Was there some hassle with the ref in this one? I've seen it mentioned that the Crokes 2nd goal should not have stood or that he admitted he made a mistake and it should not have stood?
Fierce display by Kenmare in fairness

Era Kenmare can hardly be complaining about refs with a straight face after earlier rounds of this competition.

There was some complaints about the first Crokes' goal. Fionn Fitzgerald was passing the ball in from the midfield. After he kicked the ball he got a late hit. Ref Peter Lyons blew the whistle for a free as Kieran O'Leary won the ball on the 20m line. Kieran took the free from there to an onrushing Johnny Buckley who goaled as the Kenmare players stopped to argue with the ref, expecting the free to be taken from where the foul was committed.

Fierce display by Kenmare in fairness Fierce display by Kenmare is right. Ref blew for a free, but Crokes played on and Buckley scored a goal. Very poor decision to allow the goal stand, but Kenmare don't seem to be complaining about it too much either. Era Kenmare are probably an example of a club where Fitzmaurice should be looking for new players from, rather than returning to the same fellas that have lost/cost us AIs and Semis.

Thanks yellow belly - sounds like they haven't much to complain about...if he was fouled in act of kicking you take the free from where it lands - assuming it landed on the 20m line, then Crokes were in their right to continue on with the correct free? Peter Lyons still good ref but think he's pushing on a bit - Paul Hayes or Brendan Griffin I would have thought they might have been given the final...
