Teams must be sick of this going on so late? Them results look like they pick themselves. Brosna or Desmonds the most likely winners?

Could be ran off by November now barring any replays, which I'm firmly against. All games (including the final) should go to Extra-time, unfair to the players to go a full year, then start back up in January again for NKL. Ideally, they should ran off as so...

Fellas need some break from football and this keeps it running all year round.

Desmonds won comprehensively yesterday. Any report on the game? They now have to wait for over a month to play the second round going by the fixtures on the NK website

Understand Ballydonoghue have the county league play off but any reason why it can't be played another weekend as opposed to delaying it for one month??

How is the 1st round being spread over the space of a month? some teams with no games until mid November... whoever organises this competition should be fairly ashamed of themselves

Beale are in the Junior final. The two teams that made the intermediate SF and Junior F both played though. Both the St. Senans v Duagh and Ballylongford v Moyvane game could have easily gone ahead last weekend because neither had a fixture. As could the Knock/Emmets game. Now the championship is being held up by the Division 2 league final which should have been out of the way earlier in the year. The fixture committee really need to structure the competition better. All draws should be completed early in the year then run the fixtures.

St. Senans 4-12. Daugh 0-6. HT 2-6 0-2
The score line tells the story. The youthful, skillful , fleet of foot St. Senans gobbled up Duagh. Indeed the gobbling up was done by halftime. It is hugely diaappointing that Duagh have fallen so far , so recently after their glorious North Kerry triumph of a few years ago. Because of this precipitous cliff fall , one needs to urge caution in assessing the future prospects of tHe boys from the Half Way. If one took their display today at face value then a visit to Paddy Power could be profitable. But that is not the way of this wicked world. I believe Castlislamd is,the next hurdle and they are known to account for a lot of fallers.
Senans grabbed a few early points and when David Foran receiued from Sean Weir, who had made a long run , the former Kerry minor expertly shook the net. Even at that cock crow stage, one sensed that Duagh were in for a mauling. One sensed correctly. The stylish Sean O'Connell rattled the net also and points were thrown into the pot also. It was a Saturday roast which continued into the second half. Further goals were scored in that period via Cathal Kennelly and David Foran.. Only the fluidity of St. Senans play sustained the interest as the cold breeze began to take hold on feeble limbs.
The HalfWay were dominant in every sector , not least at midfield where the elegamt Damien Somers in particular and the oldest war horse in the western world, Breandan Whelan, were far superior to their opponents of whom Anthony Maher was largely anonymous.
The ever defiant Kieran Quirke , Niger O'Cnnor and Kieran Lucey tried the keep the tide out. That is always a fruitless task. When I recall the likes of Dan McAuliffe, Billy Droan ,Pat Dillon I can feel nothing but an overwhelming sadness at the present plight of The Mall.

Tarbert 1-16 Moyvane 0-7. HT 1-6 0-3
This was competitive enough for the first ten or fifteen minutes but when Moyvane could not deal with a hight ball Michael Carrig latched on to it and shot low and direct to the net. Even at that early stage , because of the way the teams were shaping up , one felt that the issue was decided. It was. The more the game went on the more dominant Tarbert became and final score reflects their superiority . It was tame and civilised all through .
The likes of Ambrose Lanigan, Michael Heaphy and especiallly Shane Enright snuffed out the Moyvane attack without expending too much energy.. In their attack, Shane O'Connor kicked two from frees and three from play, Mi heal Carrig scored 1-1 and the hugely impressive Andrew Doherty kicked two from play and about five from frees.
Donal Leahy at midfield for Moyvane was outstanding , the best midfielder on view. Sadly. He did not get enough help. Bill Madden and Shane Stack, who kicked a massive point in the first half were their better defenders. Tim Noonan was by far their best attacker , scoring two, points , but it was a shame that he had to come out so far to win possession. Martin Stack kicked a few good frees but missed a few also.
Too unevenly contested to be enjoyable but still it was nice to get to sample the beautifully mild weather.
