I heard from a source in Cork that Sean Powter will be at least on the bench or may start - not sure how accurate this might be ??

Sean Powter is not included in the 26 man panel published on Official Cork GAA site on 19th. It would be very cynical of any Co. Board or management to submit one list of players to Croke Park and a different list to the Press. I understand that a lot of managers regard that carry-on as the ultimate in sophistication but I am prepared to believe that our neighbours would not engage in that level of nonsense! What would be the point? I would have absolutely no impact on what Kerry do themselves.

You hear this same nonsense about any lad who is injured- it's usually just some loudmouth with no clue taking a punt on it. If the player makes it back then he sounds like he had inside knowledge and if not then he can say- jeez he was very close, etc

Would you prefer to have the Hurleys and Kerrigan or Darren, Kevin Mc and Donaghy on your bench? I'd take a couple from each probably, how about you? I'd have the older Hurley before he got injured. I forgot BJK. I think Kerry have really good and really different forward options from the bench. I think Cork will find it hard to hold the Kerry starting forward line and could also struggle to hold the finishing forward line. Cork have managed to do it before against us but I feel they will have to score 3 goals to win. Of course if they get a foothold in the middle of the field and our defence is as porous as it looked at stages during the league and in the last two games of 2017 they could do that.

On the travel side, I don't know what they do with the roadworks on the Cork-Mallow N20 Road (just north of the Blarney turnoff) at weekends but during the week they are a nightmare and added at least 30 minutes to my journey the other day. So be warned...

Ronan McCarthy has a few soundbites in the media this week about having Cork playing a certain way (as they did against Tipp) and that it would be difficult to play a defensive game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Looking at the team named, it would appear to me that their entire half forward line will drop deep. White played in the backs against Tipp I think and Deane and O'Driscoll dropped deep in that game. They will probably leave Connolly closest to goal with Collins and O'Rourke operating outside him.
If this is the case then I feel Foley will mark Connolly and Crowley and Shanahan will pick up the other two. It might be better to have Morley stick with Deane. White could pick up O'Driscoll and Paul Murphy could play sweeper.
I have a feeling Kerry wont be as aggressive on the Cork kickout as they were against Clare.

I think that press that kerry did against clare is a great weapon to use against any team at the right time. We saw it against Dublin in 15 before half time when we put cluxton under massove pressure for ten mins.we will see it against cork im sure but it wont be for as an extended period as the clare game.

Was it the current Cork manager that got involved with Maurice in the 1999 Munster final..
Was it 1999..the year Aodhan was taken off in case he scored a hat trick!

Q Parks are offering discounts for games in their car parks - Carroll’s Quay is €9 for 24 hours, Grand Parade € 7 ( 9 am - 9 pm) , discounts also on Merchants Quay & City Hall - safe option, 15/20 min walk to PUC, shuttle bus or public transport ( 202) to get you there. On street parking almost a no no now in the city.

I would favour coming at the Pairc from the Douglas side - this would avoid getting caught up in the concert crowd who will be heading to the nearby marquee (city side of the Pairc).

What pubs in Cork would be a good shout for before/after for a good match crowd with a decent amount of Kerry people there, is there a sort of 'Kerry pub' on match days in Cork?

I booked it on Tuesday on Q-Park using the promotional codePUIC - if you google : qparkcorkgaa, you should get them; alternatively give them a call on 061 - 311422. Carroll’s Quay is the most convenient if traveling via Mallow.

If you want to park as close as you can to PUC have a look at Kerry GAA social media, theres a rugby club and gaa club opening their fields/carparks for the occasion as far as I recall. Both within 10 min walk to the stadium.

Does anyone know what time Cork con and Blackrock hurling club start letting people park? I seen something from Blackrock saying they open at noon and there is food, music and entertainment there. But its a 'Rockies Fanzone' so maybe better to park and run.
