It is a narrative about a person's journey in trying to remember an article that may or may not have been real and may or may not have mentioned Cavan... I'm sorry, I'm only taking the piss there. No worries. I have tried to find it but can't so I move to withdraw my remarks. I think Dublin have enjoyed a lot of neutral support in recent years but is this changing this year? Time will tell.

Met a Corkman earlier today who told me he was hoping we "hammer the f@ckers" - I nearly fell over in shock. If Cork folk are willing to admit that, I think it's fair to say that the Dubs definitely aren't everyone's darlings.

Team named.
Lyne in for BJK, the only change. Donaghy on the bench.

One change ... Lyne for BJK with McCarthy named in the corner and Mikey Geaney at centre forward. Donaghy named on the bench.

Tom, I just get a list of search results, mostly GAA related - it looks like just the search URL above as opposed to the landing page of the article you wished to flag? Exactly. They are a search for 'good dublin gaa win' between January 2010 and the day before the 2011 final. I don't find anything. My name isn't Tom. Jaysis, that lad in the picture put me in mind of it.

Bit disappointed to be honest. Dropping a speedster for a work horse. I know they scored a lot last week but, at best that's a very workmanlike half line. Nor much pace either

Doubt if it's a dummy team Listowel. Fitzy has only done that once in his tenure. Donaghy back for presence in the dressing room I presume.
Kerry team chosen and set out to try to repeat Tralee performance. A premium being placed on hard running and high intensity. Subs to come in as game opens up and to keep the pace high.
Bring it on......rip into 'em boys.
Up The Kingdom.

We are in for an unmerciful hammering if thats our starting 15! Why is Jack Barry not starting? Why is Jonathan Lyme starting?

I think we are going to seriously miss Cillian and Shane, a couple of pacy backs there but a couple of worryingly light ones, this time last year Kilkenny did some damage so I hope they get the match ups right. I would also like to see Barry on there too but they might be going to press high on the kick outs and use the big men to win out there if Cluxton has his options limited. Should be a great game and I hope we learn plenty

Paul Geaney Dingle 15. Stephen O'Brien Kenmare
Fir Ionaid:

Nobody dropped as such to include Donaghy - but this breaches Mach day panel rule of 26

There have been 27 named for all our league matches. Last weekend both Kerry and Tyrone had 27 in the programme. As far as I am aware number 27 can't be brought on.

The same starting 14 of 15 flogged Tyrone last week, Tyrone in Croke Park would have beaten Dublin, if they'd not lost a man. So, where do you see the hammering coming from, there's no evidence for it. What changes would you make?

I really wonder about some of the posts on this forum at times. Pretty off the wall stuff without evidence or without any reference to prior games.

Tyrone never got off the bus last week, they treated it as a glorified challenge game with no intensity or clear tactic whatsoever, so if we reading into that performance we are in trouble! In terms of changes, Jack Barry definitely should be in the 15, Spillane/BJK/Darren/Sheehan or McCarthy to 11 and Geaney to 10 would all offer more than Lyno! Are we going to persevere with the 4th best keeper (Murphy, Ryan, Kelly) in the county? Fantastic servant who owes Kerry football nothing but, simply there are better out there in my opinion.

I think this is one of the best selections for some time.
Jack Barry is again unlucky. I know Anthony needs game time. Jack will be introduced sooner rather than later -not necessarily for Anthony.
Good to see Paul Murphy in the half back line and Jonathan Lyne in the forwards which is where he belongs at inter county level.
Kevin McCarthy deserves to hold his place but don't expect him to stay in the corner.
Glad to see Stephen O'Brien in there and to see Donaghy on the bench - he might be Plan C after 65 minutes.
Fans in the capital are much more measured than I have seen them for some time and it seems to be all fans right across the board. They see themselves as having had a mediocre league, Fitzmaurice's comments have hit a nerve and as one ardent fan said to me today they can beat the Tyrones and the Mayos but in spite of all their success in recent years they know they will be in trouble the day Kerry clicks.

Delighted for the likes of Shanahan and McCarthy, and Barry et al who will hopefully get runs. This team is selected for pace and direct running - something which Monaghan and Tyrone showed has worked against the blue lads. Very difficult to combat pace....
This feels like a new generation - Gooch gone, and only Donaghy left over from the mid noughties team. Chance for the new lads to have a go, and who knows......

We are in for an unmerciful hammering if thats our starting 15! Why is Jack Barry not starting? Why is Jonathan Lyme starting? Finishing 15 as important as starting 15! Engage brain before tongue. That is a formidable team and we will get a return here, one way or another, and we will beat Dublin this year.

Priorites... Stop dublin scoring goals..a task more difficult with mccaffrey back. Get possession from our own restarts. The fixation with cluxton masks the fact that dublin have done savage damage to kerry in 2015 and 2016 from kerrys kickout.
Kerry are in with a chance if the above goes well but its easier said than done

Star has not kicked a ball in anger since October, yet is on the bench- so much for form in training.

Kieran has been training one night a week with the footballers while winning a national title in Basketball.bringing him on will give a much needed foil for Paul Geaney if and when he's sprung from the bench.

Time to lay down a marker. EF stood up during the week and I really admire him for that. No reason we can't complete. What will decide it is if Darren, bjk, star and Barry can have a really big impact from the bench and why can't they! Ciarrai Abu!

Tyrone did not treat it as a challenge game, if they won they were in the final. Maybe Kerry played well, and made Tyrone look bad, or maybe Tyrone were unintentionally sh1te, or Kerry intentionally made them sh1te. One of them no doubt. Kealy who has definitely had problems with high balls and kick outs, is having neither and is playing solidly. Lyne in half forward is definitely curious one, but I think Eamonn had some reason or gut feeling for putting him in. Running and tracking I'd wager. Jack Barry has become a great addition and option, he's in his first year. It's a big game, he's not been out in Croker in front of the mob. Maybe the old bad dog Maher is the best choice and Jack can come in and flourish in later stages? Kerry did play well last week, I can't be argued from it. 😉
