" Given our injury situation and our opponent, we have gone past the point of skills or tactics having a large influence on the outcome of the game. This one is all about winning at all costs, do whatever is needed to be done, hit whoever you have to hit, take out whoever you have to take out. Do not take a single fu*king backwards step against this shower. Don’t even think about it. Every minute of every play, going down the tunnel, in the tunnel, front up and let them know, “not fu*king today Sham”. Forget about our injuries, forget about Super 8’s etc. This one is all about payback. Nothing else. The only thing our lads must remember, every minute of every day between now and Saturday evening 7pm, is the way we timidly allowed ourselves to be bullied in every game against them over the last few years. Dragged, literally, all over the pitch. Beaten on the pitch and on the scoreboard. Sucker punched late in games and beaten well with 15 mins to go. Danced through us and cut us open, played the black arts on us, or, plain and simple just battered us. They have beaten us every which way you can think. Sometimes deservedly so, other times luckily, but they’ve beaten us. That has got to stop now. " Just read that over in the mayo gaa blog. It can be addictive reading over the nonsense they post. He starts off saying Mayo need to be cynical and take people out off the ball. Then in the next paragraph gives out about Galway being cynical. And they are all praising him saying he right on etc. Its like a parallel universe over there. I never took much notice of Mayo supporters. Thought they were a bit simple or naive to be honest. But after being introduced to that blog on here a few days back my opinion has changed. They are the most self entitled bunch of a**holes I have ever come across. They are giving out about Limerick being chosen. A siege mentality is grand but that's just nuts Brilliant - hope they listen to this clown and they will be short another few players through either injury or suspension if they manage to make it to Killarney the following weekend.

That Mayo GAA blog is good for a laugh, particularly after games some of the posters lose the run of themselves entirely. I doubt it’s representative of the average Mayo fan, or at least I hope it’s not. They are generally sound enough in my experience, with the odd clown.
I hope it’s them we are playing in the first game. It will be a good yardstick vs the league final. I’d be pretty confident we can beat them in Killarney as long as we keep 15 on the field until the end. That is becoming a big problem lately.

Sat evening would have made far more sense. How about 4 o'clock Croke Park the following Sunday for the two furthest counties. A joke.

The timing does not suit me at all but games have being taking place around this time throughout the history of the GAA.

I cannot understand why people are complaining about 4pm on Sunday. In the name of goodness we have spent all our lives traveling to Croke Park for Sunday fixtures at 3pm/4pm. If the Lord spares me I will happily travel there for our Sunday 4pm date with Donegal . Now, I could empathise if the match was fixed for 7pm. I feel matches for that time slot should be outlawed.

I completely get that 4pm on a Sunday is going to be awkward and maybe even impossible for some Kerry people who live up the country to make it to the Killarney fixture, but on the bigger scheme of things the fact that the Galway/Mayo match is fixed for this day/time should give Kerry an even bigger advantage as (you'd assume) the traveling support will be down and our supporters will be out in very large numbers. It's vitally important to win the home game. Hopefully we'll have an atmosphere something similar to the Tyrone qualifier game in Killarney many moons ago.

Personally i want a full house, A real battle, lets see where we really stand. If we get out of this group we will have earned it.

That thought had crossed my mind I just hope I'm not the only kerry fan in croker a week later though... It's a lot easier to support a team that's winning than a team that's just been beaten. The Killarney game is the key one imo. If we win at home, a nice crowd will go to the Croke park game the following week as this will then become like the old quarter final. Win that and we're sorted in the semi's. I've been to lots of Munster Finals in Killarney and there's a great atmosphere at all the close ones but that Tyrone match that day brought something out of the Kerry people present that I never experienced previously or since. You couldn't think with the noise that day. This needs to be replicated the next day and hopefully it will.

Think it’s all down to who wins Sunday to see what attendance Killarney will get. Galway win, probably 20-25 thousand, mayo win, sold out

Last train out of Killarney to Dublin is 6:28pm...should be manageable from Fitzgerald Stadium. Does all the stops to Mallow, then Limerick Junction and Thurles is all you have after Mallow. Into Heuston at 9:33 they say.
It's been several decades since I was a regular on the train to Dublin after playing club football in Kerry. Usually no time for a bite to eat after a 3pm game that never started on time, as the train was closer to 5:30 out of Killarney.
By the time we'd get to Dublin we would know the result of every game that weekend, as every club seemed to have a Dublin-based player on that train, as well as a report on who played well and who got beaten by various refs and "not neutral umpires" and so on.
It was 6.50 in super old money for the weekend return ticket.

Every Kerry supporter in and around Kerry for game v Galway/Mayo should try and make this ......if Mayo get there they WILL travel very strongly... Kerry team will need and deserve a partisan crowd behind them

Think it’s all down to who wins Sunday to see what attendance Killarney will get. Galway win, probably 20-25 thousand, mayo win, sold out Hard to guess attendances but the figures for the Connacht final ( in Salthill) do not suggest that Galway are well supported currently - 17,600 turned up that day vs Roscommon. Galway have lost a lot of their fans as they are not playing a style of football normally associated with them & are struggling. Mayo/Limerick last year had an attendance of just over 8,000 in Limerick - Mayo, you would think would travel in greater numbers to Killarney but a lot of Mayo fans are based in Dublin and elsewhere so it’s hard to call. What shouldn’t be in doubt though is our own attendance - a huge game, get the win & momentum will start to build.
