Big call by Jack bringing in Eddie Horan at centre forward. He has impressed when introduced in the three matches, but still a big call.

I am convinced that the inclusion of Eddie Horan rather than Cormac Linnane will strengthen the team. I commented here after the Cork game that Cormac looked a bit pedestrian for the forty and was probably better suited closer to goal. That cruciate injury set him back significantly. He is a useful sub.
I am hoping that Kerry will set up as that they did in the second half of the Mlumster final. If not they are goosed. These lads deserve better than the barren first half approach.
I would dearly love to go to this match but a trip to Limerick and to Dublin on the same weekend is too much for creaking bones. Croke Park it has to be. Thank God for TG 4.

I think it was you Veteran who highlighted the set up and tactics in the first half which was the primary reason for the lackluster first half. Jack maybe should admit to this once in a while.

A point in arrears flatters us.
Kildare 4/5 points the better side.
Hopefully they'll kick on in the second half.

Finished the half strongly enough and missed a few chances to equalise.

Two sweepers and no tackling. Last seven or eight minutes we pushed up and the backs doing better man to man, doing better on kickouts and all of a sudden have a forward line.
This system we play for the first 20/25 mins of all these games is just crap.

Shocking stuff - Hyland on Reidy is like Enright on Andy Moran last year! Too many wides, poor forward play.

A right hammering. Jack has failed again. Time for a change after this for next year.

Well beaten, these lads should be very thankful to O Se and Clifford for their minor medals.

It must take some serious doing to get two teams as packed with talent as we've had at U20 for the last two years to look this bad. You called it right.

That would've been robbery. Bad collapse by Kildare.

Fantastic urgency in the finish by Kerry but too little, too late! Kildare well deserved to win it really on balance. A squandermania of talent or just not good enough? A strong case for either argument. Kildare look bigger, stronger and better foootballers today and more direct too. Kildare were a well coached team and plenty to keep them grounded for the final after letting a commnading lead slip to a very dangerous lead. Well done Kildare and good luck in the final.

One point defeat, could easily have snatched a draw even though Kildare played the better football overall.
Gave away a terrible goal and missed some very easy frees.

Did we end with the team that should have started? Very brave last 10, not enough and Kildare deserved it. Not a fan of JOC wasnt a fan at senior either for that matter.

Kildare collapsed in the end so will be relieved. Best of luck to to them in the final. From a Kerry perspective, jacks time is probably up but to state the obvious if Clifford and o se were available, no one would get near us.

Why can't backs stay on their men?
I was thought as a back to mark your man, follow him wherever he goes.
Don't mind about anyone else.
Frustrating.

You have to question the level of grounding the u20/21 set up have had the last two years. Complacent and caught by two underdogs two years in a row. Scoreline didn’t reflect the 60 mins, Kildare were the better team. Kerry were 1/5 today, 1/8 last year v Galway. Very Disappointing. Can’t help but think that we felt it was only a case of turning up again this year

Overall poor performance. Well beaten. Tactically destroyed on the sideline. Jack O'Connor has to go after this just like last year against Galway he has failed miserably with a good bunch of players.
Kildare have some good players but the big difference was every one of them knew exactly what they had to do and they were well coached. You could see after 10 minutes what was happening.
Kildare were picking up all the breaks around midfield and and we did nothing about it. Okunbar was struggling at full back. Bring him out around the middle of the field see if he could get his hands on some ball. Our backs were struggling especially our full back line but nothing was done about it.
We waited way too long to make changes. Really poor from Jack. A man of his experience. Kildare deserved it but we made it really easy for them.

A depressing start to the weekend!
In spite of the heroic fight back, Kildare looked the superior team and deserved their victory. And yet--- our goalie gave them a present of a point in the first half with a poor kick out , David Naughton gave them a present of a point at the start of the second half when he allowed the ball to bounce of his chest, Stefan gave them a present of a goal and those missed frees.
It was hard to judge from the TV but did we set up in the first half like we did in the first half against Cork? Suicidal if we did.
If Jack is so defence minded why did not put somebody in front of young Hyland? Donal O'Sulivan is our best forward. When so little ball was coming his way inside why was he not brought out to the forty?
Ii is hugely disappointing if our recent clutch of minors are not going to have success at the u20/21 level. While all the blame cannot be directed at management , I feel Jack is going to feel the heat over this defeat in conjunction with last year's failure. Not sure if he will want to stay on for another year. It is safe to say there will be no clamour to have him back in charge of the seniors. Eaten bread is soon forgotten.
In any case , one can only wish Kilare well. It would be great to see them win it out. It is extraordinary the sudden change in Kildare's football welfare.

Why do JOC teams always look like horses trained for dressage but finding themselves in the Grand National? Today's performance was typical of what he produces and he can hardly stay on for next year.

It was unbelievable. We had no game plan. Every player looked to be doing his own thing. No teamwork. What kind of training were they doing. We had good players on this team even without O'Shea and Clifford.
Im sure some of them will be good seniors one day. It has to fall with Management.
