Obviously Mark goes straight in - but the question said leave him out. If we are allowed to have him there - he goes in!

Shane Ryan Brian Begley Jason Foley Tom O Sullivan Gavin White Andrew Barry Mikey Potts Diarmuid O Connor Mike Breen Brian Seanchain Sean O Shea Liam Carey Conor Geaney David Clifford Jordi Kiely
Some excellent players excluded.....Daniel O Brien, JM Foley, Killian Spillane, Bryan Sweeney, Jack Morgan all very good players. Think Barry O' Sullivan is highly overrated. Also, Dara Moynihan looked to be excellent with the Sem and the minors but his development stalled these past 2 years and I saw a good few Spa games where he failed to impress. Micheal Burns is too selfish and rarely plays the ball to the man in a better position unless he is forced to do so, he's not a team player. I have only picked two from this years team because I haven't seen many of them play with their respective clubs etc. Cian Gammell, Donal O Sullivan and especially Brian Friel from this years team all have plenty of potential. It's a hard task picking this because there are about 7 automatics I reckon and you could make arguments for many of the other positions.

Rob Wharton was very impressive yesterday for South Kerry, I have not seen a whole pile of him but he looks like a player who could move to the senior ranks? What do people who have seen more of him reckon?

Half back he played.
Not sure who the goalkeeper was and don't have the programme on me. Fionan Clifford Mark Griffin Brian Sugrue Rob Wharton John Curran Paul O' Sullivan Brendan O' Sullivan Bryan Sheehan Conor O' Shea Paulie O' Donoghue Graham O' Sullivan Ronan Hussey Matthew O' Sullivan Daniel Daly
Killian Young didn't tog out and supposedly won't be available for remainder of the Championship. Bryan Sheehan came off injured early enough with what I think was a hamstring problem. Niall O Shea, Ian Galvin and Barry Dwyer came in for South Kerry.

Deividas Uosis, Cian Gammell, Michael Potts, Niall Donohue, Barry Mahony,David Clifford, Donal O’Sullivan and Fiachra Clifford all named in the first Minor All-Star Team. The 15 players selected will be formally recognised at the inaugural GAA Minor Star Awards that will take place in Croke Park on 7 October. www.the42.ie/minor-star-football-team-of-the-year-3614560-Sep2017/

"The four-man awards selection panel consisted of Meath boss Andy McEntee, Clare coach Dónal Óg Cusack, Armagh legend Oisín McConville and Cuala manager Mattie Kenny."
What does Dónal Óg know about football?

Cavan are very unlucky to only have 1. I thought their no 9 (Smith) was a very good footballer.

The two Derry lads that Clifford got his 4-4 off are both on the team, makes his performance all the more remarkable.

Thanks for that. What injury has Killian got? I'm not quite sure what Killian's injury is but they did say he was unlikely to feature in the County Championship. The goalkeeper for South Kerry was Padraig O' Sullivan from Skellig Rangers.

Cavan are very unlucky to only have 1. I thought their no 9 (Smith) was a very good footballer. Agreed - he was outstanding against us. Diarmuid O'Connor a bit unlucky too, surely. On the other hand, Uosis maybe fortunate - had some dodgy moments, I thought. All-in-all, eight spots isn't over-generous considering that Kerry basically massacred all opposition this year.

What does Dónal Óg know about football? Donal Óg might be an expert on football matters for all I know but he's only known as a hurling man. I think this is a bit of an insult to the minors, frankly. Surely there's any number of football pundits they could have got. Is Mattie Kenny a football man? - Cuala would be better known for the small ball.

Presume it was 2 football pundits and 2 hurling pundits Yeah, I'm sure the 2 hurlers picked the hurling All-Stars and the 2 footballers picked the football All-Stars, otherwise, while the footballers might be aggrieved with former Cork and Galway hurlers picking them, the hurlers would have much more cause for aggrievement with former Armagh and Meath footballers picking them!

It's a disgrace Diarmuid O'Connor didn't get one. Next to David Clifford he was Kerrys best minor all year.
