Some going by Corofin, 5 in a row in such a traditional county is a fair achievement and they look like favourites to come out of Connacht again this year. Mayo champs and maybe Brigids might have a chance if they win next weekend.
Clonmel will put it up to Crokes, Crokes got a mighty scare in 2010 vs Aherlow up in Tipperary being very fortunate to win in extra time. Crokes have had a few close shaves in Munster in recent years with Kilmurry Ibrickane and Cratloe also. Would have been nice to see the Barrs win the last day, it was a great comeback but when they had Nemo on the ropes they failed to deliver the knockout punch at the end and held onto the ball.
It is almost inevitable that Slaughtneil will win Ulster again, they are a very good side. I can't see Omagh, Scotstown or Kilcar getting the better of them.
The winner of Dublin should be winning Leinster, it would be a big shock of it didn't happen like that but then again Rhode and Portlaoise have plenty of experience at Leinster club level.
All Ireland Club semi finals:
Munster champions to play winners of Ulster. Connacht champions to play winners of Leinster.

I watched the match- I think its more a case of the standards must be dropping outside the city. Other than Nagle running in straight lines- they didnt offer a whole pile going forward

TG4s monday night show had highlights of the Cork football and hurling finals both of which were played in PUC on sunday. It was obvious how badly the ground was cut up after the football....and at the end of the hurling which followed, it was in a bad state. By comparison the pitch in Tralee seemed to be far better.
It was surprise given all the money spent on PUC

I think Pat O'Shea is starting to look like he is an exceptional football coach. Should Fitzmaurice bring him in?

Is pat still employed by the Munster council? Would that still prevent for acting as coach to the team rather than managing it? He looks to have a real understanding of the tactics in the modern game, maybe more so than any other in the county.

I think EF should bring him on board but could not see it working - Pat O'Shea has been Kerry bainisteoir so would imagine he would want to be the main man. Again, Donie Buckley could perhaps be persuaded to throw in his lot with his native county and being a coach would sit well with him - alas, when it did not happen in 2013, cannot see it happening now!

Great second half performance by the Crokes. Clonmel made life tough but once Crokes got going they showed good character. The B team won promotion to Division 3. A great achievement. The Minors are in the East Kerry Final. The u14s won the East Kerry Championship. The u16s had a good year. It has a been a great year for the Club. The future is bright.

Could not get over the poor fare in the Dublin final - woeful stuff really
In earnest Crokes have a great chance to annex another AI club- not much out there to stop them I reckon
Crokes Vincents Slaughtneil Castlebar Mitchels
Anyone else with potential to win it outside of those 4?

Corofin would also be serious contenders. They play St Brigids next weekend. They should win that and while they struggled in the Galway Semi Final, they have crusied through the rest of their games and would fancy them to beat Castlebar.

Pat O Shea is a genius and seems to be streets ahead of the rest tactically. One of his best attributes is his ability to keep players like Jordan Kiely, Tony Brosnan, Chris Brady etc happy while sitting on the bench. These players would start with any club in Ireland and probably make 23 or 24 county panels and he has the ability to keep them happy on the bench while playing limited time.
Dublin final was disappointing last night alright. I give Corofin a big chance of going far this year. I think they will win Connaught but Castlebar are also a good side. Brigids are not the force they once were. Slaughtneil are a formidable outfit, lets not forget they were in control against Crokes until the sending off.

I sat down last night expecting a good game of football in perfect conditions in Parnell Park but it was fairly putrid stuff. It wasnt helped by a ref who gave some very soft frees inside the 45. For Vincents Ger Brennan played to extra man role at the back well and of course Connolly was different class up front. I also thought Brian Mullins son had a good game in midfield, considering the (fair) belt he got in the first minute. For Ballymun, Philly McMahon just wanted to ref the game and not play in it. Dean Rock was invisible.
Crokes seem to have learned a lot about this competition in recent years. A few years ago, they would not have won that game in Clonmel when reduced to 14 men after 35 minutes. Watching their last 3 games in the Kerry championship, I noted that Crokes had become well accustomed to the dark arts and have a cynical edge to them. A few years ago I think they would have been seen as a soft touch by some - not anymore.
