I am going to miss the Mayo match because I will be at the Gaeity Theatre to see a production of Sive. Will Eir sport show a recording in a few days time? If so, do they issue a guide as to what they intend to repeat? Do they have a designated night for such repeats? A shame about missing this match but the booking for Sive was out of my hands. I look forward to seeing it in may case as it is a production by Druid Theatre.. Mayo put out a very strong team against Monaghan. I was surprised they had so many regulars on show. It will be a notable victory for the young lads if they pull this off. I would be satisfied with two points from the the two upcoming matches. Eir sport 1 are showing it live at 6.50pm on Saturday and are showing a repeat of same on same channel at 12 md on Monday and on eir sport 2HD at 2.30pm on Tuesday. Thanks a million for that fg.

Looking forward to seeing the team sheet big time, there are so many kids in the reckoning I'm like a lad waiting and pacing up and down outside a labour ward pondering the future. A.N. Other is that a guess If not and you are privy to exact information regarding the team I would respectfully recommend that you keep a lid on it as who ever foolishly whispered in your ear is doing his team no great service and neither are you, especially if the selection confirms that you have concrete nformation and you post again when the smell of mown grass is in the air. I think it will be difficult to get out of McHale Park with two points but not impossible as Mayo seem to struggle in the defence of their home venue for the past few years, Mayo are a strange team sometimes as they get the result when you least expect them to do so and let the expected results somehow slip through their fingers. Hopefully they well drop the ball tomorrow night and we get a result.

Would like to see daithi Casey start. The majority of the team played sigerson also during the week.

Surely we'll have a plan for one Andy Moran. He took us to the cleaners last year including the League fixture. He needs to be curtailed.
Exciting team again and having Jack Barry at our disposal is a big plus.

Surprised at that team, might see a few changes before throw in.
If that is the real team, i think it's taking an unnecessary risk to be having lads playing 3 intense games in a week at this time of year.

Nice team. Hopefully at least 2 of the half backs hold positions this week rather than being sucked out - its a simple change that would make the defence a lot tighter - lot more difficult for full forwards to get easy ball to run onto. Surely the line can see this.
Would like to see Andrew Barry get a good run, and Daithi. The latter has been seriously overlooked for the last few years - consistently the best half forward around.

Agreed. Mayo had the upper hand on us when it came to subs last year so we need to use the subs wisely. A tenacious terrier like Ó Beaglaoich will surely be put on Andy Moran with Enright on Neil Douglas or Cillian O'Connor, when he comes on. Delighted to see Jack Barry back. We need a ball winner there. I was impressed in the Donegal game with Barry O'Sullivan despite height advantage all around him. I feel we see Brian Ó Seanacháin or Brend O'Sullivan at some point during the game and both can do what Mayo did to us, run at the defence. Our half forwards need to be a lot cleverer, but I was well impressed with Michael Burns last week. Could be a very interesting game. Clifford has a height advantage over the Mayo fullback line so I wouldn't be surprised if he again stes up scores for Paul Geaney and Barry John. Paul Geaney was the man who kept us in the drawn game and who kept us from total embarrassment in the replay so with Jack Savage, Clifford, O'Donoghue and Keane next to him at various stages we have a very potent attack. I don't expect O'Shea to stay in CHF and to go roaming again. Paul Murphy might well be the man charged with following him around and he is himself very dangerous in attack as well as defence. Kick outs will probably be short for both teams with neither team having a massive advantage in midfield but you can be sure O'Shea will hang around that middle for breaking ball or around the square for high balls.

Andy Moran not being rested anyways - surely it be wiser keep him fresh for the summer?
Glad to see Barry O'Sullivan getting another run. Has raw potential that could develop. Hard to believe he was playing under 21 hurling last summer with Kerry and not with the footballers!
I like the Kerry team, plenty of youth and lads getting a chance to stake a claim. Would like to see Daithi Casey get a good gallop again

Jason Gibbons is around a long time. John O Mahoney pickd him during his tenure I think. Fell out of favour. A strange move bringing him in at this stage especially around the middle.

I'll be surprised if the team starts as selected, Casey & Savage could possibly start.

If they weren’t playing games they would be putting in two-hour training sessions that would be as hard and a lot less enjoyable. Players never have problem playing games but not everyone enjoys the training. The big difference is the travel. I doubt if there will be any changes to the published team - Fitzmaurice generally doesn’t publish dummy teams. I think we tend to forget that there is a limit to the number of variables that we could field that would give us a chance of winning games at this level. It is not a bottomless pit of talent and there are a huge number of players unavailable right now.

If I were at Tralee IT, I would be wondering what is the point of offering a scholarship to the likes of Clifford, if he is playing for Kerry 72 hours before tralees biggest game in years

It is not true to say that training 3 days before a game would be as hard as an inter county game against one of the best teams in the country

Weather for Castlebar is cloudy with some showers for today. Going by the locals the poor state of the pitch has not been helped by playing all of Mayo's FBD games there during very poor January weather and some are questioning if the pitch is playable tonight.
Hopefully we give a good account of ourselves and gain further experience. Most importantly hopefully we come out of there injury-free.

Young men at peak fitness - what's the problem? I really can't see why there should be any difficulty playing 70 mins every 3 days.
