Looking for any ideas. Friends coming up from Galway with fairly young kids and want to park close as possible to Croker. Is Clonliffe college an option and would you need to be there very early? Any other thoughts, they are going to cusack stand. Thanks folks.

Clonliffe is fine - safe and supervised, but be prepared to have to wait to get out if you stay for both matches.Bring a picnic or a football and let the kids have a play about till the heavy traffic subsides. I park there all the time up to the Finals. Be very careful of parking on the street, I got clamped at the league final in 2010, it will never happen again.

It depends on how early you are prepared to get there - plenty of good on street parking (just read the parking signs) at 11am if your willing to park and head back to O Connell street for an hour or two and take in the atmosphere. If you are getting there later then Clonliffe is a good option.

Why not park in Maynooth (there is pay parking at the railway station)and get the train in to Drumcondra. There should be plenty of parking before the Mayo gang arrive. Extra trains are added to the normal schedule (every half hour up to 3) and these are usually packed with country supporters. It is not a long walk from Drumcondra to the Cusack. Return trains leave Drumcondra when they are full.
If you get a train further west than Maynooth, you will be charged main line fares.

Defo head for Maynooth and get the train from there to Drumcondra. It will bring you within a stones throw of Croker

Clonliffe college can be a nightmare. I remember leaving after our QF in 2014, and it took 2 hours just to get to the start of the motorway. Normally I'd be home in that time! The Monaghan Dublin match was still ongoing when we left too.
It is handy for Croke Park though, and safer than on street parking.

A good option if they are coming in early from Galway is park on Botanic Ave , start of the Avenue is free parking, further down the Avenue closer to Drumcondra is pay and display. Coming into Dublin from M50 you can exit either junction (5) Finglas or exit junction (4) Ballymun both will leave you down to Botanic Ave. It's about 25 min walk from Botanic Ave to Croke Park. But it's only 10 min's from Fagans pub and a good few restaurants along the way if they wanted to pass a bit of time. At least when game is over you can walk past all the traffic, jump in car and easily head back towards M50.
