I'm hearing some of the teams involved on Sunday in replays aren't best pleased to be out again the following Friday in Round 2 action..factor in Kerry went up the country midweek to play a challenge game and you could be talking about some players having 4 games in 12 days. Was this not only up to Limerick, which is hardly the ends of the earth ? If you're living in Dingle or Kenmare it's 2 hours up,arriving an hour before hand ,70 minutes of a game and 2 hous down...that enough out of any man's day!!

One can sympathise with the fixture dilema both from player and administrator point of view - however I am not hearing many suggestions. Extra time was played in the hope of separating the sides should a second period be played or should a coin toss take place or a countback on cards issued (particularly as the games are not final eliminators).

Stacks always the better team but couldn't convert their chances and kill off a dogged St. Kerians. Stacks up 6 - 2 after 20 mins, 6 each at half time. Stack were up three after 50 when Philip O'Connor pounced on a mistake and goaled. Stacks kicked 2 points but St. Kierans missed a penalty with 3 minutes to go.
Finished Austin Stacks 0-14 St Kierans 1-09

After last nights results- all I can think of is that I really want to see what would happen if Crokes played Shannon Rangers- it feels like it has the potential for 1 of 2 types of things to happen:
1) some parallel universe win for Shannon Rangers where they silence all their critics 2) A hammering that will need the benny hill theme music played in the background to really give it justice
Prob the latter

Two facile games in the Crokes pitch today South Kerry swatted aside a Kilcummin side that look like they're playing Intermediate football already. East Kerry had a surprisingly easy win over a very poor Mid Kerry. Worth the admission fee anyway to see David Clifford's goal, East Kerry's third on the stoke of half time.

Did he score another two goals today? Something else this lad.

Which clubs are playing with East Kerry this year? Gneeveguilla Spa Glenflesk Fossa Firies Listry Good young team, a lot would have won County Minor Championship in 2013 and lost County u21 Final in 2015 And will almost certainly be joined by Kilcummin next year.

Agree but Barry John is one of the players of the championship so far - outstanding again today, 0-06, 4 from play. could you throw up a few lines about the game....including the score? Strand Rd 2-13, Dingle 3-09 Great game, Rahillys flew out of the blocks & against the wind led by 2-5 to 0-1 after 15 minutes; Tommy Walsh started full forward but pulled up with a recurrence of his hamstring injury after just 2/3 minutes. Strand Rd were totally dominant in midfield through David Moran & Con Barrett and won most of the aerial Battles all day. Their goals came from John Ferguson & Gazza Savage who was on as Tommy' s replacement. Dingle got back into it through good play from Tom O'Sullivan, Paul , Mickey & Conor Geaney- Paul & Conor goaled to leave just a point in it @ h/t, 2-7 to 2-6. Rahillys again started like a train & hit 0-6 to 0-1 in the first quarter of the second half - David Moran from a " 45" after the keeper made a great save from Barry John plus another from play for David; Dingle were awarded a penalty shortly after when the ref adjudged that Con Barrett had fouled the ball when saving on the line - Paul G took it but it was brilliantly saved by Gary Kissane though Paul netted the rebound. There were only two more points scored, both by Dingle but they ran out of time - they did kick a few wayward shots on goal when a little bit more composure might have rewarded them, however Rahillys were a much better side and had outstanding performers in Ross O'Callaghan, Cormac Coffey, David Moran, Con Barrett, Barry John & Jack Savage- Jack won great ball on the " 40" and despite carrying an injury was always involved.

There are very good reports on all the games on the Kerry GAA website. I don't think the comments are fair to St Brendan's. With a conductor of Colm Cooper's quality goals will always be scored against a divisional side where the defence isn't used to playing together. The far more striking statistic is the fact that Brendans practically matched them for points right to the end. That's what the more discerning managers around the county will have noted.

Brendans were a shambles at the weekend. Going toe to toe with Crokes without some kind of defensive plan in place to protect the full back line was like sending lambs out to the slaughter.

To try and summarise - open to correction.
Through to the QF's - played when Kerry exit Championship Crokes, Rathmore, Rahillys and the winners from Stacks & Legion
Round 3 to be played after Munster Final Pot 3A - Dingle, St Brendans, Feale Rangers and loser of the Stacks/Legion Game Pot 3B - E. Kerry, S. Kerry, winners of the Kenmare derby and winners of W. Kerry v St Kierans
3A teams to be drawn against 3B teams - winners to QF, losers out for 2017.
Out of 2017 Championship Kilcummin, Mid Kerry, Loser of Kenmare derby and loser of W. Kerry v St Kierans

Can anyone play anyone in the QFs then or is it straight through teams against round 3 teams?

I believe its the R 3 winners drawn against the 4 already through with ealier pairings avoided where possible.

Can anyone play anyone in the QFs then or is it straight through teams against round 3 teams? That's correct - Crokes, Rathmore, Rahillys + Stacks or Legion are grouped together and will play 4 winners from round 3B - huge advantage in winning your first two rounds - also repeat pairings are avoided where possible.

3 game in 3 weeks between these sides, and it finished 1 win 1 loss and 1 draw and 1 draw extra time
Stephen o brien was a huge loss for kenmare in their game v legion. legion just about deserved their win but kenmare missed a free with the last kick of the game which would have levelled it. a strong crossfield gale blew for the game and it probably had an effect for all the goals. kenmare went 4 up early on but legion fought back to be level at the break. legions physical strength a major factor around midfield. a strange event took place before the start of the second half as a legion player was booked coming back onto the field. kenmare goaled first when Kelly was beaten to the punch under a dropping ball by brian o Sullivan, but legion replied in a few minutes by james o Sullivan . legion then had a goal disallowed for square ball [correctly] after they dispossessed a kenmare defender. james Sullivan soon added a second goal but kenmare to their credit never gave up and brought it to 1 point and that last missed free.
james o donoughue really got stuck in ,especially in the second half and kicked some great points, but it was the physical strength around the middle where they really dominated. for kenmare sean o shea had a great tussle with j lyne constantly getting ball in front of him and kicked some great points. kevin o Sullivan and minor Michael McCarthy also played well.
great local derby next Friday night for this young kenmare team.

Interesting to see four club sides progressing straight to the QF's - probably the old adage of it taking the divisional sides a few rounds to get into their stride. Would still expect S Kerry to be a force in this years competition but the stop start nature of the fixtures won't help the divisional sides.
