The package that the county board reportedly put together to get clifford to stay. Not pay for play but, a few nice handy earners with media appearances etc. Have my doubts about the truth of the story. Considering it came from Chairman of the county board, it probably is true! Id have expected it to be more so coaching, scholarships , sponsorships etc and not just for him also, but others included. Time will tell but, if it's just for Clifford I can see others getting miffed

The miffed might be glad to have him around in the future going into the closing straight of an All-Ireland senior final in a few years time.

I believe the new jerseys are selling well. Any reports on fit, quality etc? I know many will be bought as presents but has anyone on here bought one for him/herself?

Nothing noticeably unique from the front but the back is spectacular - tone, tint 'n' shade differentiates us from convention, Different Kings of Kingdom... When the heat comes on, they sense battle and the need to fight. They rise above the call, facing down every foe in sight.
P.S. Galvin nails the story they tell, the jersey that is, not the auld seanchai!

I received one last weekend as a gift. Visibly darker and richer in colour compared to more recent versions. It's not baggy and the sleeves don't hang off you either. Very impressed with it.

Great that the jersey is not too baggy. Usually if you are in anyway average size, you would be better off getting a child's jersey.

Kilkenny have released their new jersey for 2018, the black and amber stripes are still there anyway with a large black design closer to the top the the shirt. Disappointedly, no video to introduce it 😀😀

Hopefully the blue jersey will be put into retirement. don't see why we have to use that blue thing everytime we play Mayo or Donegal. Should always play in Green and Gold. I would like to see a gold change jersey, not yellow, with green shorts. Never understand why we have to change anyway. Kerrys second jersey has more often than not been the blue of Munster...(FYI rugger fans, Munster is blue, not red.....)! Don't see that tradition beeing binned anytime soon. And why should Kerry have that right ahead of Mayo, Donegal or any other county???

Most Munster people cheer our oponents anyway which I find humourously ironic.

What about clashing with Meath,Offaly Donegal etc? The 1981 jersey seems to have been a one off. Kerry had worn blue when playing Offaly in past times. They didn't wear the same jersey the following year.

People want to see the Green & Gold in Croke Park or some version of it. Next involvement for Paul Galvin.

does anyone remember 2006, Kerry played in green and gold against mayo, think it was because Kerry had more gold than usual and add the fact that the green was lighter than what we have now. I don't think it worked with clashes with Donegal but our current jersey would suffice to that requirement anyway. All I'm saying is, change jersey could have gold sleeves lighter green, and a hoop, like 06' it should help differentiate the golds from the reds. We'll call it, "the 'recent classic' jersey". Now to solve the Meath, Leitrim clash.

The Irish rugby jersey was awful in tonights game... The IRFU should give Galvin a shout

Have never understood why teams in Ireland can't seem to sort out the home and away jerseys. In the US every team starting at the juvenile level through the pros, in every sport, have two Jerseys, home and away. One is the home jersey, usually in the base colors whatever those may be. The away jersey is usually white with highlights of the base colors or colors, sleeves etc. In the old days expense may have been a problem but no more, especially with senior inter-county teams. Perhaps they are not used because they are rarely needed in any case and not worth the expense.

The Rugby sat night was particularly brutal regarding the jerseys alright, all they had to do was wear white with green trim. I think I read somewhere that FIFA brought in a rule years ago that for the world cup one team would play in a dark strip and one team in a light strip. This was for black and white TV at the time. If you look back at AI finals in black and white it can be very hard to follow - Cork v Meath in 67 or Kerry v Offaly in that era I'm thinking of. Every County should have a nominated away strip that is considerably different from the usual one. I've always liked the Kerry blue but I know some on here hate it. The Paul Galvin jersey is class I must say.

The blue jersey is fine once in a blue moon but its use has become too regular. Kerry's second strip should consist of green and gold in some format.

Totally Agee with Kerrygold. Once in a blue moon fine and during the league.
For the championship it has to be green and gold.

Absolutely green & gold. The 1981 jersey was a lovely Kerry alternative.
