GAA have confirmed the U20 Semi's for St Patrick's Day and they've made Sunday a double header with Kerry Hurler's playing before Dubs & Meath. Not amazing, was hoping to go to see senior footballers, hurlers and the 20s over the weekend/paddys. I suppose at least the hurlers get to play in cp.

It is only a matter of time before games are at a minimum played behind closed doors due to the Corona virus.

Tg4 just after showing the 2013 semi final against Dublin. A couple of things that stand out: I thought there was a perception out there that Gooch didn’t have a great 2nd half. Looking at this he was easily Kerry’s most threatening forward in the 2nd half too. Assisted most of Kerry’s points in 2nd half on top of the obviously brilliant 1st half. Kealy’s kick outs imploded in 2nd half, couldn’t get anything to stick beyond the 45. Maher’s kick passing off either leg was of an extremely high standard. JOD was a joy to watch in this form, what could have been for him if injuries had stayed away It shows how important a free taker is when you see a couple of the frees Kerry missed in first half. The hoofing of ball into Donaghy for the final 10 minutes was painful to watch after carving Dublin open in the first with the 20 yard bounce kick passes

Still hard to watch the end of it.

1995 Hurling Final was on RTE2 last night. A marvellous occasion.
I had forgotten how close the scoreline was at the end. it's only 25 years and yet it looks so quaint, the mad hairstyles, not everyone wearing helmets, some helmets looked completely ridiculous- like upturned hanging baskets. There was zero strength and conditioning being done, for senior players most of them looked so light compared to nowadays.

Tg4 just after showing the 2013 semi final against Dublin. Between them, TG4 and RTE are showing four Kerry games among their other offerings this weather. Following the 2013 defeat to Dublin, we have the Seamus Darby final (April 30th), the 1977 defeat to Dublin (May 24) and the 2005 loss to Tyrone (May 31). C'mon broadcasters, we did actually win the odd game too.

RTE will happily shove Darby down our throats, especially now that Dublin have achieved the impossible. 1982 was one of the better finals of the time. I watched it years ago and was impressed with alot of the long range point kicking, IIRC. Of course the end overshadows everything. Not sure if I'll watch it again though. A point often made on here is that one of the criteria for a match to be declared a classic is Kerry losing. Games Kerry win don't seem to have the same attraction in the media or never achieve 'classic' status. So what games since 1997 that Kerry won do ye think should be declared classics?

The shootout v Galway in 2008.

and the standard was cat by todays standards Yes but some of the skill, particularly the defending by Offaly in the air wouldn't be out of place today. They reached 3 finals in 5 years, winning 2. And the footballers did well in 1997 also.

Zoom Quiz from last night. Not too tricky for people on here but can anyone get full marks without Googling?
Kerry GAA 1. How many county championships have West Kerry won? 2. How many All-Irelands did Kerry win in the 70s? 3. Who played more championship games for Kerry: Tom Sullivan (Rathmore) or Aidan O’Mahony? 4. Who was Kerry captain in 2000? 5. Maurice Fitzgerald famously scored nine points in the 1997 final. Name one of the other Kerry scorers on that day. 6. Which West Kerry man was player of the match and top scorer for Tralee IT in the 1998 Sigerson final? 7. How many senior All-Ireland medals (as a player) has Eamonn Fitzmaurice? 8. What club did the Bomber Liston line out for?
Bonus GAA Questions from the quiz: 1. According to the Terrace Talk website, who was the first person from the Annascaul club to play for the Kerry seniors? 2. Moycullen beat Annascaul by a point in the the AIISF. How many points did they score? 3. Behind the “Big Three”, what county has the fourth most hurling All-Irelands? 4. How many Munster Football Championships do Clare have? 5. How many Munster hurling championships have Kerry? 6. How many senior All-Irelands did Liam Higgins RIP win? 7. How many points did Diarmuid Connolly score in the 2015 AIF? 8. (How many) The number of AIF matches Mayo have appeared in since 1951 --- INCLUDING REPLAYS. 9. A hurler from what county said this: “ 'We're taking this match awful seriously. We're training three times a week now, and some of the boys are off the beer since Tuesday'” 10. Who was this Tipp fan talking to:'Any chance of an autograph? Its for the wife....she really hates you' 11. "There won't be a cow milked in Clare tonight." - Who?

Easy peasy, anyone who didn't know all of them shouldn't call themselves a GAA person - the hardest one on there is re the Bomber, he played for Beale of course, and I knew it, the only one I knew!

We’re saved! I have it from good authority:- Instead of the good old magic sponge, the medic can come on, a quick dose of disinfectant and a UV light fed internally. Job done. There are some really beautiful disinfectants out there, like Bleach and Jeyes Fluid, Alcohol etc.
What a strange strange world.
P.S. If you believe that I have a bag of early spuds to sell to you!

As much as we find the whole idea of 'intravenous Dettol' a source of laughter, there is, of course, a serious side in that we all know that there is at least out there one who will be dumb enough to try it.

Nearly at the €2m target needed to get this little chap medical treatment.
His Dad played for Laois and the GAA community provided huge support.
