Cant see Ardfert going down with Wallace at the helm. He's a top class manager, all things considered

I see Dr. Crokes B conceded their opening game to Beaufort. Any valid explanation for this? Why not seek a postponement instead?

The number one reason why B team shouldn't be left into the senior league. This could have a bearing in the end as those two points Beaufort got could be the difference between another team going up and down

Keep all B and C teams in Div 3 or lower might be a better solution. If the B team get a top 3 finish, the fourth team gets promoted instead...which would open another can of worms, in that should games against said B team count toward promotion/relegation?

There's a B county league along with championships etc

So why didn't they put out a team then? Anyone know? Nothing on their website about it.

Ive been told that they got agreement to postpone the game with Beaufort but the county board blocked it, while approving the Div 1 game to be moved. In fairness, there are quite a few guys who would be playing with the Crokes B team who have realistic chances of playing some part in the Club Final.

Surely if crokes have a team in division 2, they should be able to field a team separate to the a team, maybe a bit too much croosover with players playing with both teams which on a given weekend, which I have witnessed in the past, maybe they shouldn't have put in a c team, if another team failed to field a team I believe they would be severely punished

First with fines and after that just trow teams out. At the very least the team who get the walkover shouldn't be given ay points for it

A possible explanation may be in that as the A team did not field due to a postponement, the club did not provide the list of players ineligible for the B team. Dr. Crokes failed to do this as their opening game was rightly granted a postponement in view of the upcoming All-Ireland Club final.
The rules can be found in the Eolaire, but this website has failed to post the said document since the 2017 version.
FYI, the 2017 Eolaire has the following on Eligibilty in the County League:
1. “First 15” as passed by relevant Divisional Committee and approved by County C.C.C.
2. Monitoring of “First 15” lists will be ongoing in light of transfers, injuries, emigration, and Summer Visas.
Another interesting point is the first tie-breaker if teams finish level in a relegation battle...the team with more fixtures fulfilled will get the nod before any play-off game is deemed necessary.
Anyone with a further update?

Anyone with a further update? Was it? The likes of Ballyduff etc all had to play last weekend without anyone who were playing with the hurlers. Also is there not a cut off date for when teams have to send it said list? Would that not have passed at this stage?

I don't know for sure, but it would have been very bad form if Dr. Crokes were not granted a postponement one week before an All-Ireland club final. Said list is run off starting 15's, hard to do if A team hasn't played a single game. B team should also requested/got a postponement. Where is poster nacrocaigh to give the club story on this? Did Ballyduff request a postponement?

Crokes B aren't in the All Ireland final. Technically, the subs bench at the start of the All-Ireland Club Final on Sunday v Corofin can line out for the B team on Sunday week in the County League Div 2 game v John Mitchels. Not true...see below. Correction: Technically, any Dr. Crokes player on Sunday in the All-Ireland Club Final on Sunday v Corofin can line out for the B team on Sunday week in the County League Div 2 game v John Mitchels, as no player has yet played in Division 1. Messy affair all round...might be a problem later on if Dr. Crokes B are in a relegation battle. Needs to be cleared up sooner rather than later.

Just to add more to it, Dr. Crokes Div 1 game on 24 March is at home v Kerins O'Rahilly's at 3pm, while Dr. Crokes Div 2 game v John Mitchels is set for the same venue at the same time, per the fixtures on this website.
Hard to believe...

What I gather happened is the Crokes were having a final game A vs B last Sunday, one week before their All Ireland Final. The A team game against Rathmore was postponed by agreement between the clubs. There was a similar arrangement made with Beaufort and the game to be played mid May but the CCC refused permission for the game to be deferred and awarded the points to Beaufort, who I gather are refusing them.

I was thinking it might have been the A team playing the B team in training alright. However, wouldn't playing a real game v local rivals Rathmore have been better preparation for Corofin!

I watched Glenflesk defeat Desmonds rather easily. Glenflesk pretty average but opened up the Castleisland side at will and could have won by more. Could be a tough season for Desmonds - they were without the injured Thomas Hickey and have very little upfront without him. They could struggle to retain their Division 2 status going by this performance anyway.

Ardfert losing to Annascaul at home is surprising especially as they see their home field as a fortress.. Were they missing a few or are they struggling at the moment does anybody know?

Egan and Wallace will be two big losses to the side.
