Am I correct in saying that the name of the manager that will be voted on next Monday night will be released before the weekend. Delegates will not be expected to turn up to a meeting and vote without having had a chance to discuss it with their club officials. So we must be very near the white smoke. They may have to tell that person first cos may be none of the candidates mentioned know their fate

It appears that the preferred candidate is not sure themselves they want it so the others are being kept in reserve just in case.

I'm hearing it's a "done deal" with Peter Keane as Manager and a selection / coaching team of Maurice Fitz, Donie Buckley and Tommy Griffin. I guess I'll find out soon how reliable my source is ....

Keane who will pick his own management team as per the process agreed back at August’s County Board Meeting I wonder why so many people felt that the county board selection committee were picking the entire management team? Go back a few pages on this thread and there was a lot of confusion on this matter.

Interesting to see who the 4th person will be? I would guess Diarmuid Murphy? The report suggests that it could be an S&C guy as Joe O'Connor has stepped. Chris Flannery was the S&C coach with him for the minors. Don't think he was a selector though.

But the head of S&C and the head of nutrition were installed to work across all age groups last year. I dont see how that comment in bold would confuse matters.
I was confused a few weeks ago when people here and papers started reporting that they would handpick every member of the new management team as that wasnt the way it was stated when Murphy spoke with the clubs.

The committee would definitely have had an influence on the selection of the entire mgt team. They are not going to just pick a manager and let him off to his own devices despite what is being reported.

If Peter is to be the man it of course leaves a vacancy at minor level. You would not envy the man coming in there trying to emulate the achievements of Jack and Peter.

I'd imagine the backroom team will need to be approved by the County Board but that's normal. Liam Sheedy's backroom team has to be approved in Tipp. The suggestion seemed to be that the County Board were going to impose backroom team members on the manager. Thankfully this doesn't appear to be the case.

While the happiest of days are climbing Hogan, today is right up there with the best of them as we have been given the dream backroom team - a proven serial AI winning manager and two all-time greats in their respective (and what are key) roles.
Fair play to each of them for making themselves available for what are challenging roles. And well done to TCB for a spectacular achievement that nobody can really argue with.
I don't think we could have better leadership, as individuals and as a team combination. Together with what is coming through, it will shorten a few Winters. One can only imagine the manoeuvring and posturing for places and I suppose fellas will be pondering what the future holds. Currans will get some baptism of fire, amazing, would love to get a sneak peek of the rookies challenging veterans and while it is a natural process anyway, methinks it will be a white hot furnace in this instance, and anyone who pulls that jersey down over their head from now on will have earned it at least as hard as anyone ever did, and maybe 10 times harder in cases!

Don't think he was a selector though. I hadn't heard that O'Connor was gone. I think he was an asset to Kerry to be honest. My understanding is that it was not really a hands-on role but overseeing the whole thing across all the teams but I am open to correction. His replacement will hopefully be of the same calibre.

Our minor teams in the last 3 years have been well primed. Sometimes the tendency is to go for the "celebrity" or well known S and C man.I hope PK gets to bring what is his wish in this department cos again there needs to be a trust and relationship there. If that is his minor team 2016-2018 man then that is the way to go!!
