I'm sure Sky will let us know what they decide. Is there a time deadline by which the GAA have to notify the Gardaí and civic authorities that an event is taking place? They can hardly wait until the 8th of July to decide whether it's the Sat or Sunday and then give only a few days notice... Last year they announced the fixtures for first round of Super 8s on July 3rd so you are probably looking at next Monday or Tuesday when they decide. I'd be very surprised if Kerry are not playing on the Saturday evening.

I would expect our encounter with Donegal to be played on the Sunday (21st) given the distance both sets of supporters will have to travel - could be a double header if Cork were to progress and meet Cavan - lots of football yet to be played though!

After last year I hope it's Galway on a Saturday evening in killarney be nice to get a bit of revenge !
I see cork will be playing laois or westmeath in the hurling same weekend as the footballers are playing round 4 wonder will it be part of a double header in thurles be great for them if it was might get the support they deserve after sat!

Does anybody know whether Dublin are scheduled to be away away (and not away in Croke Park) against the Ulster or Munster Runners Up or whoever beats them? Basically what should the R4 draw be to get Dublin travelling to Castlebar or Omagh?

Basically what should the R4 draw be to get Dublin travelling to Castlebar or Omagh? dublin vs cork or team that beats them is dublin home game. Then they play roscommon in croke park in the croke park/neutral game. Then away to Cavan or team that beats them so mayo/Tyrone drawing Cavan in r4 is that scenario

Now I wrote a post on here which was about anything but patience but you will struggle to find criticism of any Kerry team and players on here by me.

Who do we want in this realistically? I'd like Galway first up personally and I guess Meath in navan to round it out ( mainly because it's half an hour from me!)
I'd say worst case scenario would be mayo first while they are still relatively fresh, and a trip to omagh last as I believe Tyrone will be the opposite of mayo and get stronger as they go on.

Personally, I'd go for Mayo. Can you imagine, a full house with all the hype, atmosphere, rivalry and all the other stuff that such a pairing will generate?
Winning/losing margins are important in these games. The usual (league) rules will apply if teams finish level on points during the group stages, whereby the head to head result will determine who advances. If the game in question was a draw then scoring difference will be used, as is also the case if more than two teams are level on points.
Winners of Group A play losers of group B and vise versa.

I wouldn't mind having Donegal, Tyrone or Mayo to be perfectly honest. It will be tough yes, however, these are games that players and fans alike should savour. If we are not good enough then fair enough but if we get to a semi final having won those games it would do wonders for this team. It would also be great to see Seán Cavanagh eat some humble pie. It's an easy, throwaway thing to say to get a bit of profile, much like Máirtín Mc Hugh's one trick pony comment on the Gooch a few years ago. Done for profile and that worked out well for him, didn't it?

I want to book a train too and the seats are booking up fast, have to pay more for a flexible ticket as no regulars left on the early train.

Totally agree games against these teams will bring our lads and management on no end, if we can't get out of that group we would have no business playing dublin in a semi/final anyway

Misteallaigh abú it probably did work for Mairtin's profile but 6 weeks later he sat in the all Ireland studio and tried to explain how his native Donegal with his son playing had to play second fiddle to that same Kerry that was missing Gooch.

A few years back I got season tickets from a friend to bring my youngfella to a Premier League match on a Sunday. I booked my flights and later that day saw an add on telly saying the game was on the Monday. Needless to say I wasn't particularly impressed. It ended up costing me a fortune.

Cooper: Kerry haven't given me any confidence this year www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/2019/0627/1057831-cooper-kerry-havent-given-me-any-confidence-this-year/------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well regardless, I've great confidence in the character of this squad to do their best and in this management to get the very best out of them this year. We can ask no more! It may not be good enough win an All Ireland this year but we have to be very realistic. All the pieces are not there yet and some are not ready yet. Seems like everyone can diagnose the problem but no one a solution and this is not really helpful to anyone, least of all the current Kerry players and management. The truth is we all know it's going to need a couple of more seasons, so let's encourage the team and management to do the best they can do this year without the knocking and unnecessary negativity. If we can get out of the super 8s it would be a fantastic achievement for this squad this season. If we're not good enough yet then so be it, we'll get there in the next few years.

Here, would ye not prefer a trip to the Athletic Grounds instead? Kerry aren’t the only team being written off here. Sure Mayo have to put us away first!

Galway or Mayo in Killarney on 13 or 14 July
Donegal in Croke Park
Cavan or Tyrone away in last game
Two wins will be hard enough to get...
Edit: Meath or Clare away in last game...apologies

The game in Killarney now takes on massive importance as I feel if we can win this, we should have 1 foot in the semi-final..would fancy our chances away to meath/clare..the Donegal game would be tricky!!

You could easily see three teams on four points here good group in fairness we can get a bit of revenge vs mayo/Galway the two teams who have effectively knocked us out last two years! Who would we rather? I'd rather mayo because they play football and the crowd they will bring.

Galway vs Mayo are going to knock absolute lumps out of each other next weekend before entering the Kingdom's den. Hard to know who will come through to face Kerry as one could make strong arguments for both Mayo and Galway beating each other at this stage but my tip is Mayo.
