Now, as the title says, we're heading for Christmas which means one thing, New jerseys, based on O'Neills website, I've noticed 3 counties remodeling, Tyrone, Down and last but certainly not least: Kerry. They were selling those Jerseys at €28 for adults and €23 for children's, however they were taken off the range so looks like the new jersey will be out soon enough. Anyways it'll good to see Kerry in a new kit next year. What would like the next Kerry Jersey to look like?

The Co Board are pretty conservative. I wouldn't expect huge changes.
The round collar took getting used to.
One change I would like is green shorts. White shorts are a throwback to when everyone wore them. Makes more sense now to use one of the two main colours in the kit.
The 1981 rig-out was quality.

Legible numbers should take precedence over design which is only of cosmetic importance.

Legible jerseys. Oh may all the saints in Heaven intercede for me; is there any slight chance of contrasting light and dark colours in the numbers and their background? I know it sounds crazy; it has apparently never occurred to anyone over the last 14 (that's not a guess) jersey changes. This is a long standing bugbear with Kerry jerseys, and not just with me.

And who did they get to design the new jersey?? Rumours around they have a well known fashion designer in.

You could get used to the blue jersey with the clear numbering

I was never too bother about numbers. Getting to know the individual players movement is more rewarding than relying on cosmetic numbers on their back. A particular individual shimmy, side step, running or kicking style etc. No different than going into a field and knowing your sheep or cattle instinctively. It makes the reading in real time during a game more rewarding.

This can work with established players that we have come to recognise either by their stature or style - difficult with newer players and as mentioned the underage teams.

I was looking at the promo for the jersey reveal, anyway I spotted some design in the background. Chances are it probably isn't going to be Kerry's new jersey but it got me thinking, from that design, the hoop isn't a traditional Kerry hoop but it would help with the number issue. Tha t hoop wouldn't be able to handle a KERRY GROUP logo on it. In real terms our so called conservative county board would really be broadening their horizons with a design similar to that, or they're tricking us and placing it where we wouldn't take a blind eye to it 😉😉

The gold hoop all the way around the jersey is paramount to the integrity of a Kerry jersey being a Kerry jersey. I can live with the numbers concern.

Simple solution to the numbers conundrum. Go old skool and have the black number in a white circle on the back of the jersey.
I like a retro look. It's in big time in other sports. Could be perfect for Kerry.
Is Paul G designing the jersey btw ?

The white numbers will only really work if the green and gold are darker than they are currently. The early 90s jersey would be an example.

Kerry should adopt the South Kerry jersey.
Gold hoop at the front and the big number on the green jersey at the back. Class jersey.

Or it will have a buttoned collar and be knee-length I'm hoping it has the ultra-deep V-neck like the one he wore around New York in his documentary, so I can show off my man cleavage.

www.hoganstand.com/Kerry/ArticleForm.aspx?ID=277294Former Kerry footballer-turned-fashionista Paul Galvin has helped to design the county's new jersey. The new jersey will be launched in Killarney next Friday in time for the lucrative Christmas market and Kerry chairman Timmy Murphy revealed yesterday that Galvin has had an input into its design. In his match programme notes for the Kerry SFC final between Dr Crokes and South Kerry, Murphy wrote: "Considerable effort has gone into designing this new jersey in what has been a collaborative effort between Kerry county board, Paul Galvin and O'Neill's Sports."

Ray D'Arcy was just on the radio talking about how Paul Galvin designed the new Kerry jersey. Ray is a bit worried about how the jersey will go down as "a certain type of man wears GAA jerseys" according to the little Kildare man.

Well Ray is one of the biggest arseholes in the country so what would you expect. An arsehole on a salary of €400,000 a year I might add.
