Glad to see that Shaw played well. He will get a lot of game time next year. I thought in the replay that some Kerry forwards seemed to be hesitant to shoot if they were not near the D. There were points there for the taking. David has no hesitation and is almost always accurate shooting from 40 to 50 metres. That would give us 5 scoring forwards. Shaw is a top talent- haven’t seen him play in a year tho so I’m not sure of his current conditioning but I felt that he needed to fill out a bit. Will defo be pushing the county panel in the next 18 months Think he is the real deal - pace, good hands & feet, has the ability.

Taibhse, you are right about the dearth of good defenders/defending. The only consolation is that it is not peculiar to Kerry. It seems to be a function of the passing/running game against which it is difficult to defend. I come away from most games with a clear idea of who played well at midfield and in attack but I am left with an empty feeling about who shone in defence. As evidence of this, some posters here have advanced the case of David Shaw and Tony Brosnan for future Kerry inclusion but I suspect they and I will find it difficult to nominate defenders with genuine pretensions to being county standard at the end of the championship.
The same thing more or less is happening in hurling with some ridiculous points accumulation , resulting from the sequence of puckout score, puckout score.

Charged a respectable €8 to see Stacks play Dingle last night but it cost €13 to get into ASP today - double header was the reason I was informed when I asked. So not only did 4 clubs lose home advantage to play double headers but the County board felt justified in picking the fans pockets whether they wanted to watch two games or not. No wonder the attendance was so low in Tralee. E13 exorbitant for a double header? Both matches gave a very good return for that investment with a free match programme thrown in. Some GAA supporters seem to be among the few sports supporters who are constantly carping about admission prices. One word of encouragement for people who find it painful to pay the market value to see matches. Hang around long enough and become an O.A.P. like me. I was asked to part with an extortionate E8, E4 per match! Great value or what. Isn’t that something to strive towards , all you whippersnappers.

Your sarcasm is lost on me, I have thicker skin than that. My point (I will spell it out for you) is why do some fans get stuck with a double header whether they like it or not and have to pay over the odds to attend the game of their choice - there is a limit to how much people can fork out to go to games week in week out. There should be one price for entry to games. I made no claim that 13 was exorbitant - I highlighted the variable pricing.

Your concerns are same price for all matches and the unfairness of foisting double headers on spectators. The solution is obvious then. Have as many double headers as possible and have E13 as the standard price. Nobody is compelled to hang around for both matches. In my experience the usual complaint is not having more double headers.

We went to a first round Under 21 county championship game a few weeks back. 3 of us in the car, €24 euro they charged us at the gate.
I hope they start doing a weekend pass - in the coming weeks there will be double headers on Saturdays and Sundays so would be nice to get into two of these for say €20.

Are the Clifford brothers available to E Kerry for the Stacks game this coming weekend? David got sent off for striking so should get a one match ban. Depends what Paudie was reported for - there was so much going on then - I would be surprised if he ended up getting more than a one match ban.

Why so do the county board print a program when Brendan’s had no intention of lining out as named. No player wore the Jersey to correspond with the program. A fine of €100 per player should prevent it from happening again.

Yes, fairly annoying if you are a neutral and you wouldn’t have sufficient knowledge of the teams.

Did very well considering the blanket defense and terrible conditions. Shaw kicked some monster points from distance in the second half left and right. Galvin White was outstanding throughout and seems to have his confidence back after being messed around by PK.
