Great goal and a point by Shaw. 1-13 to 0-9 now. Could be curtains for the Green, who look to be tiring.

Goal for Courtney. Looks like game over. 2-14 to 0-10 with 15 mins left. Really good game of football.

How billy courtney didn't get at least black in that first half is beyond me- should have had a few cards for other Sem players. Big score line in the end but might have been tighter if the ref had a pair

Ref was lenient with cards towards the Sem players and the green will no doubt rue missed chances. That being said the Sem were worthy winners on the day with great performances from David Shaw and Donnacha O' Sullivan in particular.

Congrats to the Sem!!. Great perfmance. Sad to see some people on here looking for excuses for the Green and blaming the ref. Lacking class.

Well done to the Sem- sad to see some people on here making passive aggressive comments without denying the point that was made. Lacking understanding.

final was played in a good spirit, good players on both sides , the green had the better in the opening exchanges, but a sign of a good team the sem upped their game in the second half and without any fuss got the scores to pull away d o sullivan already mentioned very influential on the 40

Lacking class. . the above treads were critical of a number of key moments which might have make the game closer but also complimentary of the Sem, lacking class comment is a little harsh .

If Shaw takes the Oz route he will be a big loss. Class player, good off either foot and can fetch over his head. The final score line didnt do credit to the Green. I thought OConnor and Hoare showed very well for them. The Sem got their scores a bit easier and deserved to win. Fatigue might be a factor with the Green but they did very well overall.
I thing the Sem will have to be better for longer at midfield if they are to go all the way.
Good coverage by the way, with the "long view" making is easy to see the support play etc. At times I think the RTE coverage is too "up close " to the action.

It was interesting up until halftime but the sem class showed after the break when it was boys v men. I thought the ref favoured the green more than the sem, there was times when he pulled sem players back when they had gone through the tackles. Overall the sem were overwhelmingly deserving winners, too much firepower all over the pitch & they'll take some stopping. I can't understand why the green persisted with o Dwyer on Shaw, it wouldn't have mattered anyway but surely the only way to beat the sem is to stop the supply & not playing your kerry minor in the last line of defence. I would have thought they'd have moved him further out the field as he was nullified where he was. It wouldn't have changed the end result but it may have reduced the margin. Fair play to both teams for a clean contest bar for the odd few pulls here & there.

Well done to both sets of players, they gave it their all and the standard overall was very impressive. A good reflection of the work being done at underage which hopefully bodes well for Kerry football going forward. Best of luck to St. Brendan's in the semi-final.

I think being out 4 weeks in a row was a massive factor for cbs the green. They tired a lot in the second half. That being said The sem were the suppiorer team and deserved the win. With over 10 kerry minors on the team they were always going to be close to impossible to beat. This sem team lost the u16.5 all Ireland final to a Wexford team so it will be interesting to see what the outcome will be this time around. For people giving out about the ref, I thought he was excellent and refed the game very well

Frewen Cup (Under 16.5 A Football) Semi-Final – Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne 1-13 Tralee CBS 0-11 – Match Report
February 28th, 2017 Frewen Cup Semi-Final:
Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne 1-13 Tralee CBS 0-11
Report By Sylvester Hennessy
PS Chorca Dhuibhne booked a final meeting with their great modern day rivals St Brendan’s Killarney with this hard fought Frewen Cup semi-final win in Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday last. They were made to fight all the way by a gallant Tralee CBS team in a game that proved to be very entertaining despite the testing conditions.
With Kerry senior manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice guiding their fortunes the west Kerry students moved the ball with great skill and pace and they made light of the fact that they were playing into a stiff breeze in the opening half.
Sean Quilter scored three early points to give Tralee a good start but once Corcha Dhuibhne settled the scores began to flow. Stiofáin Ó Conchúir was accurate from a close range free. Daire Keane increased the Tralee lead before Ruairi Ó Beaglaíoch and Sean Kennedy exchanged points.
Colm Ó Muircheartaigh had a fine game at wing back and he was ably assisted by Annascaul club mate Gearóid Lyne at centre back. Killian Ó’Failbhe was also dictating the game at centre forward while at the other end of the field Corn Uí Mhuirí star Mikey Kelliher was well held by the Dingle full back line. Corca Dhuibhne got the key score of the half when Aodáin Ó Dibháin goaled but it could have been more but for the brilliance of Daviod Oba who prevented Cathal and Ruairi Ó Beaglaíchg adding two more with two stunning reflex saves. Franz Sauerland, and Killian Ó Failbhe added late points to give the west Kerry lads a deserved 1-7 to 0-6 half-time lead. Stiofáin Ó Conchuir and Mikey Kelliher tapped over early frees early after the interval before substitute Fergal O’Brien pointed. Tralee played their best football in the third quarter but just could not find the scores to compliment their play.
Devidas Uosis pointed from distance and Corca Dhuibhne continued to hold tough in the face of increased Tralee pressure. Fergal O’Brien and Colm Ó Muircheartaigh exchanged points before Uosis and Stiofáin Ó Conchuir stretched the lead six. In a hectic finish to the game Tralee peppered the Corca Dhuibhne goal in attempt to get the goal that would bring them back into the contest but all they could muster was a Sean Kennedy point.
It was the students from the west who prevailed to make it another all Kerry final against St Brendan’s in a game due to be played next week. The two Kerry Colleges have shared the last 6 Corn Uí Mhuirí titles and the last 3 Hogan Cup titles between them. This east v west battle should be a thriller. While their recent successes will never be forgotten the future looks to be very bright indeed for these two Kerry schools.

PCD have won the Frewen Cup (under 16 1/2 Munster A) beating St Brendan's 1-15 to 0-12. Eamonn is actually over this team and they seem to get better and better as the competition progressed and I'm a little surprised they won it to be honest but fair play to them

Job done - roll on to the final.
Sem 3-13 Claremorris 1-11 FT
Bit mad to think Clifford would have been eligible for this team if he was still in school.

ST PETER’S (WEXFORD) will contest the Hogan Cup final for the first time in their history after today’s 2-10 to 2-9 semi-final win over St Mary’s (Magherafelt). The one-point win for the Wexford school propels them into the decider in Croke Park in ten days time on Saturday 1 April, where they will come up against the reigning champions St Brendan’s (Killarney). Before today St Peter’s were last in action in late January when they ended a 25-year wait for a Leinster senior crown, while Derry’s St Mary’s had claimed their first MacRory Cup title last Friday. A late first-half goal from Quinn Saunders helped St Peter’s into a 1-8 to 0-5 interval lead this afternoon, in a match that was switched from Drogheda to Inniskeen GAA grounds in Monaghan beforehand. The Derry outfit got a major early second-half boost courtesy of a goal by Kevin Small before St Peter’s bounced back with Rory O’Connor netting to push them ahead 2-9 to 1-6 by the 40th minute. They were seven points clear, 2-10 to 1-6, with eight minutes remaining, before they had to withstand a late St Mary’s rally that yielded 1-3 without reply, the goal coming from Cormac Murphy. Time ran out on St Mary’s comeback and St Peter’s, who have Wexford footballer Brian Malone as part of their management team, can now look forward to an All-Ireland date.
