It looks a strong team. Some of the posters who were trying to predict the team were fairly accurate. I think Cathal O'Beaglaoich has been carrying an injury in the buildup to this match, otherwise I think he would have been starting. I think it's something similar with Oisin Maunsell. The forwards and the full back line look very strong and Burns is a good goalkeeper. Not sure how the half back line will fare, but all are good players. At midfield Linehan from Churchill is a fantastic footballer but I do not know much about Collins. He wasn't really mentioned when people were predicting teams either but I do know that he has represented Ireland in basketball. Also I don't think it is like last year when none of the players actually lined out at the position that their number suggested (Paul O'Shea wearing 11 playing midfield, Colm Moriarty wearing 5 playing full back etc.)??

Definitely strong team . Didn’t expect Collins to make it. I think with Cork in mind he went for a more physical looking side. I think Curran will start wing back . Hassett in corner forward. Surprised Jack Sheehan and Ruairi Doyle didn’t make the bench at least. It’s good enough to beat Cork I think if they gel. Strong forward line for sure.

Would have loved to made it to Cork tonight but couldn't. I presume there will be no live stream so will it be on radio kerry?

Streaky scoring bursts in this game. Kerry go 0-6 to 0-1 up after only 9 minutes. Cork bring it back to 0-7 apiece after 22 minutes. Kerry get the next 4 points and Cork get a point on the stroke of half time to leave it 0-11 to 0-8 at the short whistle.
Second half opens with a Cork goal to level things, but Kerry have run their total to 3-18 by the time Cork get their next point with five minutes left.
Final score: Kerry 3-19 Cork 1-9
Some scoring from Kerry...good job in getting a response to the Cork goal. A 16 point winning margin.
Good night's work. Congrats to all involved.

Clubs, schools and development squads. A brilliant eco system in place in Kerry now.

"Streaky" is a great term to describe this game. Kerry were classy and clinical for most of the game. They were well prepared and played well in poor conditions, so credit to all involved.
The 1st half was fairly evenly balanced, I would actually say that Cork were better for 15 mins of that half.
Just 3 points adrift, and playing with the wind in the second half, Cork had every reason to be optimistic facing that second half. With their goal bringing the game level it looked like a tough 2nd half for the Kingdom.
But Kerry kicked on from there and their 1st goal really knocked the stuffing out of Cork. They were now 5 points down and Kerry went through the gears from there.
It reminded me of a typical minor intercounty game - when a team gets a run on you at this level it can be a tough station.
Kerry were excellent 1 to 15 and managements big task may be keeping feet on the ground. This game did neither team any favours. Cork are not as bad as the score suggests- Corbett at 11 and O'Donovan at 13 gave Kerry enough of it. They were firefighting in the second half so hard to judge them really.

Great win.
Kerry handled the conditions really well . Some of their call handling and passing was excellent at times.
On the game itself I thought definitely well in it first half . Corbett definitely looks like one for the future for them.
Kerry responded brilliantly to the goal. Kicked some good scores. Jack O’Connor ran the show. Involved in almost everything. Geaney looked dangerous. Hassett and Emmet O’Shea put in a good shift. Midfield won their battle well. The backs as a unit won the battle well. Eoghan O’Sullivan and Alan Dineen for me very good. I think when you consider who didn’t make the panel there is a good squad there this year and if they can get better and get used to plowing each other with each game then no reason they can’t go close again this year. Early yet of course.

Quality isn't hectic so make sure to make the vids as large as possible. For the 2nd goal - check out the dummy on the left foot and the defence-splitting pass on the right to set up the goal. Good finish too. Sweet. 2nd goal3rd goal

That was Kerry's record win over Cork at minor level. Kerry's record wins over Cork at minor, u21, junior and post-war win at senior have all occurred in the last few years.
2019 16 pts at minor level. 3-19 to 1-9. 2018 17 pts at senior level. 3-18 to 2-4. 2017 16 pts at u21 level. 2-16 to 0-6. 2015 12 pts at junior level. 1-20 to 0-11.
In all four games, Cork had home advantage.

Kerry will now play Clare in the next round on the 23rd of May in Tralee. Clare beat Tipperary convincingly last night which surprised me a bit they racked up a big score and could trouble cork next week. Last nights score line was Clare 3:12 to Tipperary’s 6 points.

Clare had already beaten Tipp in the round robin phase of the competition so last night's victory was not too surprising. The anomoly for Clare was their 1 point loss to Waterford - that game saw two late goals from Waterford after the second half was delayed for over an hour waiting for an ambulance for an injured Clare player apparently. Cork having to travel to Clare next week will definitely be interesting as Clare have been scoring well (8-46 in four games) and have only conceded those 2 goals to Waterford (2-29 in four games). Cork will really have to pick themselves up if they want to make the Munster final.

Clare had seven different scorers as well last night, so they're not relying on one or two guys. They had already qualified for the first phase final before the Waterford game so I'm not sure if they lined out as they normally would. Meehan, the full forward is very dangerous, not huge but very fast. They'll give Cork a right test.

I am baffled by the minor set up in Munster. Clare have already had a defeat. They play Cork this week and Kerry next week. If Cork beat them and they beat Kerry they advance to the Munster final as I can make out. Let us assume that Cork beat them again in the final. That would mean that they still advance even though they sustained three defeats! Perhaps I am missing something in my calculations. I would have assumed that the second placed team from the round robin, Tipperary?, would have been Kerry’s opponents.
Could somebody clarify the situation for me.

Only one team (Clare) progress from the initial round-robin. It's all about giving every team a couple of games at least, which is fair enough. Certainly better than the previous set-up where if you lost in the S/F, you were out

From seeing all these forwards at club level I would say that they really are an exceptional bunch. I think they are better than last year's forwards. Each one are capable of being the main man on any given day, and that includes the forwards on the bench like Ryan O'Grady, Kevin Goulding and Dylan O'Callaghan. There are some very good forwards not on the panel as well like Matthew Leslie, Damien Doherty and Cian O'Connor.
This is even more impressive when perhaps the best of the lot in Sean Kennedy from Annascaul is gone playing soccer in England with Sunderland. He was also part of the Irish u17 team that was playing in the European Championships recently that took place in Ireland. Jack O'Connor was also a good soccer player, he went over with Kennedy to England for trials.

Having watched the highlights of the game back this evening on tg4 a few things stood out more to me as I missed a few plays from the stand last week.
From watching it back we played some outstanding football and our kick passing really was a joy to watch we are a team that resort to kicking our way out of trouble besides trying to run it out every time which is great to see and massive credit is due to our management team for encouraging this in our young lads.
The main thing that stood out for me is the quality of our forwards and the mix we have throughout. Geaney and O Shea inside are out and out footballers who can win their own ball and kick a score from anywhere. O Shea point in the first half from the endline and Geaney performance alone was worth the entrance fee. In the half forward line Hassett was outstanding all night and has a brilliant football brain. Then it seemed to me that Lynch and Crowley were our work horses and they ran tirelessly all night which helped greatly to the 17 turnovers we had in the first half. The Beaufort man Jack O Connor stood up hugely for his side and showed us the best side to him on the night. He’s a man that can do the dirty work by winning turnovers then run forty yards and kick a wonder score. His pass for Hassetts goal was reminiscent of gooch against the dubs in 2013.
Although our forwards were brilliant our midfield and backs were just as good. Linehan and Collins ran midfield all night and their aerial ability and kicking is a massive plus for this minor side. Our backs on the night were as tenacious as they come and impressed me hugely. I know the forwards had to score but in my opinion the backs nearly played a bigger role in winning that game last Tuesday. Curran Chester and Kieran o Sullivan all impressed but in my opinion the best player on the field was our right half back Eoghan o Sullivan of legion he looked like he could’ve of played another 2 or 3 games after the game last week his engine is unbelievable and is a real threat going forward.
Every player played his part from 1 to 15 and the 4 or 5 subs that came on and Devon Burns was not left wanting when he was called into action he might be a bit disappointed with the goal he conceded but the save he pulled off albeit the game being over as a contest was simply unbelievable. In real time I didn’t think he got anything on it but watching it back tonight he just got his left finger tips to the ball to divert it over the bar. This showed great concentration as he wasn’t asked to do much all night but when he was needed he stepped up.
Dylan Callaghan and Ryan o Grady came on and done very well in the forwards as did hanifin and Cornin in the backs so competition for places is fierce which is great to see. Brilliant performance last Tuesday and hopefully we can kick on from that win with another in Tralee next Thursday night. Hopefully a big crowd will come out to support this young exciting side and hopefully we will be in another Munster final.
From watching tonight’s show on tg4 Monaghan looked to be very good and very physical I would expect them to come through ulster relatively easily they beat Tyrone on a score line of 3:8 to 13 points

Kerry v Clare on 23 May in Tralee at 7pm.
If Kerry draw or win, the Munster Final is Cork v Kerry.
If Clare win, all three teams will have 2 points and it comes down to score difference. Clare make the final with a win. Kerry would need to lose by 29 points or more to make it a Clare v Cork final, a Kerry loss of less than 27 points means a Clare v Kerry final.

The future looks bright. Some lovely scores from distance and lovely foot passing. Dylan Geaney and Young Hassett looked very good. Highlights tend to showcase the forwards but I would have liked to have seen more of the backs. They obviously did well.
