What changes would people go for? killian is suspended I assume , what is the story with Morley? Jod is not playing well at the moment, should he be dropped?

Is Shane Enright injured? Not in the 26 today.
Morley was a strange one alright.

We could make 14 changes from today and prob have no complaints.
The little faith that I had in the management after last season and the semi final debacle is completely gone at this stage.
Expect tactical genius like starting Mark Griffin and Anthony Maher or maybe asking Galvin back from retirement

I suppose you would have to go with David Moran and Jack Barry again.
Paul Murphy has to start along with David Clifford and Paul Geaney.
Is Shane Murphy the problem with the kicks out, or the out field not giving him options? He will probably start again.
I would stick with Gavin White at 7. Bring Tadgh Morley in at CB.
If Shane Enright is fit and ready to go I would have him in.
Peter Crowley/Mark Griffin at FB and keep Jason Foley too.
Top of the left and James O probably a change but with who? BJK?
The half forwards I just don't know. Probably start Michael Burns at 10 Keep Sean O Shea 11 and even though I like the guy Stephen O Brien to lose out to Kevin Mc Carthy.
It will be a tough day in Clones but certainly a day we shouldn't fear. Confidence is low but nothing that an early goal wouldn't sort out.

Kevin McCarthy looked miles off the standard today- Stephen o Brien is so easy to nullify for even half decent teams as he isn’t a particularly good footballer so just put him into his left and he can’t do anything. BJK? I like him but is not the answer and never has been. Give killian Spillane a go at this stage.

Either I know nothing about football or we were watching different matches. Anyway two things for me: 1. Our warmup was very poor today. Not sure why but it looked well off 2. The team deserves all our support next week, it’s time to back them up now. They need it.

He had no influence on the game

Fair enough. For me, he was by far the best of our half forward line. He kicked a point, carried the ball well. These are our different opinions. Anyway it doesn’t change anything now. What can change things is the county getting about them now. Too much navel gazing this week won’t help.

I agree with you to a certain extent but people are becoming disillusioned with the management as it’s been fairly obvious for the last couple of seasons that they are not up to it. The problem is that this manifests itself in apathy towards the team and the players will thus suffer. We have the players but the management are nowhere near the standard

BJK is wirey and can take it as well as dish it out. This type of player will be required against the likes of the Wyleys.
James O wouldn't be too bad off the bench maybe?

Navel gazing is one thing but surely we need to freshen things up?

It’s not Barry Johns ability to handle himself that I’m worried about! Jameso was really poor today- I think he’s defo a better option coming off the bench when backs are tiring

I can understand the frustration. I joined this forum around 8 years ago. I always have applied the mantra that I would never personally critics anyone. I won’t do that now. Stayed in my seat until the long whistle this evening. I’ll be in clones next Sunday even though I really do not have the time. Nows the time for support, not when they’re coming down the opentop bus in September.

If we can get the balance of youth and experience right then we are still in there with a shout of a semi final place.
Donaghy in with 20 to go and Geaney to 11 for Seanie Shea would have been a good move today.

As will I but it’s more out of a sense of duty at this stage because I really don’t believe in this management and their ability to take this team anywhere. If I had to drive 5/6 hours from kerry to get to the game then I genuinely don’t know what I would do. The easy answer is to say that I would go but I can understand peoples apprehension if I’m being honest

But the team needs a freshen up. Surely?

On a positive note....Kerry are bound to be better against Monaghan. The only way is up.
I hope the panel has a younger look about it although i would hope KD is on it.
It was a bad sign in the munster final when all the subs brought on were older players.
By the time this match starts Galway may have 4 points and Kildare zero points.
A draw wont do against Monaghan...
The only team to beat Galway since last August are Dublin. They may not have enough marquee forwards or the black arts to beat dublin but they are better than they are being given credit for.
In 2017 replay v Mayo the wheels came off when Crowley got his second yellow. 15 v 14 is a disaster in the modern game.
Youngs red card was a disaster today.
The intimidation is going to be intense the next day...surely a Kerry player isnt going to retaliate and get sent off.
I wont hold by breath.

Kildare will give Galway enough of it.

Remember Mayo replay last year ? Same Managment same result ? More than likely . Management clueless last year - any change this year ? Reference - today’s match . So in Clones we should be wary and be worried be very worried. Players can’t give their best as they have the burden of a Management that it appears they have no trust in which is s recipie for yet another disappointment .

Very disappointing result v Galway but not surprised. Three points 1/ Why do our backs/midfielders need to take that extra solo before releasing the ball? 2/ Why are segments of our full forward line winning possession in ourown half? 3/ We needed KD today, why was he not given a chance?

capacity in clones folks? Think it’s around 36,000 - plenty of room given that four counties provided less than 31,000 in Croker today!

Same 15, throw down the gauntlet to them - I would expect a far different performance next week.

Couple of points. Division 1 form is very relevant. Galway beat everyone bar Dublin this year. They are a team to be taken seriously. 3/1 Was way too big. I had a slice. Also went with Dublin at -6 and Tyrone at -3 in a treble. Can't believe Dublin let me down having been 8 up at one stage. Anyway covered the stake with the Galway bet so all's well that...
Kerry had an awful lot of young lads having their first serious championship test. Not easy. This cannot be stressed enough. Major major issue. See Donegal 2017 for details. Looked great in league flopped in champ. The above two points conflict to a degree but you get the picture.
And some minor observations.
Cork have proven to be dreadful. In hindsight Kerry would have been better off ignoring how that game went. Munster is as bad as Leinster now. I badly overestimated Cork. So did Kerry.
Clifford is quality. JOD has regressed. Talk of Kerry's front 6 being the best in the country is just that at the moment, talk. Has potential to be fair. Disappointed in Geaney today. I rate him the best of any Kerry player and is the only one who would defo start for Dublin. After today Clifford too.
Galway have been strong at u21 compared to Kerry recently. U21 is a better indicator than minor. Much better.
A lot here clamouring for Donaghy to be pitched in. Has he been effective since 2014? He's 36 now? I think EF is right to stick with younger lads, although BJK or Walsh hardly qualify.
The good news is that Kerry have another shot. Win next week and they are in semi. Well capable I think. League game was a dogfight in sh1t conditions and Kerry came up just short. Firm sod will suit Kerry. Monaghan are a solid side but Fermanagh beat them. If Kerry are serious contenders they should beat them too. Kerry by 3.

I understand your approach here but Jesus Christ no- the sink or swim approach won’t work here and could kill many a young lads intercounty career before it gets going. Added to that is the fact that a number of players on yesterday either aren’t up to it or have regressed to no longer be up to it. I want us to win so would definitely not go with the same team

Killian will be suspended and it soulnds like Morley is injured. Foley came off with a knock also so hopefully he recovers. If not We are looking at mark griffin being full back again.
