Has the emergence of Mounthawk weakened the Green in recent years - both have similar numbers of males but it means the traditional Green player pool is halved. Emergence? Have mounthawk won anything or gone further than the green in any competition in recent years?? Especially the corn ui Mhuirí. I’m sure The green would still fancy themselves as the dominant football force in Tralee. Albeit them being the best in recent years the football pull the school once had has definitely weakened... I'm pretty sure they've beat the Green a few times at different grages the last few years

Mounthawk coincidentally beat the green yesterday in a first year competition. Have beaten then on numerous occasions in recents times, all be it the Green are still seen to be the “football” school but that has eroded in recent years. Mounthawk were competing at C level Muster 6-7 years ago. Corn ui Mhuiri now. Mouthawk will shake this years Frewen Cup (u16.5 munster) they’ve 4 kerry minors underage for that.

I’m sure The green would still fancy themselves as the dominant football force in Tralee. Albeit them being the best in recent years the football pull the school once had has definitely weakened... Your concept of emergence is somewhat narrow if you only think of it in terms of winning trophies. 20 years ago 90%+ of the males in the greater Tralee area went to the Green. Now they are split more or less evenly accross two schools. Emergence has seen Mounthawk progress from B (or lower) grades to A grade competitions in the past five years suggesting the calibre of player has improved and this can only be at the Green's expense. Yes the Green would see themselves as the superior force and have progressed further in most competitions. P.S. Mounthawk players have collected 4/5? AI medals with the successful Kerry minor teams of recent years. Imagine if the Green had these players in the ranks. Yes I agree with a lot of what you have said and quite a lot of what you said is hard to argue with. I have admitted that the greens football pull has certainly weakened in the last number of years all I said was that the green would still fancy themselves as “top dog” in Tralee and rightly so having contested the last 2 Corn Uí Mhuirí finals and also winning the Dunloe cup a few years ago... I know not everything is about trophies so to back up my point there were 4 players from Tralee on the Kerry minor panel this year and all 4 are attending the green... Of course the green would love to have had those 4 or 5 players along with the other 2 or 3 from gaelcolaiste but that is not the case... I believe that if Tralee had one main school like the sem in Killarney for example they would be competing for if not winning Corn Uí Mhuirí dunloe and Frewen cups year in year out..

Good result to have two Kerry schools in the final. Even though its in the E grade the likes of the Green etc have to start somewhere and this is as good a place as any

Corn uí Mhuiri full time Mercy Mounthawk 1-08 The Sem 4-04 Sem are through as group winners. Clonakilty will be through as runners-ups unless ISK beat them. If ISK beat Clonakilty they will also have to win by 46 points to go through, otherwise it would be Mounthawk who will go through as the team with the best score difference on 2 points. Winners Rochestown Flannans St Brendans Runner-Ups Tralee CBS Ballincollig Clonakilty/Mounthawk/ISK PSCD and Bandon are due to play next week - whoever wins will top that group with the loser in that game taking the runner-ups spot.

Results from today's semi-finals:
Chorcha Dhuibhne 0-13 Rochestown 2-6
St Brendan's 2-11 Clonakilty 0-8
These results are taken from another forum but I believe that they are correct. Great to see two Kerry sides in the Final again.

Who are the favourites for this? Where will it be won and lost? Who are the future stars we should be looking out for?

Who are the favourites for this? Where will it be won and lost? Who are the future stars we should be looking out for? There's a good few of the minor winners from last year involved (and Devidas Uosis from the year before for Dingle) Paul O'Shea is a key man for the Sem - other players from the Sem who won minor medals are Daragh Lyne, Patrick D'arcy, Mike Lenihan, Mark Kelliher, while Dylan Geaney, Deividas Uosis, Ruaidhrí Ó Beaglaoích, Conor Flannery, Killian Falvey, Sean Og Moran from PCSD all won minor medals, so there will be a lot of quality players on both sides. PSCD probably the favourites - they beat the Sem in the O'Sullivan Cup before Christmas.

Fair result. Dingle led 5 to 2 after a poor first half. Dingle had the wind but the sem missed a lot of chances. The game opened up into a good contest in the second half. O Shea from Fossa played well full forward with 1-2 from play. Dingle's full forward line stepped up in the second half with 5 from play. Good contest in the second half between Cathal begley and Paul o Shea. I thought the standard was well short of the all Ireland winning standards of recent years.
