CBS at 2pm in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. The U19 D Final between Castlegregory and Beara Community School is fixed for 12pm on the Saturday too. With the Kerry v Meath and Kerry Ladies v Tyrone both on the Sunday I'd say the schools games are dependent on the weather next week and they could be moved from the Stadium to the Crokes pitch

Really looking forward to this one. I'm expecting a close, exciting game. My prediction is a narrow win for the Sem.

I didnt get to log in to Facebook page till it was half time and Tralee had built up a huge lead of about 10 points after playing with the wind.
The Sem owned the first 20 minutes of the second half and reduced the gap to a point.
It looked curtains for The Green but boy did they find another gear in the last 10 mins to win going away.
If a lot of these lads are minor this year Kerry will be good again.
A great second half altogether.
Thanks to Munster GAA for showing this. Excellent picture and commentary.

Who was the number 31 for Tralee? He turned the game when he came on with 15 minutes to go. He wasn't listed in the programme.

Mick this competition is under 18.5 - minor is now under 17. Many/most will be too old to play minor this year. Frewen grade probably a better indicator of minor I think.
