Crokes were better team for most of the game but O'Rahilly's never gave up. They hung in there. Brian Looney and David Shaw got first half goals and Crokes were winning by 10 points at one stage. Barry John Kaeane Jack Savage and Tommy Walsh were good and they kept O'Rahilly's in it. With about 15 mins left Crokes were winning by about 7 points and looked like they would hang on but Tommy Walsh scored a goal and it changed the whole game. They never looked back and dominated the last 10 or 11 minutes. Ross O'Callaghan was also good for O'Rahilly's. Crokes played poorly. They just didn't look up for it. They looked a tired team. I think they have strolled through the County League the last two years and have lost their edge. Doesn't look good for them now will need to play a lot better from now on. Good win for O'Rahilly's but they played poorly in patches too can't leave a team like East Kerry go 10 points clear and come back like they did today. East Kerry look the team now but you never know. 3-12 to 0 -06 was the score in the second half - difficult to see how Crokes were the better team!

What's the story with Daniel O'Brien of East Kerry? He hasn't been listed on their panel for the last 2 games.

Feale Rangers somewhat unlucky to go down by a point to Kierans today. Only went behind for the first time in the last minute, despite being down to 14 men for 3/4 of the game. Some off the ball shenanigans, which I didn't see, led to Cormac Mulvihill and his marker both getting the customary yellow, only for Mulvihill then to be shown a red as well. I'm pretty sure nobody had been booked up to then so I don't know what that was about. . I did not see the incident that led to the two yellows but Mulvihille was booked for an earlier challenge on Aiden Breen

Dunno know about turning the corner but definitely worth another look. Full Forward probably his only spot you could play him.
I have also been impressed with Ross O'Callaghan Paudie Clifford and Evan Cronin have impressed me. All 4 could get a call for Kerry training.

South Kerry will be kicking themselves this morning. Totally dominated the second half, Stacks didnt score a single point in the half but South Kerry conceded 3 goals whilst butchering a few goal chances of their own.

People are mad for this 'Tommy can't walk since Australia' narrative. He would/should have been on the field for the last fifteen or twenty minutes of an All Ireland final a couple of years ago only for the Galvin debacle. He has been playing really well for a long time at this stage. Ross was in training with Kerry for a good while this year and going fairly well so far as I know.

Yesterday evening I think. Have we seen many players make the case for defence? I have seen a good few games over the past two week ends, and it is big scores all round.

East Kerry look the team now but you never know. 3-12 to 0 -06 was the score in the second half - difficult to see how Crokes were the better team! This game was fairly level for 40 minutes with Crokes edging the first twenty minutes of the first half with the wind and Rahillys edging the first twenty minutes of the second half again with the aid of the stiff wind. The real story of the game was the final ten minutes (or so) of both halves. Crokes hit a purple patch (with two quick fire goals) in the final ten of the first half and the half time whistle rescued Rahillys who had a chance to compose themselves. Even so being 10 points down on Crokes at half time was a daunting task. Rahillys hit a purple patch in the final ten minutes of the second half (again with two quick fire goals), unfortunately for Crokes there was a lot more injury/sub time in the second half and Rahillys kept going (and got a third goal), playing well against a shell shocked Crokes. An entertaining game that leaves both sides with things to work on and improve if they want to go all the way in this competition. East Kerry certainly look the form side and the one to avoid.

I have heard good things about Sean T Dillon of Feale Rangers. Apparently he did very well for Feale Rangers in their 2 games. Unfortunately he won't have any more chances to prove himself. He was corner back for the Kerry Minors in 2013. Anyone else know any more about him and would he potentially be of county level?

22 goals conceeded in the 4 county championship matches the weekend. The quality of defending in the county is in a dreadful state, no blocking, no smothering attackers, aimless kickouts some out over the sideline. Our present county defenders are more interested in attacking than defending. The new manager will have a massive task

Think it’s clear enough really from what we’ve seen so far that the best players are already on the county panel. There isn’t any hidden gems out there I’m afraid. In saying that, East Kerry have obviously been impressive and perhaps a couple from there will be involved with Kerry in 2019.

I saw that today, tis shocking stuff, but it can't be said that the quality of the defending in the county championship is acceptable, or, isn't that bad, just because we haven't yet reached the depths of where football is at in Derry. If we're comparing ourselves to that we're definitely going nowhere.

Jesus effing christ ive heard it all now..... lads giving about high scoring games and the narratice before was nothing but bemoaning how football is becoming like rugby the last 15 years. Look at the scores our minor teams racked up on their way to 5 in a row. Would the counter argument not be that there is an exceptional breed of forward in the county at the moment? I know we are all down in the dumps with the current cloud of Dublin domination but give the negativity a bloodh rest for 1 weekend!

TG4 showed highlights of two games last night...the Dingle-EK and Crokes -KOR. Like a different sport compared to what is played at elite inter county. Plenty of long ball into FF line too. By Dingle especially. The finish by David Shaw was great and very like the goal v Cork at u20. David Clifford always seem to take the right option. And that last point by TW was a great effort after fetching the kickout. I think its hard to expect club teams and club players to get to the level of defensive formations and systems required at inter county level. Club games in Dublin are light years away from what the inter county team does.
