She was indeed a Kerry woman who married a Limerick man instead of Kavanagh. Not the first Kerry person to break a Monaghan heart. Their son of course being born in Dublin and becoming a famous actor. The plot thickens.......She was Hilda Moriarity from Dingle. Joe OToole of Dingle..the INTO guy and a senator would be a nephew. His mother was Moriarity. Hilda OMalley married Donagh Omalley the FF Minister that brought in free secondary education. I dont know about the actor son ...what was his name I read Joe OTooles book recently...found it in a second hand bookshop... a brilliant insight into life in Dingle in the 50s and 60s. Highly recommended www.rte.ie/archives/exhibitions/1323-patrick-kavanagh/1331-on-raglan-road/336059-hilda-moriarty-on-the-origin-of-on-raglan-road/She was of course 20 years younger than Kavanagh. He was the same age I am now when he lusted after a 22 year old girl. Donagh O'Malley, the FF Minister, gave us free education and Daragh O'Malley gave us a different type of entertainment www.imdb.com/name/nm0641713/Hopefully the cultural aspect leads to nice attractive football. Seeing McManus in action is already worth the long trip.

A few media outlets are suggestion a hamstring pull. If thats the case then all I can say is "for f*cksake". It was as clear as day that playing him in 3 high level games in 6 days was a stupid idea- I've been putting forward the point on here for ages that we need to guard his development and we have made a mess of this.

Looking at Clifford's injury it would seem it happened when he was though on goal right from the start. He never had the ball fully under control and resulted in a clumsy fall into Clarke in goals. He seemed to be hobbling a bit after that. Seemed like an innocuous enough injury.

Clifford was carrying knock into game apparently Very disappointing if true. I know we are missing alot but surely a young guy like Clifford should be minded. I'd imagine the ITT are cracking up with their game being played tomorrow night.

Thought I read somewhere that one of the main reasons Joe Schmidt will not pick overseas players is that he cannot control their playing minutes sufficiently.
For me the calendar is still the main reason for overplaying young talent. The main colleges competition clashes with the county league guaranteeing conflicting demands between county and college.
Playing any player not 100% fit is beyond crazy and is part of the win at all costs mentality that is so prevalent in the game.

How exactly is Osin McConville's comment to be interpreted?

How exactly is Osin McConville's comment to be interpreted? If accurate (big if) it means David Cliffird was injured before the Queens match. If so two managers, not one may have to explain why they played him.

How exactly is Osin McConville's comment to be interpreted? He was referring to a fresher game last year and he was talking about Dundalk IT as far as I know

Is there a link to the McConville comment? ""On Monday, Oisin McConville revealed on the Second Captains podcast that when he coached Queens freshers against Tralee IT in the semi-final, Clifford limped in while his coach told McConville before the game he was suffering with a hamstring injury.""

I heard the podcast and the comment. McConville was talking about last year...the podcast took place 29 January BEFORE the St Mary's match 30 January. Those Balls.ie lads must have been on the piss all weekend. David ran a good fifty yards after getting the clatter and then went off. He not only ran, he sprinted. I was speaking to his Dad before the throw in and talking about how he was really shaping up well. Its a nice little ground. Is it possible to get TG4 online in Italy ( excuse my ignorance if that is a stupid question)

I can't watch TG4 online when in the UK, but there is usually a live stream to be found. It's how I get to watch some of the Eir matches.

The short-term unavailable players (2-3 weeks) according to the press conference in mid January were
Short term (2-3 weeks) Tadhg Morley, Fionn, Tom O'Sullivan, Mark Griffin, Adrian Spillane, Kevin McCarthy, Darran, Mikey Geaney, Eanna O'Conchuir & Brian O' Beaglaoich
This weekend he could give time off to Gavin Crowley, Brian Begley, Jason Foley and Ronan Shanahan from the backs and replace them with Morley, Fionn, Coffey and Mark Griffin.
Give Seanie Shea and Clifford a break in the forwards and maybe bring in Kevin McCarthy and Darran.

Just out of complete curiosity and given the recent outrage of burnout etc.
What team would ye put out against Monaghan if we couldn't pick the Sigerson boys. I'm struggling big time.
1. Brian. Kelly 2. Cormac Coffey 3. Shane Enright 4. John Payne 5. Paul Murphy 6. Andrew Barry 7. Matthew Flaherty 8. Greg Horan 9. Brendan O'Sullivan 10. Daithi Casey 11. Michael Burns 12. Stephen O'Brien 13. Barry John Keane 14. Paul Geaney 15. Jack Savage
Subs we would be very bare

A team and subs with no sigerson players is not realistic. All you can do is pick the team based on the how heavy their workload has been these past few weeks.

Having all these lads playing Sigerson is great.
I will always remember Paul Geaneys leadership for ucc in the final of 2014. Their opponents got a run on them towards the end and UCC couldnt break it. Geaney goes to midfield and signals to Bryan Kelly that the next kickout is to go in his direction. The leap and the fetch by Paul swung the momentum back and UCC went on to win it.
