Just had to delete some posts there. Remember all these players are amateur at the end of the day.
You van voice an opinion in a constrictive manner rather than go in all guns blazing

Very unfair comments on Mikey here. As far as I can see, he always puts it in for Kerry when he gets on. There's always one or 2 players who seem to be targeted for criticism on here. BJK is another. If they're picked, they shouldn't be; if they're not picked, they're useless and shouldn't be on the panel. FFS, some fellas can't win! Southward unfortunetly every county has a few players who come in for stick ( the most vocal and abusive internet heads are usually the most useless on a pitch). Opinions on set ups and starting 15 is always interesting and a worthwhile debate . But personally slating guys and management who give massive hours to a county really solves nothing and adds nothing to debate.

The holier than thou Dub media brigade are becoming a bit of a comic team at this stage- from the attacks on Keegan last year to the above! There wasnt too many articles written about Phillys gouging or Michael Darragh's antic last year- I'm not singling out the Dub players as everyone is at the same lark and trying to gain any advantage possible but the above article is pathetic tripe by a classless goon Are you serious??? There was many an article about Philly and many a classless goon from your own county had their cúpla focail. The reason most here and in the real world are getting so pissed off with this and other articles mentioning Kerry tactics recently is because you know it's true. Good man- it's funny how you reference most in the real world being annoyed with it while also claiming it to be the truth- do you know what irony is? Do you understand it as a concept? I'll try my best to explain to you if needs be

Anyone know if the game is on TV or if there's deferred coverage? TG4 live games are Monaghan v Dublin at 2, and Galway v Waterford in the hurling at 4. Deferred game is Kilkenny v Wexford.

There was a ridiculous post on this thread last night, I'm not sure how many Kerry club or intercounty games the said poster goes to a year (I'd guess less than ten) so the display today of the recipient of the bile will probably go over the posters head seen as the game wasn't on TV.
By far the best display in the last two league campaigns, full of drive, verve and high energy football. It looked to me that a few players knew they were probably playing for their place in the panel during the summer. And they delivered.
I think the half forward line contributed 1-10 from play. Mark Griffin was brilliant on Sean Cavanagh. David Moran and Morley continued their fine form. Kealy made a few good saves.
Great to have another crack at Dublin and an early season visit to Croker. Bring it on.

Great performance today with Kerry on top in all sectors. They appeared very focused today with a lot of conviction in their play. Donnchadh was outstanding. Full-back line was solid. Half-back line continuously drove on and good to see scores coming from there. Moran superb again. Mikey Geaney answered a few critics today. Kealy was fine but was literally sleeping on his line for the first goal!

Today was a good result but Tyrone were poor for the majority of thr game but some very encouraging performances
Kealy - Made two excellent saves,His kickouts were also excellent but please take him off the free's
Fionn Fitzgerald - Played well on his man drove out of defence when required bit sloppy at times will make way for Enright next time out Mark Griffin - Was excellent throughout IMO Ronan Shanahan - Another super performance
Peter Crowley - Another poor outing for Peter and has struggled throughout the campaign badly need Killian Young back Tadhg Morley - Good display and has improved throughout the league Paul Murphy - No fear of this man and another top outing from him
David Moran - Superman Anthony Maher - Did well and allows alot more freedom for Moran
Michael Geaney - MOTM in the 1st half,Kept tearing away in the second half will enjoy seeing him v the Dubs
Kevin McCarthy - Did well in the first but faded rapidly in the second,Centre forward is a specialist position and maybe lacks that tiny bit of cutting edge but can be happy with his 1st half display Donnchadh Walsh - Donnacha of old again today-superb
Barry John Keane - Did some good things and some not so good but a decent performance Paul Geaney - Didnt get on enough ball throughout the game and found the Tyrone full back a tricky customer Stephen O’Brien - One of his better outings used his pace well kicked a good score Bryan Sheehan - Never got into the game Jonathan Lyne - Injected a load of pace into the right side of attack,Built for the Dubs IMO Darran O’Sullivan - Anonymous Jack Barry - If you give a guy MOTM for being on the field for 11mins it would be him,Super cameo,He is the man for Fenton Gavin Crowley - Would like to see more of this guy in a Kerry jersey has a mountain of football in him
No sign of Jack Savage or Adrian Spillane two of our brightness hopes for 2017.
Good to get to a league final but the team is still stale and could benefit from at least 8 u21's making the step up

The merchants of doom won't b happy True, someone will eat their hat as mentioned in a past post :-) Supplies of hats and humble pie will be running low tonight. There was even a preview of the game on the official Kerry GAA homepage saying our chance had evaporated and we were just playing for pride. Couldn't see why we were being written off when all the results we needed were odds on shots. Great performance today, had a good feeling about it when Killarney was basking in sunshine in the lead up to throw in. We don't tend to lose games on a fine day in Killarney. Midfield and the half forward line were outstanding today. Kevin McCarthy won't make the headlines but he really carried the game to Tyrone in that 1st half where the game was won. Donnchadh and Mikey Geaney played like men who had read they should be thrown on the scrap heap. If there was a MOTM award it'd be between Donnchadh and David Moran who was immense once again today. Great to see Mark Griffin silence a few critics as well.

What a way to get to a final! Great performance today, great to see us racking up the scores, playing with cohesion and confidence. Moran was unreal, playing fantastic stuff and hopefully he will carry this form to Croke Park next weekend and into the championship. Delighted, also to see a good spread of scorers and our defence on top, for the most part. Tyrone are very poor, granted they were without 2 of their better players but they appeared to play aimless, predictable and pedestrian football. Three defeats on the spin for Tyrone, not how they want to end their league campaign. They just don't appear to have enough quality forwards to make an impact come championship time. Looking forward to the final, nothing to fear, nothing to lose. Play like we did today and we will go very close.

Last week against Mayo they scored 0-12, the previous week 0-6 against Donegal. 1-9 of the 2-11 came from frees which says a world. They had scored 1 goal in 6 games prior to today, but got 2 today (albeit one from a penalty) and Kealy had plenty to do on the shot-stopping front as well.

Cut out the daft ones. It must be standing out like a sore thumb in the match stats and analysis. Dean Rock kicked 0-9 against in Tralee from frees. So we've had our warning before the next day. That said it's fantastic to be getting an early run out in Croker and another crack at the Dubs! Great experience for Ronan Shanahan, Jack Barry and probably Kevin McCarthy. More Croke Park experience for Tadhg Morley. Result today finished off a great week. U21 Munster champions, Sem All-Ireland champions (four All-Ireland school's in a row now) and a good win today and a League final. Some more big games ahead now in the next few weeks. League final, U21 All-Ireland semi and the Minors have their first run of the year. This is what it's about as the evenings are getting longer again.

Great day to be in Killarney with the sun shining and Kerry playing like Kerry. For me a win against Tyrone is always welcome and the emphatic nature of this victory more so. I have to say that I saw neither this nor qualification for the final coming. I am quite prepared to eat a large slice of humble pie if we can manage to prevail next weekend We will need to send out the team that won today and not the team that scraped a draw against Cavan. We have shown that we can raise our game when the stakes are high and that gives me some hope which I will certainly travel with next weekend

Am I missing something with everyone having to eat humble pie? Kerry played well against a limited and on the day poor Tyrone team. I just read back thru the thread and most people seemed to be criticising with the dubs in mind.
We very sloppy at the start of the second half and reverted to slow hand passing with no out ball as our full forwards were back the pitch.
Great to see Mikey Geaney play well. Mark griffin did very well in the first half. He is definitely not suited to the smaller forward.
Be interesting to see if both Maher and Moran start in croke park

I had a feeling kerry would win well today and that mayo would beat donegal. The top three asserting themselves. Tyrone inhabits a place in kerrys heart that only cork and dublin do. And kerry nearly always lose the home league in february and win the last one in april.
Ronan shanahan and jack barry are real finds. Wheels have come off tyrone since the drawn game with dublin.
Like the cavan game, kealy was allowed to find his man easily enough today. Dublin wont do that.
Kerry will have to make do with less possession next sunday i expect.

One of the poorest Tyrone teams for a long time. Ten points down at half time and needing a win to progress to the league final their response was to come out in the second half put 14 players behind the ball and kill the game. The second half was a bore from a spectators point of view. Tyrone don't look like a top four team.
Kerry looked for a performance in this league against Donegal, Dublin, yesterday against Tyrone and the first half against Mayo. The rest of the league is forgettable and laced with indifference from Kerry.
With five minutes to go yesterday Monaghan and Donegal were in the league final. Kerry fell into this years league final courtesy of a late goal from Jack McCaffery and a late brace of frees from Cillian O'Connor . I presume they'll be interested in looking for a performance now in the final?

It has been an extraordinary NFL in that Dublin aside and Donegal to a lesser extent most teams have been woefully inconsistent. Kerry epitomise this more than most teams and indeed they tend to go one step further in that their topsy turvy form manifests itself within a particular match. Yesterdey, they continued in that vein, mixing the very good with occasional exhibitions of the sloppy, undesirable play we see too often in recent times. In summary, the first half was probably the best half since the Donegal match and while the second half fade out was not as stark on this occasion we did allow an amazingly poor Tyrone side creep back into the game, so much so that a kick of the ball may have upscuttled our scoring difference and thereby eliminate us from the competition.
Playing against the wind in the first half it quickly became apparent that Kerry were in the mood to lift the gloom they have caused to descend on the county this spring. And lift it they did. Apart from the usual concession of sully frees, it was difficult to find fault with what was unfolding. Tight at the back with Mark Griffin setting the standard in submerging Sean Kavanagh, David Moran dominant at midfield and, for the first time in a long time , a half forward line who did a lot more than do donkey work ,outscoring their more illustrious colleagues in the full forward line. The goal resulted from a smart kick pass from David to Michael Geaney who neatly tucked it away. That was very early in the game and even at that stage it was obvious that the day would be ours so puny was the Tyrone resistance. Paul Geaney, very quiet in general play, was unerring from frees. In spite of our dominance, it was disconcerting that Brendan Kealy was called upon to make two excellent saves and of course we continued to give away baby frees although it must be confessed that some of these were the result of decisions from another exemplar of the long line of joke referees which the GAA continue to inflict on us. In any case we comfortably led 1-12 to 0-6 at half time with the wind to come.
For the first ten minutes or so in the second half we decided to demonstrate our putrid side. I know Tyrone retreated and retreated but, as tends to happen, we become paralysed when confronted by this tactic. At times we did open them up and kept the scoring board ticking over. However in their odd foray they caught us for two goals. The first one seemed to come from nowhere. The ball was crossed in and fielded by Peter Harte. There didn't appear to be any danger as he was surrounded by a couple of players but he seemed to screw it over the "wall" and into the top of the net. Peter was possibly going for a point . I suspect Brendan Kealy thought so in any case. Then Ronan Shanahan, he has had a fine NFL, crudely brought down his opponent . The penalty was converted by the aforementioned Peter Harte. It also meant a red for Ronan, a yellow following a black. In spite of the concession of these goals we comfortably held out.
Whatever misgivings some people on here have with Brendan's kicks out they must surely admit that he is as good as any for stopping shots.
I am not sure what is the problem with Peter Crowley. Is he carrying an injury? I don't think he has finished any match in the NFL. I would like to see him being given a run in the full back line.
David Moran continued his fine form. He has been taken away from the frees and he did not essay any risky cross field kick passes. My only crib with him is that he tended to take too much out of the ball and was lucky not to be whistled on a couple of occasions for holding on. Anthony Maher was well off the pace. I suppose this is not surprising. One thing that is disappointing about the latest reincarnation of Anthony is that he seems to have given up on catching the ball, choosing to break it down. A dubious tactic. Jack Barry brought much more energy when he came on.
The half forward line was the revelation. Not content with his usual beaver like work ethic, Doncha decided to go mad and score six points. There was a time when wing forwards were expected to do a significant amount of scoring but now they are expected to be work horses so I don't know what Doncha was at! Indeed Michael Geaney got into the act as well, scoring 1-2. Michael had an effective first half but faded in the second half. I was impressed with Kevin McCarthy on the forty. He was very busy and scored one point. I was dismayed when he was replaced in the second half when the match was won. Kevin needed the full match, particularly after missing most of the Cavan match. He is not too far away and needs encouragement to build his confidence. One feels he would benefit enormously from having an old war horse like KD or Colm Cooper to hold his hand. Either way, it was a mistake to have him replaced especially as I say when the match was secured.
None of the full forward line stood out but at least it was reassuring that Paul was so certain with the frees.
Shane Enright did not line up with the subs so presumably he will not be available next Sunday.
The fussy referee did his best to be the central figure and sadly he succeeded. In a match that did not have a hint of malice he decided to whistle for the most innocuous of contacts and repeatedly called play back even when the "fouled" team had won possession further up the field. He frustrated players and supporters alike and perhaps being put out to grass for the rest of the season would benefit friend and foe.
So, by default, Kerry find themselves in the final. At best their campaign has been indifferent. At times it has been dire and most of the criticism in their direction, players and management alike, has been merited. I am not sure what next Sunday has in store . My hope is that we do not have a reprise of the spite ridden Tralee affair.
PS. Apparently, Kieran Donaghy played a leading role for Tralee Warriors in securing a national basketball title over the weekend up in Donegal. How appropriate his team is known as the Warriors. The term warrior was invented for men like Kieran. One of the greatest sportsmen Kerry has produced. Delighted for him.

Congrats to the team and Management on making the final. Given how mixed our form has been it is a very good achievement.
On the surface this seemed like one of our more energetic games in the NFL, especially in the first half. However, given the paucity of the opposition on the day this match had the touch of a phony war game about it. I was delighted to see the likes of Mike Geaney cease the day but bigger tests now lie ahead. Let’s proceed with caution would be the message. It’s a shame we won’t have our full hand available as one feels against the Dubs we would need all the troops back, the likes of Killian Young and JOD are big losses but we live in hope for a good account and you never know!
