A player called Quinn Saunders from Wexford? What is the world coming to? I played a match once down in Cork against a lad called Sandy Remington. It wasn't GAA I'll tell you that much.

Anyone have any info on St Peter's?
I was at a game involving another Wexford school Good Counsel against the Sem in Clonmel 2 years ago. It was the All Ireland u16 1/2 final and they beat this very Sem team but that team included Clifford coming on, although as I recall he was carrying an injury. That Good Counsel team interesting had a good few Kilkenny lads playing football and a lad called Tomas O'Connor who now plays professional soccer with Southampton got 2-6 as they defeated the Sem.
This may help guard the Sem against complacency so I think it's a good thing that they face a Wexford school again as that defeat definitely drove them on last year but it also indicates that this Wexford side will be no pushovers and the Sem will have to be as well prepared and ready as always.
Just said I'd include the Sem team that started that final, quite a few changes to current team despite it being the same age group: St Brendan’s
1. Alec Rennie (Fossa) 2. Michael Potts (Dr. Crokes) 3. Niall Donohue (Firies) 4. Oran Donoghue (Glenflesk) 5. Mark O’Shea (Dr. Crokes) 6. Chris O’Donoghue (Glenflesk) 7. Jack Griffin (Dr. Crokes) 8. Billy Courtney (Dr. Crokes) 9. David Shaw (Dr. Crokes) 10. Cian Gammell (Legion) 11. Dara Moynihan (Spa, Capt.) 12. David Spillane (Spa) 13. Mark Hartnett (Dr. Crokes) 21. Ciarán Flynn (Firies) 15. Donnchadh O’Sullivan (Firies) Subs 14. David Clifford (Fossa) for Flynn (half-time) 22. Lorcán McMonagle (Dr. Crokes) for Donoghue (39) 17. Seán O’Leary (Kilcummin) for Shaw (44) 21. Ciarán Flynn (Firies) for Gammell (47) 19. Thando Dube (Legion) for O’Shea (57)

I know this year's transition year class in the Sem is the highest it has ever been (with a bigish bump in numbers from last year) and it's around the 70 mark.

Final of the Hogan Cup on Saturday at 4pm.
Tg4.ie are broadcasting it online.
Back to back Hogan Cups on offer, and a win would make it a 4-in-a-row for Kerry teams would be some achievement, with PCD having won it in 2014 and 2015
Highlights from the other semi-final.
Preview piece

It would make a great week for underage Football in Kerry if the Sem could win on Saturday after PCD winning the Paul McGirr cup last weekend and last nights win for the u-21s.

We played against St Peter's a couple of weeks ago in the South Leinster league final. They're a tough bunch! We led for 40 minutes of the game but they finished very strongly and ran in a couple of goals at the end. They play a very organised, defensive set up with a 2 man full forward line. The 15 is a fine finisher off both feet and the 14 is decent too. Full back is very strong. Spine of the team is strong, midfield is decent Watch for the centre back getting involved in the play late on. He finished off a couple of moves against us and is a very strong runner. Overall they're a decent outfit, they aren't spectacular but they are good in the tackle and use the ball well. They're very well coached and organised. They are physically very big and strong. Good counsel won the U16 All Ireland 2 years ago beating the Sem comfortably enough in the final. They beat Peter's by a point or 2 earlier in that championship. This year Peter's gave Counsel a good hiding in league and county championship. Having said that I think that the Sem team will have too much class for them tomorrow.

Sem up by 7 at ht. forwards well on top. The goal disallowed for peters was a very harsh call though.

Sem up by 7 at ht. forwards well on top. The goal disallowed for peters was a very harsh call though. Not sure if it was steps or a thrown pass. Seen them let go though. Sem against the breeze in the 2nd half. Looks stiff enough.

Congrats to the Sem.
Fantastic place-kicks by Courtney. Shaw is some finisher too. Paws off, Tadhg!
Some great fielding on display today.

Great first half and steady second half by the Sem to keep St Peter's comfortably at bay. Serious performances from the big guns in Shaw, Moynihan, Courtney and O Sullivan when needed. Peters were game but didn't have the class up front not the big game experience that the Sem lads have.

Very enjoyable game. Class all over the field by the sem. The point taking would gladden the heart. Courtney outstanding as were shaw and a few more. George o connors son outstanding for st peters. Terrible call by the ref to disallow the goal. It would have set them up nicely but the sem would have won this one anyway. Congrats to all.

Really enjoyed watching the streamed coverage at home, couldnt make Croke Park today as I'm heading down for the Tyrone match in the morning. Bi-location would come in handy some days. It would do your heart good to watch those lads play football, so free flowing and natural. I recognised a few faces from last year's minors who I assume will be in the panel again this year. The conveyor belt is working fine but can we try and not beat the natural talent out of them by the time they become adult players.
