Someone sent me along an email with a link to this thing. It's a rewards program for members of GAA clubs, that is going to be active from the start of January, but you can register/sign up now. grma.gaa.ie/This is the about page. A bit vague about what the rewards are but better than nothing I suppose.

Absolutely no detail on the site. The rewards could only be free cups of tea etc. I presume this site / card is being used as a marketing vehicle for the GAA sponsorship partners. You can expect endless emails to your inbox.
Its a good way for a company to get access to the large database of GAA members. I presume Data Protection excludes them from using the actual GAA member database but, with this 'new' database they can target certain sectors.

I signed up for it as a test case for our club, easy to register but you must know your membership number. There's nothing giving any indication of who the partners are or what the rewards are so I cant see many people rushing to sign up. Initially I thought they'd tie it into the Registration System but it appears not which is good from a Data Protection standpoint. Time will tell if there's any real benefit to it but no harm if I get something extra for my €60 a year membership fee.
