Serious loss to Mayo, all the more so with Ruane gone as well. That's two players that we would love to have around the middle 8. Really can't see Mayo challenging Dublin now and they may come a cropper on Saturday evening against Armagh. Diarmaid oConnors loss as well as Ruane puts Mayo behind Kerry in the chasing pack in my opinion. I wont be that surprised if Armagh win this. Hard to know what Mayo team will turn up.

Andy Moran taken off and Lee Keegan off injured before half time. Mayo will do well to pull through this one.

Mayo there for the taking but Armagh making too many errors. They need to win more off the midfield battle and keep Clarke and O' Neill inside. Clark seems pretty lethargic on the ball, nothing like the exciting young player a few years ago.

Great win for Clare, drawing Cork or Meath will give them every chance of progressing to the Super 8s. Poor result for Kildare, they have regressed under Cian O'Neil. Ding dong battle going on in Portlaoise.

Clarke improved in second half no doubt and was a star for Armagh as was Cohen for Mayo. Why Armagh didn't give Rian O'Neill the last free to try level the game simply baffled me.

Can teams who have played each other already be drawn against each other in the final round of the qualifiers (e.g. Laois & Meath)? Disadvantage for us if they can’t.

So it'll be: Laois Clare Tyrone Mayo Vs Cavan Cork Meath Galway
I'd love to see a draw of Mayo v Galway, Tyrone v Cork Clare v Meath & Laois v Cavan. Or something along those lines anyways 😋

Mayo still alive and will become more of a threat as they progress. The championship will be the better for having both Mayo & Tyrone involved.

The draw I do not want: Tyrone v Galway, Mayo v Meath...

Are these home games for the provincial finalists?

Another thoroughly enjoyable game in the football championship. Armagh were simply heroic playing to the best of their abilities as a team.
Heart breakung for them to lose by a point.
Mayo had it won and then got turned over a few times and nearly got caught.
Glad Mayo pulled through though. Lasts years championship died a death when Kildare beat them.
Clare are another county punching abive their weight given their tiny base.

Are these home games for the provincial finalists? Venues will be determined by CCCC. Last year, Rd 4 was at neutral venues...Cork/Tyrone and Roscommon/Armagh in a double-header at Portlaoise while Fermanagh/Kildare and Laois/Monaghan were both in Navan (but not on the same day). So I presume neutral venues again this year.

It’s some sort of reward for reaching their provincial final.

i favour the neutral venue for the next round. Why should Cork or Meath get home venue over Clare.
If you have four equally strong divisions i would see the merit in giving the provincials finalists home advantage but we dont have that.

If Clare contest next years Munster final they should be sent to Portlaoise to play Tyrone in next years round four qualifier.............

Games in neutral venues can be horrible soulless events. Luck of the draw should determine who has home advantage

I know most games take on a life of their own with subplots but its strikes me that Cork or Meath would not have coped with Armagh last night. Stefan Campbell and James Clarke up front. Mayo went short with the kickouts becauce Jarlath Og Burns was so on top in midfield.
Mayo upped their conversion rate to nearly 100% in the second half. They had to.

Mayo brought huge intensity to the two games v Kerry in the NFL this year that Kerry hadn't seen during the 2019 NFL. Mayo are probably still the top challenger to Dublin on 2019 in terms of strength and conditioning.

A full strength mayo going at 100% maybe. no ruane,Parsons diarmuid o Connor, Gillian just back and maybe Keegan now. Hard to see them doing enough to get to a semi.
