Anyone hear anything about the Development Squads. Should be starting soon. Kerry have done really well the last few years in Munster. Should be strong again this year. The u16 South team have some good players in Derry McCarthy (Rathmore) in Goals. Josh Fleming (Crokes) Daire Cleary (Laune Rangers) Sean Cooper (Firies) Ian Corkery (Milltown/Castlemaine) Michael Delvin (Legion).
The Kerry u16 North should be good. Brian O'Regan (Ardfert)or Eoin Brosnan (Dingle) in goals. Luka Brosnan (Desmonds)Dylan Casey (Austin Stacks)Deividas Uosis (Dingle) William Goodwin (Castlegregory) Dominic Lyons (Kerins O'Rahillys) in the backs. Eddie Horan (Scartaglin) and Gearoid Fitzgerald (Austin Stacks)in midfield. Michael Kelliher (John Mitchels) Sean O'Connell (Cordal) Michael Slattery (Austin Stacks) Daniel Goggins (Na Gaeil) Josh O'Keeffe (Ballymac)in the forwards.
The Kerry south u15 have some very good players .
Marc Kelliher (Glenflesk) in goals. Daniel O'Sullivan (Rathmore) Evan Smith (Legion) Mark Cooper (Crokes) David Mangan (Laune Rangers) Dan McCarthy (Kenmare) Eoin Fitzgerald (Gneeveguilla) in the backs. Darragh Lyne (Legion) and Paul O'Shea (Kilcummin) in midfield. Patrick Darcy (Glenflesk) David Dineen (Rathmore) Shane Doona (Laune Rangers) Michael Lenihan (Crokes) Niall McGillicuddy (Legion) Gary Murphy (Keel) in the forwards.
The Kerry north u15s have
Dara Hickson (Annascaul) in goals Sean Óg Ó Morain (Dingle) Dara Barry Walsh (Austin Stacks) Liam Guiney (Listowel Emmets) Ruaidhri Ó’Beaglaoich (An Ghaeltacht) Eric Daly (Beale) in the backs. Not tooo sure about the u14s.

In regards to the north kerry 16's, Devidas plays in the forwards and Sean O' Connell in the backs, Gearoid Sheehan, Ryan Ward and Sean Horan are three other very good players you missed out. Dominic Lyons has given up football as far as I know.

North Kerry u 16 won the Munster championship yerterday they won the final handy(South Kerry) but they had a tough physical battle v cork in semi final it was as dirty as I seen n a u16 game and most of the dirt came from cork ,, stand out performers were sean Horan his twin eddie Casey from stacks Mike kelliher (bit selfish) shay walsh had very good final Luca Brossnan and O connell playing midfield (needs to control temper do) but I have to say the two horans stood head and shoulders over Everyone else they would not b out of place on Kerry minor team this year ,,,, Well done to all involved

Kerry South U14s won the Championship. They beat Cork east 6-6 to 3-3. Kerry North won the Shield beating Clare 6-15 to 0-5. Some of the players for the south would be Conor Henderson (Firies) Ruairi Doyle (Fossa) Eoghan O'Sullivan (Legion) Niall McGillicuddy (Legion) Ruairi Murphy (Listry) Dylan O'Callaghan (Firies) Colin Crowley (Templenoe) Ryan O'Grady (Legion) Cian O'Connor (Kenmare) Emmett O'Shea (Fossa)

If I had to pick a Kerry U16 team It would be . I think Luka Brosnan Dylan Casey Eddie Horan Sean O'Connell Michael Kelliher Deividas Uosis wil be close to the Kerry minor panel next year. Also Ian McGillicuddy Jamie Harrington and Daire Cleary from the South will be pushig it.

Huge congratulations to all the management teams and players involved at all ages. Kerry have won 8 of the 9 titles on offer over the last 3 years now espicially when you consider Kerry field 2 teams in these competitions. Great conveyor belt in operation at last. Well done everyone

Development squads seem to be doing their job looking at results from minor grade (or just a happy co-incidence??). One aspect does however bother me and that is what level of coaching and player development is actually taking place with the development squads? Are the promising players being coached to the extent their weaknesses and strength are being individually appraised. I look at last years minors and again this year the goal keepers from the development squads have not made it to minor grade with both the No 1 & 2 keepers this year not having been keepers through their dev squad years.

Well I think next year Nelu Doherty from Crokes and Robbie Murphy from Stacks have a good chance of making it and they have been development squad keepers so we'll see

There will always be a couple of players who are late bloomers and not involved in underage squads. That being said, it was interesting to note that by my reckoning 5 of the Kerry minor bench on Sunday (O'Luing, Ferdia O'Brien, David Shaw, Kieran Dwyer and Stefan Okunbar) never made the Kerry u16 torunament squads. Perhaps NaCrocaigh can confirm as he has a serious knowledge of these things.
Am I also right in thinking that 5 of the squad are underage next year. Potts, Diarmuid O'Connor, David Clifford, Friel and O'Donoghue?

Shannonsider - of the five you mention four have been involved in development squads over the years. O Luing is the exception I think (open to correction).

Would be great to see the development squads play outside Munster too once they win it. Correct me if I am wrong but development squads are focused just within the province? Would love to see how we are matching up with the progress of Tyrone / Dublin development teams with their much lauded facilities.... 8 of 9 titles though, that unheard of so great progress being made.

It would be interesting to see them playing Tyrone etc. All of those 5 fellas played for the Development squads at some stage so it is working. Good Kerry minor team there next year also. Some serious backs there next year . Chris O'Donoghue Cian Gammell Niall O'Donoghue Mike Potts will probably all start. Lorcan McMonagle Cian O'Callaghan Nathan O'Flanura Dylan Casey Luka Brosnan Mark Ashe Jamie Harrington Sean O'Connell Niall O'Mahony Damien Cronin Brian O'Connor Sean Collins Ian McGillicuddy could all make the panel. Clifford Friel and O'Connor will all start in the Forwards. Fiachra Clifford Donnacha O'Sullivan Jack Griffin Patrick Moriarty Eddie Horan Barry O'Mahony Mike Kelliher Jamie O'Sullivan Joe O'Connor Kellen Brosnan Mark Hartnett Sean Horan Ian Roche could all make it as Forwards.

The U16s do. The best of the Kerry North and South will now be picked to play in a tournament in August. The current minor team absolutely hammered Mayo and Monaghan IIRC 2 years ago in that tournament.

The current minor team absolutely hammered Mayo and Monaghan IIRC 2 years ago in that tournament. Interestingly only 11 of the 28 man panel for that U16 tournament made the 24 man panel for the Munster final last Sunday - a further three were listed as injured for the 2014 tournament. Major attrition rate in just two years for various reasons. Remember the Minor team is made up of the 2014 U16 and U15 plus injuries and form... are all part of the reason for the above numbers.

It's a hard panel to make this year. Shane Foley Mike Heaphy Aaron Morris Connie O'Connor Iarla Courtney JJ Herlihy Patrick Daly Peter McCarthy Gearoid Savage didn't make it. They would make a lot of panels

Poor showing by South Kerry. Between St.Marys Waterville Sneem Valentia Dromid Pearses Skellig Rangers Foilmore Renard only Brendan Kelly on the Kerry South U14s. Only Jack Curran on the Kerry South U15s. Only Dylan Van Daele on the Kerry South U16s. Surprising a little.

I imagine most of the big clubs have that many on their own at u16 level
