Jeez Delorean, there's no flies on you!! I was going to ask who scored against Bayern Munich but I think a lot more people might have known that one. Dave survived the long lean years to get 2 All Ireland medals. His Cork City career as player and later manager wasn't too bad either. I've a good memory for stuff over twenty years ago, not so hot on what happened yesterday or the day before. Barry can rest assured that I won't try to take his goal against Bayern off him... cracker.

Delorean...are you too young to remember Miah Dennehy. If he played gaelic i think Cork would have won more all irelands that one in the 70s.

Other than the famous hat-trick in the FAI Cup final (is he still the only player to have done this - probably not?) I wouldn't know anything about him. Didn't even know he played GAA at all to be honest.

Imagine the disappointment that such recollection was not so vivid at exam times. One might argue the data was never in the bank to be surfaced. Reluctant to concede that

Looking at the increasing fitness levels of all players across the country each year Hogan's model will become the norm. The levels of fitness on offer last weekend were staggering.

Any idea who the ghost writer is? I expect it might be someone from the Examiner as he is now part of their GAA coverage....

Gooch wrote in an article a couple of weeks in the Examiner, referenced the 'mule' who said "it was a great thing that happened to your cruciate". A name to the mule?

Pot - Kettle - Black is what springs to mind. We all know Semple stadium is not home venue for Tipperary and so it bestows no advantage on them. Its the spiritual home of hurling and should not be confused with home venue for the county it just happens to be located in - bit like Croke Park.............

I dont agree with onlykerry here. This is a big advantage to Tipp. Cork hurlers love Thurles and Tipp have no advantake in playing Cork in Thurles. Waterford naively agreed to come to Thurles in recent years and got a trimming.
Limerick and Clare have home and away arrangements with Tipp.
Am i correct in saying that these games were meant to be at neutral venues.
The Dub hurlers are not conferred with any special status by the GAA ...they are very much the poor relation in comparison to the footballers.

Mick - I guess my sarcasm was too subtle for you - of course its wrong but no more wrong than allowing Dublin own Croke Park for their big games. A neutral ground does not have a home supporters section. I have long objected to the preferential treatment Dublin get when playing in Croke Park - always given the Hill end to warm up on etc.

The Dublin hurlers going to Thurles to play Tipp is no different to Westmeath, Kildare and many others going to Croke Park to play the Dublin footballers.

I dont know how the Dublin County Board representative can actually keep a straight face when complaining about the hurlers having to play Tipp in Thurles.

Onlykerry....on reading your post a second time the sarcasm is jumping off the screen!
I met the father of one of the dublin hurlers last night and the unfairness of having to play Tipp in Thurles was the first thing he talked about.

Maybe the best comparison is to look at the last time the Dublin footballers were in the qualifiers and see how many of their matches were played in a neutral venue. They also played tipp on the qualifiers that year, which I have a vague recollection was played in croke park. You might be able to confirm.
